I think true gamers know how to make the most out of the smallest things. I sat around for about ten minutes repeatedly ripping off and replacing the ducktape on Harley Quinn's mouth (Arkham City) just because.

I'll watch as long as the hate commentary increases in small increments throughout the game until it's finally just you screaming into the mic about how that store should get your f'ing pants because you've hated on the game so much that you have nothing else left to say about it. Then we just get to listen to you rant and rave the rest of the time and occasionally make a joke about what's currently going on in the gameplay.

Promise me this and I'm in ;)

That, my friend, would be called alcohol poisoning.

I broke a guys fan once, apparently. I'd imagine traffic cones are slightly more important though so kudos on being better than me at drunken criminal activities.

An add-on like this would not be easy and likewise would not be cheap. It would require a lot (I'm guestimating at least 1000+ lines of code and several weekends to get right) of work to make a feature like this. Forums aren't really built with a lot of name change features because typically, in a lot of forums, you're stuck with the name you got. The one exception to this rule that I can think of was vB's feature for storing old usernames in the database (something I personally think XenForo should have went with). It would require a listener to wait for the action (a username change from the ACP) to grab the old name then the new one for use in the alert. It would then have to create the alert (I'm guessing something like, "User changed their name to Member" or something) and send it out specifically to anyone following the user having their name changed.

It actually seems like more work now that I've typed all that down. I'd guestimate at least fifty USD to have someone create this add-on, if not more.

I personally would like to see this created an implemented on the site.

Actually this is extremely possible however far above it may be from my pay grade. It would require custom php scripts and whatnot so it would know to grab the username currently stored on the server for the user id 'xxx'. Setting up the bbcode through the ACP wouldn't be too difficult. You'd have to have a php file and a listener to reference with the bbcode, which would be the difficult part. I'm good on html and css tricks but php/java escapes me. If I had to put an estimate on the worth of the work this would require I wouldn't go any higher than ten to twenty USD.

I might even make this a project to force myself to learn a little php. You weren't too far off in the bbcode usage either though I think [USERID*=xxxx][/userid] would probably be the final method for using the bbcode.

EDIT: Forgot to actually give an opinion *derp* I'd like to see this implemented on the site that way you could reference a member and it change with their username. Alternatively I'd like to see this implemented with the 'tag' feature to update with username changes.

@Yut (Tagged you cause I was testing something, sorry >.< lol)

EDIT AGAIN: After checking the current 'tag' bbcode [user*=user_id]username[/user*] I'd say it would be easier to modify the tag bbcode than to create a new one. Also there wouldn't be much point in creating a bbcode to reference a user when there already is one that sends alerts and creates links to their profile.

Without looking through all the prior posts, my first guess would be there is something wrong with your dictionary file. Every word processor has a file that tells it what is and is not a word. You can add words to your dictionary manually through most word processors. I was thinking it might be an issue with your spellchecker as well.

This might be instructions for an older version but it's still the same premise: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=55236

It looks like the application is defaulting to a different language. If that's not the problem, which it very well might not be, then you should try following this guide to reset your profile (as things can become corrupted when updating): https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?p=58403#p58403

    Hope this helped.

I like the idea of having multiple prefixes. If you're willing to foot the bill dude then it sounds like a great addition for the site.

Depends on what kind of lawnmower it is. If it's just a simple push mower, which I'm assuming it is, you'd need basic welding skills and a welder. If you lived closer to me I could stop over and weld it for you. This is of course just an easy fix. As others have said though you'd be best to just buy a new one seeing as yours is ten years old.

Living in the country provides me with such benefits as lawnmower repair know how. To be honest I'd have probably found a piece of scrap metal and a few well placed screws to reattach the wheel.

I like the idea. Fanfiction was booming back in the day but now it's slowed down a bit. I think this is a great idea. As @Plums said, adding prefixes to join the two sections together wouldn't work over to well. I'm all for this idea.

I was actually talking to @deanie weenie about this a while back, at least the part about prompts and such. I think it'd be a great idea. I'd be happy to contribute what I can to the sections. I think it would give the Literate Beans a lot more stuff do as well as the rest of the members. You could do weekly writing prompts, call it Prompt of the Week. The Writer's Nook is in need of more activity and I think this could help.

I can definitely see it costing $50. It'd be a lot of work to add such an intricate feature like choosing which pins to display. As for the option to show them or not that would be easily done with custom user fields. I'd be happy to contribute. I could probably pitch in $20 if it's going to be used in the add-on for everyone to use. I'd love to have this feature for my forum when I decide to add an awards system.

I listen to livin on a prayer every now and then. Every time I listen to that song though I think of I Gotta Feeling. That's a real picker upper song right there. I feel down, play that song, and BOOM ... ready to hit the town.

Anyway, congrats @Loxare on making it halfway. Keep on posting and you'll eventually get into the dead zone ... err ... Premium section. Look forward to seeing you there ^^

For whom exactly might it be
for which you write such poetry?
The words adorned across the page
    create such a suspenseful stage.
Tell us now so we may know
for whom it is your spirit glows.
Tell us what one must do
to have one say, "This is for you."

This wouldn't be the first time
a rhyme came at a price
it's not nice to believe it.
    Couldn't even realize
the prize was here all along
in the song I'm singing it.
Can't wait for the new day
to say I love you again.
    My friend this is~
    The end.

You got me in a poetic mood, dude.

I'm still waiting for the news report that reads: EASTER BUNNY HIDES HIS LAST EGG

Child: Mommy, what does that mean?
Mother: It means some drunk hit the Easter bunny, honey.
Child: Is he going to be alright?
    Mother: No, he's dead, silly.
Child: ... So are we gonna go buy candy or what?

I only use Firefox when I'm coding or testing certain functions so I wouldn't really know. You could always use Chrome for YouTube and Imgur and Firefox for everything else. Try what @skull joke mentioned and reinstall. You might actually have too many add-ons installed which can/will result in slow load time. If nothing else, remove any add-ons you're not using. While the cache may be the problem the majority of the time, sometimes it's not at fault ... sometimes.

If nothing mentioned works then I'd recommend making a thread (or having this one moved) in Technology. There you'll be asked for your PC specs, and loads of other stuff. You'll get better feedback and results.

If nothing else you could look for alternative add-ons for Chrome so you can switch browsers.
