I actually got a higher score on Stein than Obama, but I'll still be voting for him in November. Somebody pointed out that voting for an independent candidate at this point is basically giving half a vote to Romney, and I want to keep him, and especially Ryan, out of the White House.

Of course, being an Illinois voter my vote doesn't really matter, it's pretty unlikely for anyone but Obama to win here... But better safe than sorry.

Eh, I'm the sole liberal living in a house of conservatives, in the name of peace we all decided not to watch it in the company of each other. Besides, I'm sure The Daily Show, Colbert Report and the podcasts I listen to will cover them extensively.

It wasn't so much that what you were saying was a stereotype, it was more that the way you wrote it made it seem like you were taking personal experiences and opinions and stating them as facts. I'm not saying this was your intention, it's just the way it comes off in writing. Whenever I try to use opinions or experiences to back up an argument, I try to make it as clear as possible that it's just that. A personal thing. And yeah, I'm sure I've failed miserably at that more often than not.

That's not really what I'm talking about. I meant the fact that if people don't like the way a woman is doing her job (especially if it's a high power one or a traditionally male dominated occupation) they'll comment on her looks and weight and then maybe on why they don't think she's doing a good job. And then there's that "Pretty girls are dumb," and "Pretty girls can't be funny," thing going on.
DISCLAIMER: Not trying to 'hate' on men, I've seen plenty of women do this too, I've probably done it myself at some points of my life.

Yeah, cause a woman's value is totally not based on her looks, ever!

But yeah, guys can be awesome. And they can suck too. Same goes to the ladies.
