((Ummm.... Colt caught the Shinx while you guys were pressumably asleep. So he's awake at this point)).
((Then I'll await the arrival of the ships in the camp. There are, in terms of player controlled characters, three within the detatchment camp where the RP started: Crystal, Zei Je, and the yet to be named knight that was possessed by a rampant soul)).
((Then can someone at least give Zei a reason to leave the tent? He wouldn't be so apt to ditch a child in the midst of a war. Will there be another ship heading for the camp to pick up surivors? Because I can just hold off on him until that happens)).
((That's the thing. Crystal is Blizzard's character, who does nothing unless Blizzard says so. I think accomadations should be made for the event that someone is unpredicatably (or predictably), absent from the RP for a significant period. Xiao is, at the moment, looking for Mixt)).
((Is there anything that can be done regarding Crystal? Zei can't do much of anything until she responds)).
((This gets a bit frustrating having a relatively inactive team...))
((Is there any chance we can take a break from actually fighting? I mean, give a little more suspense building, and sneaky cat sort of stuff? Seriously, the constant fighting gets sort of boring)). Evident in the being’s reactions to Judgment, the Keyblade had done the job that it was meant to have done. The mist disapated, and Xiao, moving freely again, eyed the receding movements of both the mist, and the doppleganer of the girl as they vanished from view. “That was anti-climactic,” she said to herself, shrugging in a ‘whatever’ sort of manner. “But a win is a win, I suppose. I’ll take if for what it is.” Judgment dissolved from her grip, leaving her tail claw free for further use beyond soul sucking. “I wonder where Mixt meandered off to? You’d think that he’d have kept the fight on these grounds. How could he leave a lady alone? What nerve that man must have!” “Ehem!” the voice was harsh, like a scratching against sandpaper sort of noise of someone who had something awkward up with their throat. Xiao turned her head slightly, believing it to be the voice of another denizen of the light; but she was mistaken, to her amusement. The voice was that of her latest acquisition: The possessed body of her last victim, the young light knight. Despite looking like he had gone through hell and come back, he still held onto life, thanks to the soul implanted within him. He was a lesser one, perhaps just a sergeant, or maybe even n more than a private. His Keyblade was simplistic as well, holding no finite, personalized form. His form was that of any soldier though: Broad frame, well defined muscle hinted beneath his armor, and a clean-shaven head. “Ah, I see you’re awake. Good to know someone here was courteous enough to not leave little old me on my own! What can I do for you?” The possessed warrior chuckled, breaking a twisted smile before she who was his new master. “It’s not so much what you can do for me,” he said, “but what can I do for you, m’lady?” Xiao responded with a light-hearted laugh of her own. “Heh heh heh. Well, that’s quite noble of a fine gentleman such as you. And if I must give you some sort of mission, then that mission will be to get yourself picked up by the light army. Let’s see what we can learn about them. It’ll be fun.” The knight lowered into a head bow, and departed, seeking out any nearby communications facilities. With one plan set in motion, Xiao turned to the two lingering spirits that remained. “You two, be dears, and seek out the homeworld of the light. You should have no trouble seeking it. Stay low when you get there though, and wait for the right moment. The both of you can start a good commotion if you take someone down at just the right moment.” She whipped her tail in a commanding motion, pointing away from the camp. Both spirits faded away, shifting through space-time into their realm. How long it would take them to find plausible marks, she didn’t know. That sort of efficiency varied from spirit to spirit, and it was pretty much impossible to guarantee that the right sort had been gathered. “And now to find my dear old Mixt.” Eclipse let off an iridescent, white glow, demanding the alterations of space to allow Xiao what automatic passage she required. She had at least some idea where Mixt might have been. But it all came down to luck, unless she took the time to feel things out. For that, there was no time, and she took a single step forward. Oddly, the step brought her further than the usual three feet in distance; She had moved some distance from the camp to the outside of the cave within which Mixt had been situated earlier in the day. Things seemed barren there, now that the residents had been dispatched into battles all over the wasted desert world. “Oh Mixt, honey? Are still around here anywhere?” ((For the record, the possessed soldier and the spirits will be controlled NPCs under my umbrella)).
The Shinx, Daemon, and Colt stood in a roughly triangular orientation in a small clearing within the grass. The latter two of the three stared at the former with a hopeful interest. “Alright Daemon,” said Colt, “are you ready to get this show on the road? The first Pokemon added to our roster will be this Shinx.” Daemon fluttered around joyously at this thought, chiming in with its traditional call of ‘Ghast! Ghast!’ Colt nodded, taking out his Pokedex, which activated immediately, responding with ease to the sight of the Shinx. The information came out by means of the electronic voice programmed into the device, relaying the Pokemon’s type, and its plausible attacks. “So we’re dealing with electricity,” Colt stated, looking down at the Shinx. He took a moment to collect himself, and, to an extent, build up the curiosity of the Pokemon. It seemed to work; it still stood there, staring at him, its yellow eyes widening as it inched cautiously closer. “OK!” said Colt, making the little Shinx freeze for a moment. The look in its eyes now told Colt that it was prepared to turn tail. But he wasn’t so ready to allow such a thing to happen; not on the very first Pokemon. This was his statement. “Daemon!” he cried softly. “Use your Hyponosis to put it to sleep!” Daemon obediently commenced. Releasing a pulse of hypnotic waves. The effect was almost instantaneous. Shinx’s eyes began to droop slowly shut, and within a span of a few seconds, landed into a deep slumber. It was at peace, napping in the clearing, unconcerned with the fact that it was soon to be in the hands of a human. “I better not risk this one waking.” Brushing his coat aside, he reached down to his belt, removing an unoccupied Pokeball. “Let’s give you a nice home,” he told the slumbering Shinx just before releasing the ball in a baseball-like throw. The ball hit right on its target, popping open as it struck the Shinx's body, sucking it into its inner sanctum. The center dot of the ball remained aglow for a short while as the ball as a whole rocked back and forth. But in the end, the Pokemon's struggle within the ball culminated in disappointment for the moment. it was captured, and sealed within the ball until Colt needed its aid in battle. The treainer approached the stagnant ball, eying it with a mild suspcion, in case the pokemon within burst out from ball at the last minute. But by the time he had knelt down and picked it up, it had shrunk back down to carrying size; it was over. He had caught a Pokemon for the first time. "Daemon. You and I are going to be a great someday.... Now. What should we name our new friend? How about..... Flux?" 'Ghastly! Ghastly!' "Alright then. Flux it is. I hope they like it too."
((And I assume I'm free to write up a capture post)).
((Were the trainers provided a set of Pokeballs at the start of their journey?))
((Hey Fayt, I started a wild encounter for Colt on page 29 (or was it 30). Waiting on you.
((Just an observation, but it seems like the team traveling method tends to work in favor of some teams more so than others)).
((OOC: I know this is sort of bunnying. But my group is like, way behind, and it makes no sense to not bring them into the present moment)). Colt and his team had ended up traveling some time into the night after their depatrture. Not to say of course, that they hadn't made that much headway in their journey due to a later start, but they were still considerably behind the others by the time night had swallowed the day whole. Colt wasn’t sure about his company, but he had never felt more awake then that first night; and while he assumed Kaneano and Etrian to be asleep for the night, he had spent his night staring at the moon, just pondering whatever happened to come to mind. Maybe I should just say something to them. It’s not like it’s a bad thing; though I would like them to know why I’m always so… well, why I might get into acting the leader a lot. Somewhere within it all, he had lapsed out of it, and the sun had made its first peek up over the hills, seeping in through the shade under the tree they had camped under. “Wow!” he said, finding emotion for the first time in the passed few days. “That was the shortest night I’ve ever gone through. And now I get to operate on a second wind for the day.” He looked around his isolated space and called out for Daemon. The Ghastly, obedient to its master’s wishes, can into visibility at his side. It gave no attempt to make him laugh, mostly because it could tell that he was content at the moment. “Well,” Colt said to his friend, “let’s go make our team grow. I bet the grasslands over there have some new friends for us.” Daemon, pleased by the plan, followed Colt into a patch of knee-high grass. It didn’t take long for something to run into the pair…. ((WILD ENCOUTNER... I'm allowed to call one, just not the pokemon, right?))
It was just as Colt had reached the last step down towards the raod that he heard the voice calling out. For a moment, he didn't think much of it; people were shouting after each other all the time, so it wasn't anything to jump to. But as the word "Ghastly" was uttered, he realized that he was likely the only one that was being addressed. He turned around, opening his eyes in as cool a manner as he could, and looked at the other. Trotting at the boy's feet, Colt noticed an Eevee. An interesting Pokemon to start with. So many possibilites. Daemon seemed to enjoy seeing another Pokemon, immediately lowering itself, running its tongue along the side of the Eevee's head. "My name's Coltin Dutreau, but call me Colt," he said to Etrain, holding out his hand rather lazily to greet his traveling companion. "Came here from Lavender town. You?" Before Etrian had much of a chance to respond another person, this one with a Vulpix, had come along, almost flustered by the thought that his group would even think to leave without him. The Vulpix met with the same affection as the Eevee had, wit Daemon licking it right square on the head, laughing in meriment. "So," said Colt, trying to sound a bit more leaderly, "Three of us. Coltin,"he said, introducing himself again, "Kameano, and Etrain. So, we best all start off as soon as possible. The other groups seem to be a bit further along."
((Wouldn't being able to copy a person's abilities be... A bit cheap?)
((Could they at least post it up here though, so that we don't have to worry about what's legitimante or not?))
Kicking off from the wall, Colt meandered along down the steps from the laboratory. He knew that he was supposed to be traveling in a small group; but the others that he had been scheduled to be with had yet to show up. “Come on Daemon,” he said in a voice cooler than his age necessitated. The Ghastly, confused by the unfazed mannerism, and the sudden desire to depart, floated along, making short, light cries, as if to as what was going on. Even though no words were relayed, Colt seemed to understand the Pokemon’s words perfectly. “We’re not going to wait,” he told the Pokemon. If the others really wanted to be here now, they would have shown themselves. Besides, most of the others are still mingling. We can get a good head start this way.” Daemon, even more confused, revolved around Colt’s head trying to get a good look into the eyes of its master. It had already tried everything it could think of to get the boy to break into laughter. But nothing had been working. Coming in line with the front of Colt’s face, it pulled out its tongue, reaching it up over its eyes. When the tongue had receded back into its mouth, the eyes were gone, as though they had never actually been there to begin with. Still, Colt didn’t budge. Daemon looked closer, in through the boy’s glasses, and frowned. The solemn gray eyes that belonged to its master were shut, like he was meditating whilst walking. Shaking its head, Daemon continued along, reaming behind its master. If its mind could be read here, it would likely be thinking of how on earth it would ever get the boy to smile.
((You know, we're actually starting with separating into our groups)).
.... I think this MIGHT be more suitable for the Extended Section.
In a state of what some may have considered complete unconcern, Colt leaned back against the outside wall of the lab. Each other person there that he glanced at became a subject of speculation though. How far they would get in their quest, where they might falter, and who might become best friends all found themselves as his topics. They all seemed so ready for the path that stood in front of them, like they were destined to walk it. And the truth remained that Colt felt the same way, even though he couldn’t admit excitement. He had already shown himself as being more of a laid back sort of guy, whose emotions weren’t apt to spark. As his head wandered idly off to his left, his vision fell upon a partially transparent manifestation coming into being nearby. A perfectly round, black head with two mischievous looking eyes, and a mouth of fangs came into full physical form before him, and hovered in an arc around to the other side of his head, sticking out its tongue, and making faces. But it didn’t seem to hold any weight with him. He just gazed to his left, ignoring the Ghastly’s gestures. The Pokemon vanished briefly, reappearing staring its master in the eye. “Well, Daemon,” Colt said softly, “It looks like we’ll be working together on this one. Doesn’t it?” The Pokemon, frowning at its master’s seriousness, made a bobbing gesture mimicking a nodded ‘yes’.
