A small wall of water erupted in front of the wyvern. Kairi ran up to the group, panting slightly. "Founds you guys..." She turned to the angered wyvern. "And just in time, too."
Jeffrey's hands tightened around the katana, and he gulped. This Wyvern, whether or not it was Riku, was definitely the strongest Heartless they'd seen in South America. Kairi had gotten lost in search of the group. She turned around at the sound of the Wyvern, sensing something was wrong. Sora! She ran towards the source of the noise, hoping she could make it in time.
"'It' being...?" Jeffrey asked, turning his head towards the sound. He unsheathed his katana, placing both hands on the hilt. "Well, I'm not sure if I want to know..."
The Heartless could feel a warmth in his chest. Light... in my heart...? It could feel the light grow stronger, closing its wounds. The light overwhelmed it. A shock wave of earth and dust flowed from the two, obliterating all Heartless in its path - the combined power of both of their hearts. A dark flame sank into the ground and disappeared as the light faded, leaving Jeffrey in Valerie's embrace, with no memory of his time as a Heartless. He opened his eyes to the sight of Valerie's face. "Oh, hey, Val," he stammered, his face turning red. "How did this happen?"
The Heartless jumped at the newcomers. It didn't know why it was protecting these humans, which should be its prey; it felt like it was in its instincts to protect them. It missed attacking a Yellow Opera. Two more Heartless joined the enemy - a Red Nocturne and a Blue Rhapsody - forming a triangle shape. They attacked at once, a tri-attack of fire, ice, and lightning, hitting the cat Heartless dead on. The cat Heartless crouched on the ground. Dark smoke floated from its wounds, and drops of black blood hit the ground, leaving small green flames. It knew it wouldn't be able to fight any longer, but it had to protect the two humans.
The cat Heartless jumped out of Valerie's arms, and landed neatly on its four dark legs. Its ears were turned back in warning, its eyes narrowed. If it had fur, it would be standing completely on end.
The Heartless flicked its ears at the two humans' conversation. He could feel a light coming from the girl, but it was different from that coming from the others. It was if it was receiving some of the light itself.
The cat Heartless looked up at the girl from her arms. It couldn't understand why she didn't attack it, and even more, it couldn't shake the feeling that, somehow, it knew the girl.
"Just a bit more running, Sora!" Kairi shouted, running after Eden. The cat Heartless crawled up behind Valerie. For some reason, it didn't feel like attacking the girl.
Kairi giggled. "I dunno, it looks kinda cute." The Heartless trailed closer to the group, eager to reach the source of the light.
Kairi looked down at her feet silently. The Heartless watched the strange humans. One girl had turned a Heartless back into a human! Where... is my light...?
The cat-like Heartless glared at the Neoshadow that attacked the ninja Heartless. However, it wouldn't try to stand for it, knowing it would never stand a chance in actual combat. Kairi nodded, summoning Destiny's Embrace. "Don't push yourself too much," she whispered to Sora.
The cat-like Heartless was at the edge of Eden's flame pulse. It pulled its singed claws back, hissing in frustration. Stronger than expected...
He's really putting a strain on himself... Kairi thought, stopping as Sora did. The Heartless glared at the Ninja Heartless. Prey-stealer! It crept silently behind Eden, careful to not be spotted.
"But if we go, then it might get Eden, too!" Kairi replied. "And if we run away, it can still catch up to us." The cat-like Heartless shrank back into the shadows, terrified of the Wyvern's call.
Kairi couldn't help but hug her friend. "Do you remember when you were a Heartless, Sora?" She could feel tears running down her cheeks. "Remember how I brought you back? Maybe the same thing can happen for them..." The Heartless could sense another's dark presence, but it could not spot the Ninja Heartless's location
"Hey, Sora," Kairi said, stumbling a bit as she walked up to him. "About Riku and the others..." She told the Keyblade Wielder of their friends' fate as gently as she could. "I'm sorry. Riku told me to run..." She bit her bottom lip. The Heartless's eyes flashed blue for a second. Light... a voice called to it. A strong light...
OOC: White Mushrooms got Riku, Jeffrey, and Valerie high off elixirs and their team got ambushed by Heartless. They got turned into Heartless, but Kairi escaped. BIC: Kairi could see Sora in the distance and paused. "How can I explain this to him? There's no telling how he'll react..."
