"Ah!" Zei's voice sounded off in a harsh accent. Simultaneously, he raised his hand with his index finger extended. It was the classic sign of antyone having an idea of any sort. And his was one of those big ones, the ones that you almost regret making, due to the strings attached to it. But he felt it best to present, for he was certain no one would mind in the end. It wasn't that big a secret. "I happen to know of a place in which she could take temporary residence. It's upon my own world, and amongst many a great hideout. Darkness, nor light, nor even mucgh of nothing has so much as scratched it in its eternity of existence. So long as both of you are willing to allow me to lead the way there?" She seems to be having trouble handling that box... or maybe it's not trouble. It's rather hard to tell.
Zei pondered for only second before making his response, a curt nod of the head, and an assurance that he’d speak nothing of Phisoxa’s endeavors. “You’ve my blade at your side, M’lady,” he said to her as they exited their corridor into another.” A few moments after, as their path advanced deeper into the complex system of halls, he made further utterance, mostly for the sake of conversation. “These ways are a most impressive feat; they do well to match that of my home. Such ingenious a labyrinth; No doubt the designers made it as such to throw off invaders.” Every so often, he’d veer off to the side, taking a passing look at the various architectural masteries that comprised the structure. With each glance, he’d make a short ‘mhmm,’ noise, and continue to nod in approval. As he followed her into the chamber, he did nothing more than watch her actions with great interest. She seemed to know exactly what she was looking for, and exactly where it was. His interest in the matter peaked when he glanced upon what he could make out of the item from his position. "it seems... powerful..." he whispered under his breath. “Damn. No Mixt here either, it would seem.” Xiao’s ventures in search of her ‘commander’ had again yielded no good results. But in her opinion, she had found the perfect place to cause a bit of trouble. According to the people she had overheard upon arrival, this was a world known as Twilight Town. And it was rightly named as such; the entire world seemed to be locked in an eternal sunset, the orange sun and skies expanding infinitely across its span. That same orange effect latched itself onto the stones of which each building was made. And then there was the citizen base. They were all so… peaceful. It was like nothing of the worldly predicament mattered to any of them. Their lives were to them, severed from the affairs of the war. Were she a more serene soul, she’d be apt to admire this beauty. But she was not such a being; she thrived in chaos, in uncertainty. To stir up a bit of trouble would be expected of her by pretty much anyone who may have known her in brief time back. As she stood on a perch at the top of a massive bell tower, she concocted a scheme. Time for a little bit of fun to be had. Instantaneously, a passé of phantoms, maybe ten, or fifteen, gathered around her. “Have some fun,” she told them, pointing out the town in which they would be permitted to spread chaos to their content. The lot of them dispersed, each heading towards its own section of the unsuspecting community. Xiao, not in the mood to attract attention to herself, she whipped a tattered looking canvas over her body, using it as a cloak, descending into the base of the clock tower, wherein was a bustling train station.
All the way Zei could feel Phisoxa pulling against his grip; she was far tougher a person than she appeared to be, and his grip had loosened by the time they halted. The lot behind had been stalled only for a few minutes, maybe less than that. He’d have to say what he needed, and explain, at best, HIS situation. “M’lady, I know and understand indefinitely that you are by no means some trophy. It doesn’t take a fool to see that you’re a prominent figure in the Light Army, one whose presence could determine many outcomes in this war. Hence, at this point in time, you, amongst so many others, must be preserved at any cost.” He looked down the corridor, seeing that one of the others was starting to regain his strength after the attack. “I must not have dealt it to them quite enough. My time right now is short. I can get you to where it is you need to be. In fact, it’s probably in the best interest of everything if I do, especially when such unsavory of characters are running amuck. You can ask, or not ask, either way, I’m on your side.” For now. Did I just hear an engine? Cornelius had been laying out in the sand, half ‘dead’, eyes closed, and extremely annoyed at it all. Over five hours, he had just spent all of them, every minute, every second, trying to find some trace of the Light Army. And now, as he opened his eyes to the familiar sounds of Gummi ship engines, he found himself in the shade of a small transport, blotting out the sun. But it was by no means any cooler. The exhausting fuel of the ship let off an impressive amount of heat, almost melting his face. For a moment, he thought that it would land on him; but that was quickly dispelled from his mind as the ship came down some twenty feet away from him. What are they trying to do? Make me deaf? The ramp to the ship descended, touching down at the traditional thirty degrees with the ground, which expressed explicit desire to swallow the vessel whole. It was too big though, and the captain of the ship was able to exit without hassle. He wasn’t dressed like the other troops that had been around. He bore no armor, no real insignia. His primary attire consisted of a light white-brown pair of pants, which appeared to be dress shoes, a heavy leather jacket with fur interiors, and a leather cap, accessorized with a set of goggles. “ Captain Wilbur Orville,” he said, sizing up Cornelius’ tattered form. “You look like hell,: he smirked. “Tell me about it. Can you get me to the City of Light?” “Hell! You haven’t heard?” “Heard what?” “Got blown to kingdom effing come! Dark Army totaled the place!” “Then where are you guys going?” “Next safest place! Radiant Garden!” “Very well. That works fine.” Cornelius boarded the ship."
I know. Today is probably the best day for me to post. Zei's portion is ready. I just need to get one put in for the possessed knight.
I'm on plenty, actually. I just have it set to not show up. I like being a ninja. It's more an issue of timezones, I think. Most of the time, the...
“Now, now, now. What IS everyone’s obsession with this young girl?” Zei tracked forward from the door into the defunct elevator, into the corridor. Again, he was shaking his head in a displeased manner. “By the Heavens, I’ve never once seen so many people after one person like this.” Awkwardly still, he was smiling as he gazed upon each soul within the corridor. They were all powerful in their own rights. And all of them seemed to be after this one girl. While his gaze seemed to focus out on Phisoxa in the physical sense, in spirit, it filled the room as he pressed out a small portion of his life force. Hopefully it would give them the message… that they had another contender after her. “I digress. I know not what insidious purposes the lot of you have for this child. But my mission would dictate that one so important to the Light needs, at present moment, to be kept well out of the hands of such…. Shady people.” It happened in less than a second, his face turning serious; Zei flung his arm forward, casting a series of spells, formed of pure magic. There were enough for each person in the room, save of course himself and Phisoxa, such that his was, for that moment, the only unobstructed path to the child. Within that same fraction of a second, he had plowed into the crowd, scooping Phisoxa into his arms as he passed through. She’s not the only one who moves fast. His path of travel lead him down the corridor’s length, where he halted, and again flung his arm back, sending another volley of pure spells at the crowd. That should take care of that. ((I would appreciate it if people could give me a little time to become a part of the plot)).
When it comes to a matter of just sort of having something with a beat to mess around to, to have a groove laying down, she's good. But despite her talents, and whatnot, she's doing something that I feel every artist in her line has done. She's being used by the music industry the same as pretty much every other pop/rock artist has been at some point in their span. Adn that's what draws me away from her. The way she's touring, as you've so well put it here, and the way I see her displayed as an artist, seems to hint that she'll be dried up as a result of the industry in a few years. That's why I stick to things that are non-mainstream. They don't get publicized, they don't get worked over by the labels, and they last for so much longer when they avoid being totally immersed in the corporate side of things.
Thanks for the input. It seems like a Fantasy has proved to be the most popular, so you'll likely get your magic and whatnot. I may (or may not, depending on how much input into it I can get) be formulating another poll thread to narrow the options down.
“Damn it! Nothing but static? You’ve got to be effing kidding me!†Cornelius Boroughs, or rather, the possessed body of the former Staff Sergeant, tore off the ungainly helmet, ditching it in the all-consuming desert dunes. He’d been wandering for at least five hours through the unforgiving environment trying to find some smidgen of a signal; but there had been nothing. The City of Light, despite it’s grandeur, couldn’t seem to keep any sort of communications link with their own devices now. “Just what I should have expected, what Xiao should have expected. They’ve been scattered. They’re more a bumbling mess than our guys are lately.†He pressed on in search of some other form of life that might get him out the hellhole he was in. “Forgive me, mistress, if I fail you. Not my fault, really.†Anything in brackets = flashbacks [Zei stood in the center of the pitch-black room, lone, and bemused by the absence of the Elders. They should be here. They wouldn’t have left, but it seems they have. But then… things must be worse than even they had anticipated… As this thought crossed him, the light within the room came to life, revealing the aged stone workings, grown beyond time, and the seven seats upon which the Elders should have been sitting… they were empty, save for a single scroll upon the seat of Grandmaster Xiang Ai Ning. Worriedly, he approached the seat, to find only that there were no catches, or strings attached. It was in deed just a scroll, and upon it, the Elders had left him a message: “Zei Je, we know you have traveled a great distance to come and see us. But the time has come for us to depart; it is not for the sake of taunting you, but for the sake of guiding you, so to speak. You’re mission is simple: to maintain the balance between Light and Darkness. This balance is crucial to existence, as we’ve taught you time and again. We will be around again, but only after we’ve found what answers we’re looking for elsewhere. It is likely that you’ll not be seeing us for a while. Best of fortunes to you in your mission.â€] “I must say that I’m quite perplexed as well, m’lady.†Zei rose through the shaft in quite a lazy manner; it was more of an idle drift upwards than actually flying. He was smiling as well, sort of playfully, as far his expressions went, though it would have seemed to be filled with some small amount of ill-meaning. After a few seconds, he had arrived at Phisoxa’s height, shaking his head in a mocked disapproval. “Why would you be so inclined to climb your way up when you’ve proven yourself so capable of simply wall kicking your way up? Or, dare I ask, would it be a more accommodating if I simply gave a you lift up to your desired floor?†He held out his arms as a holding place for the girl. “I can assure you, you’ll get to wherever t is you’re going much faster this way. And it’s quite safe, if I do say so myself.â€
((Second character posted. Also, out of courtesy for everyone, I've changed Kai's color to silver, so as to not cause any strains on peoples' eyes. The dark orchid color wasn't very accomadating)).
I've been on there as a member. I lost interest pretty quickly though. And at this point, I can't understand the set up they've got.
Don't know why, but I get the feeling like Aether shouldn't be something that a person could just absorb into their body, at least, not the Aether of another person. I mean, wouldn't that be sort of like just integrating some foreign DNA into one's body? I mean, it can't be healthy for a person, assuming that Aether is as personalized as the DNA itself is.
And said character can be up by this evening. The character sheet won't be as strong, since I suck at making females off of a non-real life basis, and I tried to not repeat much of Kai in it. Should be good though.
((Zei's not all that weak though, of course. Or is he not allowed to be as such?))
Got, I'm sure. Thought that it had something to do with later posts. Very sneaky.
"We Came. We Saw. We Cowabungaed." Username: Ego Imperium Alliance: The Sanction Name: Kai Xanders Age: 20 Appearance: Kai's appearance is reflective of what some might call an eccentric blend of Asian and Eastern/Northern European Ancestry (and he probably has a bit of everything in him somewhere. While facially he expresses the same general appearance that has become synonymous with the Chinese/Japanese groupings, the rest of him is clearly of a Scandinavian, or possibly Russian influence. It is seen that this European persuasion has taken the dominant course within his looks. He is of a light Caucasian skin tone, having bluish-gray eyes, and a gaggle of a beard of black hair gathered upon his chin, spreading out in the shadow of his mouth. He stands at 5'11'', with his body being one that might as well have been carved out by a Greek artisan. It is visibly perfect in proportion, being of a lithe build, that of an athlete. His hair, when left unattended, which seems to be his nature these days, is left in an unkempt mess of black curls that fall to nearly shoulder's length. Auxiliary Ability: To some extent, all beings seem to have grown into a state that enables them to manipulate Aether. Aether, existing now within ever cell of Kai’s body, coupled with his ability to manipulate that Aether, has gifted him with the ability to manipulate the very material of his body, ranging from altering cells, to firing off cognitive signals to muscles, and sensory receptors, resulting in an all around enhanced sensory ability, and the potential to break far beyond peak human physical capacity through flows of Aether within his body. Of course, he’s not free from obstruction in this; to sway even the smallest function of his body, even through Aether, he runs the risk of compromising his homeostasis, and many of the possibilities remain as mere dreams in his mind. Offensive Power: He realizes that he’s far from the only one in possession of such power, but anyhow, he is able to utilize his internal Aether as a form of pure energy, focusing it into waves rays, and bursts, existing externally as a semi-transparent form of energy. A variety of other techniques have come to mind, such as the concentration of his Aether onto a specific part of his body, or even encompassing his figure for melee style combat. He’s been experimenting since he’s had his power, finding out what suits him. On the whole, he prefers the use of melee style techniques, believing that “just blasting things and people to kingdom come isn’t the respectful way to do damage.” Weapon: Bar is ability to coat his body with Aether, turning it into a lethal weapon in and of itself Kai bears no weapons. Personality: Kai is pretty much the typical example of a twenty-year-old. As a young adult he comes off as pretty weird, and ultimately obnoxious to the older generations. He’s a sociality at heart, mingling with pretty much anyone he can get in with, even if it happens to be the most; through it all, he seems to be a little bit careless in the sense that not much of anything really fazes him, and for the most part, he feels immortal, invincible even. He could be staring at death itself, and still have the heart to laugh right before it took its toll on him. Despite his somewhat lazy attitude, he is well enough off in his intelligence. And there is at least one area in which he shows diligence: Competition. When there is some sort of glory on the line, Kai is usually seen spearheading his way to somewhere near the top of the ladder; this is especially true with anything involving anything competitive, which he easily gets worked up about, almost to the point of rage. Bio: For as far back as Kai has ever been able to recall, he had lived the entirety of his childhood within the Facility. And he knows nothing of the circumstances of his capture, as he was far too young for it to embed itself within his memory. The story, as it has been told in any files (of which Kai has no knowledge at the moment), his parents had been involved in an incident, which had, inevitably, claimed their lives. Hence, Kai, and his sister Sarah, would have been left as orphans, if not for the Facility’s involvement in the incident. The two were captured, and hauled off to their respective places within the facility, where their lives would unfold in what they believed was the normal way it was meant to. Then, they had no memory of anything beyond their lives, bar each other, prior to The Facility. In Kai’s case, the whole thing developed into somewhat of a game; one in which his goal was to just be better than the others he brushed shoulders with. For the earlier part of his time there, he was one of those mischievous kids, always getting into places, and situations that were generally frowned upon by the Facility staff. He received his punishments, and his scolding, those light taps on the wrist, and sometimes beatings. His trouble-bound persona began to sway into a more hard-core alignment; he became less mischievous, and more about taking on the challenge placed up by his peers, and ‘superiors.’ In fact, he had originally sought to break free. To his misfortune, the Facility had decided to start wrangling people in to prevent this happening. With Kai’s weakness in his ego, he was a prime target, and was hence, captured, and programmed. He’s been amongst the ranks of The Sanction, preparing for a possibility of a second breakout attempt. He seems to have been trying to flout his ego about more often lately. Other: Why Not? Theme Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpkeAQG6kQw Fighting Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pofqHfSvy_8 Alliance: Resistance Name: Sarah Xanders Age: 18 Appearance: Sarah stands at 5 feet even, being at somewhere around 100 lbs in weight. If even possible, her meek posture makes seem even smaller than she is. While not particularly strong in build, she is genuinly healthy. She has naturally tanned skin, which is smooth in texture, and gives of a certain shine in the sunlight. Her hair is black, with linings of a dark maroon laying underneath at the bottom, and falls passed her shoulders; it's usually kept up in a pony tail. In contrast to her appearance, which is strong in oriental background, she has inherited a pair of brilliant blue eyes. Auxiliary Ability: Sarah is super sensitive to the energy pit off by Aether, and the unique signals it lets off; she can feel out a person simply by means of their Aether 'signature', making her aware of the presence of mostly any enhanced being. Tracking, however, isn't the only use for this sensitivity, as her ability seems to be at the point where she can estimate the amount of power boasted by another, usually being accurate when dealing with those who lack the ability to fully manipulate their natural Aether output. But it's not without its backlashes; large outputs of Aether have been known overwork this sensory. As it's not fully refined, she has no control over what signals she picks up. Offensive Ability: Sarah’s Aether is, by all means, some of the most destructive around, and highly personal to her, making it something that isn’t lightly consumed. Despite that she is unable to focus it into the pure energy forms that others seem able to, she has found a manner of using to her advantage as an environmental catalyst. This would generally equate to what some might call telekinesis, achieved through the wonders of Aether. By channeling her Aether through, or around a given portion of matter, she is able to effectively utter manipulative powers over it, which can range from moving said matter, to sparking chemical and physical processes, to even the outright breakdown of said matter. Again, it’s not a limitless force to reckon with. It takes precision, and at times patience, as thing won’t always happen instantly, and only so much can be done to certain matter within a short time period. But on that hand, little Aether is required to perform such actions. Personality: One would be hard pressed to find a sister any more unlike her brother. Sarah is sort of like that shattered mother figure in the scheme of a family. She’s the one that people aren't always sure of. She's pretty much quiet, and unsure of herself, seeing as she's already failed at sticking with her family, and holding things together. Silently, she does what she can to keep her comrades out of harm's way, especially within the facility, where things the roughest. But she has a bit of a confidence issue when it comes to Actually dealing with the problems, for more often then not, she cowers unless there is more than her own life on the line. She needs to know she is needed, and cared of in order to function properly. Biography: Despite being younger than Kai, Sarah can remember the earlier days of their lives pretty clearly. It's just a sort of skeleton of a memory, lacking any meat; but it's a general idea, which is what keeps her going. She rembees that their parents had been the caring kind, far from able to just let their children get carted off. No, they weren't the sort that would spoil the two; they were your normal, middle tier parents, that distributed justice accordingly (most of the time). But other than that, she remembers nothing. She knows nothing of the incident that landed her and Kai into The Facility; and naturally, she wouldn't, as she was asleep when the matter went down. Everything from there is just a blur until coming into the facility, where she watched her brother go aggressive, and ultimately, become programmed. She still resides within the facility, locked up, and watched over by Kai like a worm in the eyes of a bird. Will add a profile for said sister once it's ready. I'm not too good at describing female characters in terms of appearance, so it'll take some thinking. And if I may, I'd like to reserve Magenta as the color code for his sister.
((I did attack the heartless via 'magical' means in my previous post)).
Oooooh. Hmmm... Dark stuff. Dark stuff indeed.
Ah. Reading through it just made feel like it was something that would have been tank for a conclusion. And thank you. Giant Chicken = PWN!
I figure... My current RP (if it gets a few more people) will be used as a means of transition into none other than a more elaborate remake of The...
