I too enjoy a good debate but I also do not trash people based upon their beliefs I am not judgmental in any way. I just choose not to believe. But as I said it may be just because I am rather cynical. I have never had a date so Valentines day is worthless to me. My mum has failed to be a real mum so many times putting me in danger more than once so some mother she is. And my father and I never see eye to eye so he is more like my landlord than my father so that gives me little reason to celebrate fathers day.
I celebrate my parents lives on their birthdays although I do celebrate their anniversary too. But i don't celebrate anything I am told to celebrate. I believe what I choose to. If you disagree I respect that just like you should respect that I choose to disbelieve.
Because they are celebrating the life of someone, as long as that someone means something to you then celebrate their existence.
To be honest I'd say all but birthdays are but I celebrate them by force of habit really.

This may be my inner cynic talking but I find Valentines day pointless because it is meant to be the one day to be very romantic with your partner. But really if you care for them for real you would be romantic everyday. For that reason I find Valentines day pointless (But that may be because I've never had a date) Another pointless holiday is Mothers day and Fathers day because the fact is that my mum didn't become a mother until my brother's birthday so that should really be mothers day for her.
