Pleased to meet you. Are you new here?
Pretty good, thanks. How about you?
I realise that my first idea (before the edit) would cost me the Duel. So I don't activate anything. You may proceed to your Main Phase.
So we both have 6 cards in our hands now. Your field is empty except for Morphing Jar. Mine is completely empty. Main Phase 1 (cont.) I play Prohibition and declare Hanewata. 5 cards left. I set 3 cards face-down. 2 cards left. I play Pot Of Benevolence and return Pot Of Greed and Graceful Charity back to the Deck. 1 card left. Next I summon the Royal Firestorm Guards in Attack position. Due to its effect, I shuffle 1 Volcanic Rocket and 3 Volcanic Scattershots back into my Deck. I draw 2 cards. 2 cards in hand. I play Graceful Charity and draw 3 cards. I discard 2 Volcanic Scattershots. You lose 1000 Life Points. Still 2 cards in hand. I play Double Summon. 1 card left. I Normal Summon Royal Firestorm Guards and shuffle Volcanic Counter, Molten Zombie and 2 Volcanic Scattershots back into my Deck. I draw 2 cards. 2 cards in my hand. I set 1 more card face-down. 1 card in hand. End Phase My LP: 7000 Yours: 4100 Hand size: 1 Spell/Trap card zone Monster card zone
Main Phase 1 I start by playing Heavy Storm. 6 cards in my hand. Chain?
Yeah, but when Tornado and Gift Of Greed are in the same chain, then that entire chain would have to resolve first. Meaning Tornado would be used up BEFORE I draw, so I'd have less than 8 cards in total. His Morphing Jar is face-up. Or did I miss something? Anyway, can I continue with my move now?
Well, for one thing you always respond in ways I didn't think of. I often try to predict how my opponent would respond when I play a certain card...
It's kinda hard to simulate this. In a real-life game it all depends on how fast I would respond. But here, on a forum, making a move without giving someone the chance to do something about it (even though he has the means) doesn't really strike me as fair. Not saying you were trying to cheat of course, but it feels rather awkward to flip a card over without giving your opponent a chance to do something about it. As for the Life Point counter... My LP: 7000 Yours: 5100 Do you want to put the Duel on hold until you've figured out who gets to Chain first? Or should I get on with my turn? By the way, you're still among the best duelists active in this Arena as far as I'm concerned. Besides, this Duel isn't over yet. It can still go both ways. Best to draw conclusions until after the Duel is decided. I too can make a fatal mistake somewhere along the way, you know?
Meh. The Phoenix was just a back-up anyway. I edited my post to correct the error. Either way, you have to give your opponent the opportunity to chain instead of saying "immediately after it resolves". I chain your Gift Of Greed with Tornado from my hand, targeting one of your face-down cards. I have 7 cards in my hand instead of 8 now, so you wouldn't be able to use Heavy Slump. Anyways, chain?
Draw Phase 6 cards in my hand. Standby Phase Activate anything so far?
Actually I was thinking the same thing about you.
I discarded 2 Volcanic Rockets... ...and 3 Volcanic Scattershots. Due to their effects, you lose 1500 Life Points in total. Continue.
We'll see. Maybe this duel will make you change your mind when it is over.
Hold on a minute, Jaden. I cannot negate Spiritualism but I can still activate my Trap cards in response to them. So I activate Threatening Roar in response to your first Spiritualism. And I activate Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai in response to your second, Tributing my Phoenix and inflicting 2400 points of damage to your Life Points. So I didn't discard anything. Continue.
Hold it. I activate Drop Off during your Draw Phase. You have 4 cards left. I have two face-downs and a monster.
Main Phase 1 I activate Pot Of Greed and draw 2 cards. 3 cards in my hand now. I set them all face-down. Battle Phase I attack you with my Phoenix, dealing no damage but using up Necro Gardna's effect. End Phase No cards in this hand. Your turn. My LP: 8000 Yours: 9000 Spell/Trap card zone Monster card zone Five cards vs three face-downs... I am so dead. XD
You really are not giving yourself enough credit. You took over the dominating position in this Duel so far. That requires some serious skill. In...
You have 4 cards in your hand, am I right?
3 cards in my hand and everything's still going according to plan. Now on to the next part of the strategy... Let's see if we can do something about those pesky monsters of yours... I activate Raigeki. 2 card in my hand left. Chain?
Draw Phase 5 cards in my hand. Standby Phase I chain Tornado to Mirage Of Nightmare, destroying it before it activates. 4 cards in my hand. Chain?
