Man, KHV, I haven't composed music in weeks because of having to send my PC to repair/Not feeling inspired and I'm now I'm incredibly rusty.

I have a few ideas in mind after listening to Yngwie's Malmsteen The Seventh Sign (The song, I haven't listened to the full album yet, just a few songs) riff by riff and Killswitch Engage but I don't know if I will be able to pull them together in one theme.

I guess the only way to know and get out of this artistic block is keep trying and trying until something good comes out of it.

But I did learn some new stuff about music composing so all isn't lost.

Too bad I am still a terrible composer (Yay lack of self-confidence!)

That's a different story, before all, indeed Persona isn't "True" SMT but a spinoff (Not that's a bad thing but hear this part out)

SMT's story usually tells about Law and Chaos (Order and Freedom), about duality and no true evil or good. Angels are most of the time considered demons too (Technically daemons which is everything supernatural but you get me). And actual demons will join your side with enough conversation.

Persona's theme changes depending on the game, but it's about good vs evil most of the time.

^Some slight spoilers on SMT and the spinoff's recurring themes if you are interested.

    That said, you should consider:

-Allies don't come for free, you need to talk to them, give them some items and stuff, and hope for the best that they join you.

-They will not stay to your side for long, they are very disposable. As in, the experience scaling will kick in after a few levels and you will need to fuse them to make new allies.

-Mainstream SMT is about the dungeons, exploring, and battles, not about the story. That said it does has a story.

-2D battles can turn down some people.

That all said, the game is amazingly fun, Press Turn system is really one of the best RPG systems ever.

You should watch some gameplay footage or something before making a final call, but really, SMT is a great series, wether you choose mainstream or spinoff.

GRIND THAT DEMO LIKE IT'S SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI: NOCTURNE.

On the note of Bravely Default, I think I might get it next month given Kid Icarus: Uprising ran out of stock in the game store where I go to, and I am not a lover of Fire Emblem outside of a one-time experience with FE8 and some FE7.

I am not saying I will not like FE: Awakening, but Strategy RPGs have been never my thing outside of the Devil Survivor series (Which are incredibly fun to me)

That, and getting games here is too hard, so might as well get Bravely Default as soon as possible.

The fact I heard good impressions about it helps too.

SMTIV can only be recommended to a true SMT fan, it has incredible stuff like:

-No more shuffling in fusion, you choose what skills to choose and can even choose to not add the demon's default ones.

-Fusion search which instead of trying at random it lets you see what you can fuse with your current stock demons.

-Return of the glorious Press Turn system.

-Save anywhere (This can be mixed as it can get in the way of difficulty for some but I see it as an improvement because it doesn't hinders my experience at all)

-You can fuse demons straight from the Compendium (Have only tried this in Special fusions once, don't know if possible in normal fusions)

-No random encounters, enemies instead appear on the map.

That said, it has it's annoyances every SMT fan is used to, like:

    -Paying limbs for demons.

-Difficulty from what I played so far is mixed, every boss I faced yet has a weakness which can be exploited, but they WILL curbstomp you if you don't go Magic MC. But apparently according to a friend once you get used to exploiting the system it becomes a cakewalk with Magic MC.

-Multi-hit skills will make you lose multiple Press Turns if you whiff it multiple times (Haven't tested this but from a friend's impressions, can somebody confirm?)

The game is quite filled with stuff to do like Challange Quests (Sidequests) and very polished, though.

So yeah if you like that mainstream SMT get this.

And uh, I don't think there exists another edition other than the Limited Edition, that's the one I bought and I bought it months later. Might be wrong, though.

Yeah, there was a lot of dirt and dust inside of the cabinet, thank God it's all clean now though.

Same, I am really enjoying how open-world the game is, and no hand-holding other than the occasional hint of what to do (Even if a bit obvious at times, but eh, can deal with that).

Another thing I really like is how I would never get stuck or left with a door unopened or with an extra key (Be it due to bad design or a glitch), no matter how hard I tried (This is all from my experience, so understand that)

Don't know if it ever happened on a Zelda game because I didn't play them all but this game reeks of good game design and programming.

Paint Link is... Interesting, without going into too much spoilers for those who didn't play it and want to, it really is integrated into the dungeons and puzzles without making it seem forced. It feels very natural once you get used to it.

(Random KH-Blogs thread, ignore if you don’t care)

First of all, about my sudden absence, here’s what happened.

A few days ago, my computer starting resetting itself at random, radarada, I sent it for repairs; person said the video card and motherboard were busted because they were picking up a lot of heat.

I go to the person I’m used to sending it to (Don’t ask me why I sent it to a different person, I am open to trying out new things). Booted it up in front of said person… And tada, computer was working perfectly fine, no heat, no resetting, all I needed was some cleaning, which the other person did.

So yeah, what should been a 4-day-at-most cleaning turned into a week-ordeal of taking the computer here, there and everywhere.

Alternatively, I’m just too shy and I don’t have much to talk about. Or I can be seen as a person who likes to stockpile on stuff to talk about before talking about it in order to not kill the conversation too fast.

    (End KH-Blogs post)

Oh yeah, I played a lot of A Link Between Worlds to pass the time. With a side-dish of SMTIV. Would easily recommend both but SMTIV can be only recommended to true SMT fans (AKA those who pay with limbs for demons, but still the game has a cool, Devil Survivor-like fusion system, basically you pick the skills while fusing and can overwrite skills). I haven’t played much of it but from what I played it is pretty good, though.

So yeah, that was my end-year to new year week, how was yours? c:

Don't ask why I felt like posting a topic like this, I just felt like doing so haha.

I got a Blue Nintendo 3DS XL + Shin Megami Tensei IV + Pokemon Y + The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

All of those games are too godlike (Specially SMTIV, or maybe that's my love of SMT acting up) and completely justify the 3DS purchase.

And some other random stuff. c:

    Time to bump.

Deleted the original songs part because ASW is on a rampage on YT and I saw my link to Gluttony Fang get deleted.

Also, new cover, Ragna’s theme, also known as Rebellion.

This will probably be the last bump until I get a post that isn’t mine in here given I see no motivation to keep doing this, I started doing this as a way to people to enjoy my music and maybe get some critique so I can improve, but I don't see people enjoying my music or even giving it critique, so yeah. :l

Oh well, sometimes things don't go according as planned.

Last Bump, I swear (Somebody please post in here :l)

New cover, this time “Childish Killer/Cross Line” (I swear that’s the most random name ever, who got to name the BlazBlue tracks, anyways?), the theme of Jin vs Tsubaki, I replaced those Engrish-y vocals with something more… Smooth. Also if any of the links doesn’t works just tell me.

Also I’m trying my hardest to fix Relius’s theme, but I can’t because I can’t preview this before I render the song, because the moment I touch the Play button = The CPU rages at me.

Also I wish I could upload my cover of Azrael’s theme, but I can’t, ASW is on a full rampage purging left and right.

So next is Condemnation Wings, Rebellion or given I can fix it, Plastic Night again.

Oh, and I still need to make a Soundcloud. No YouTube for me given it merged almost symbiotically with Google+. :l

I understand completely to be honest, after watching Persona 4 Arena be an Aigis, Chie and Mitsuru-fest, I wouldn't want anything like that to happen to any other game. Period.

And there's a good heap of info saying most of Kokonoe's neutral is very scary (Very good normals outside of the obviously-slow ones, 3C vacuums in and is barely unsafe, Attract + Icegun is amazingly lols, etc). Feel free to correct me on that though, it's all stuff I keep hearing from forums and stuff given her frame data isn't there yet.

And yeah, her combos and setups are really good, but quoting a gaming news site on another character "Planner Kyohei Kato jokes that Kagura might be even be a little too powerful, but as long as Hakumen and his overpowered combos are around, everything will work out fine."

So yeah, even if some characters are really good compared to others, I don't really see Kokonoe or even HakuMen getting fixed unless a ChronoPhantasma 2 situation happens. And ASW aren't as patch-happy like let's say... NetherRealm Studios or even Capcom. They don't fix characters individually or crumble that easily to the masses's collective complaining (As fundamentally-right as it is). Or they plain don't care until the next version of the game.

Plus there's the fact they are currently working on two games right now (Persona 4 Ultimax and Guilty Gear Xrd), so their teams might be not be able to do a full rebalance.

So yeah, got to get used to it. :l

But yeah, on another news, we HakuMen now:

    From Dustloop's Wiki:

    Armament No01
    [Senmetsu Choudokyuu Golden Tager]
    2363214C, j.2363214C

    Damage: 5510-13110 (5176 mid-air)

-Damage can be increased by holding C and rotating the stick. Can't charge aerial version.
-Takes 7 360's to reach maximum damage.

GET READY TO CHURN THAT BUTTER.

And yeah, I've heard a lot of complaints against her, she also has an unblockeable setup which only selected characters can get out (Like for example, Carl with Vivace, Valkenhayn with Sturm Wolf, Terumi with Jakyou Messenga/The charge Super), or otherwise the only way out is Burst. Said unblockeable setup leads to 7K damage if 25 extra meter are burnt:

But yeah, that burns 75 Meter in total, and unless her match-ups are pure 9-1s I don't see her getting banned anytime soon.

    Actually, they do.

Somebody once did a Cover/Remix of the Six Heroes theme, and it got took down, that person had to fight it back with all that it got with one of ArcSys representatives to get permission to upload it again (And this is all EVEN THOUGH it was his own version of the theme and not the real thing).

I though it used to be a thing because Yuhki from Galneryus worked on the remixes, but I now I see they are clearly trying to not let anyone upload anything BB apart from matches/Combo Videos/Anything related to actual fighting. Music, Story (I know some videos have slipped them in this department but they have been purging left and right NicoVideo apparently), EVEN when the ChronoPhantasma announcement trailer came out they deleted anyone else's but Famitsu's trailer (Or it was their own channel's? I forgot. You get me). And this all happened since the announcement of ChronoPhantasma (But I THINK we can go back if my memory doesn't fails me to them purging Extend's Story videos)...

Not saying they are in the right or wrong for doing that, I'm just... Stating what's happened from my own visual experience and what I saw from Dustloop. Though it makes me wonder if doing all of this is any good for them or their reputation.

    :l

BUT YEAH, ON ANOTHER NEWS, KOKONOE IS OUT:

    HELLO YOU ALL.

HAVE SOME HAKUMEN BEING HAKUMEN YOU ALL:

(Get used to seeing your victories being frustrated by this guy or learn him, your choice)

Also, US release date apparently set for March 2014 with a limited edition: http://www.aksysgames.com/2013/11/0...e-march-2014-limited-edition-price-announced/

Huge gap may be given there's no translated text on the JPN version, and some battle ENG voiceovers are missing (I think I heard Litchi with a blank line vs Kagura once). There's also that there's a lot stuff to localize voice-wise now (Like the system announcers, the aforementioned missing lines and of course, Story/Arcade Modes)

But given the high sales rate for the JPN version, it's safe to assume most people who are BB fans already imported, lol (Or atleast I can guess given Dustloop's high import rate)

Sadly I will be passing on this game and Xrd given no PS3, but I DO know somebody who has one, so I might get to play atleast Xrd.

On another news, ASW has been as of lately taking all the ChronoPhantasma OST rips, but eh, it's not like I liked the remixes that much outside of X-Matic II anyways. I am a sucker for The Tyrant and Six Heroes, but those were composed by Daisuke himself apparently.

BACK TO BACK, DEATH COMES ARRIVING ON A MIDNIGHT TRAIN.
BACK TO BACK, CONSCIOUSNESS DRIFTING TO THE END.

Please bear with my rustyness, it's been too long since I made avatars.

Decided to take some screencaps of the Xrd site and two Slayer images I found randomly.

Meant to be used as Skype Display Pictures (Hence the 160 x 160 size), but can be used for these forums if you feel like. Just please be kind and do say if you are going to use one for your Skype/This forum so somebody else doesn't use it too. :l

Also I used those PhotoShop Actions Misty shared back then for most of these, so I guess I can't take all the credit for these. Haha.

If you'd like one on a bigger/smaller size do tell me and I guess I can try to make it to your like, but I can't promise anything.

MIGHT make some more later, given I can get some more decent quality Xrd pictures.

Le Bump (Hopefully the last one given someone else posts in here).

Fixed Gluttony Fang, check the first post for the new version. Some of the improvements include:

-A different drum set (Which fits better this song given the Snares and Crashes sound nicer for this song and the Crashes replicate the effect of the original song better)
-A new synth in place (Some… Pseudo Rock Organ)
    -Different Lead Guitar.
-Different Amp for the Lead Guitar.
-A clear/more defined solo thanks to the louder guitars.
-I Amped the Bass and put the volume on it up (Which I forgot before…)

The original synth stays in place; it’s the closest I could find to whatever Daisuke used for the original Gluttony Fang.

That should be good enough for now until I get another of my “THIS SOUNDS LIKE GARBAGE OR COULD SOUND BETTER” attacks. :l

I am also in the process of cleaning up Plastic Night, but I need to do some mixing up because the main chorus sounds too meshed up right now.

And I’m still awaiting your opinions on the Soundcloud/Youtube idea and what cover you’d like to see next. :l

In the Image tab on Photoshop, there's an "Apply Image" option, which basically takes a screenshot of whatever you are currently working on and puts it on the layer currently selected, think of Printscreen but without the need of cropping everything that isn't the current image you are working on. Mostly used on empty layers to sharpen the whole image or, as I did too, make them clipping masks.

Anything else you couldn't get? But we better talk this over in PMs, visitor messages or something like that (I'm getting kinda off-topic right now)

And yeah, don't worry too much about it, it's meant to be unreadeable. Haha.

It's okay, the important thing is that atleast you tried. Your critique seems pretty easy to follow too.

Yeah, the bright dots of color may be too much, but I was afraid it would look too plain otherwise, let me fix this: [IMG]

And yeah, Terumi's placement on the Avatar is... Just bad, and it looks kinda plain, so let me just fix this too: [IMG]

Sadly as you can see, I can't move it too much without blocking off some of the BG effects on the left and right (Which actually exist as you can see when Terumi's face isn't covering the entire thing). But eh, maybe I'll try my luck with Avatars later. This one was mostly done to shake off the rust.

Yeah I want to use Azrael too. Even if as a sub, haha.

The huge text is actually trial and error, I do it like this: You make an Apply Image of the entire thing and then make it a clipping mask over the text, move it until a part of it looks nice, duplicate it and move it again until it looks nice on another part of the text, then delete whatever is over the first place that looked nice on the second Apply Image (So you can look at it again). Don't know if I explained myself very well (Please make me know). Very rarely I can do that in one Apply Image.

The small text is meant to be unredeable (As in, just there for the cool factor), it says "The Tyrant rises from his slumber, angered by his own nightmares, it proceeds to chase upon his enemies", I don't know how it became seemingly readable, I did the same as with the Terumi signature.

    But yeah, thanks again.

First of all oh my god thank you so much for actually critiquing my stuff.

Secondly, yeah, I understand what you mean, but the thing is that blotch of color was originally a space background, which I blurred and smudged over because it looked too sharp/grainy for my taste (The white sharpened dots on it just killed it), but let's try to fix this shall we: [IMG]

I pasted his emblem again, this time on the form of a clipping mask, any better?

    Again sorry but, Bump.

New cover, this time Mu-12’s theme AKA Sword of Doom AKA the Hoenn version (TRUMPETS) (Also might want to lower your volume maybe just a bit, IDK how but it kinda sounds louder than my other covers). Tried to give it a more orchestral feeling ala “Who Wants to Live Forever?” (Except my cover is not as good as the Queen Song, of course)

I’ve been thinking about retouching Hazama’s cover a bit because:

A - The guitars don’t sound loud enough. Which makes the Solo not sound clear enough. It sounds kinda messy in it's current state.

B – The guitars don’t sound METAL enough. Which makes me sad. I originally wanted the song to have a more Pop-like feeling given its Hazama which we are talking about. But no, my style is Rock/Metal it seems.

Also, I’ve been thinking about making a YouTube or a Soundcloud or something like that for you people to comment better my songs. What do you think?

Finally, what cover would you like to see next? I have Rebellion and Jin vs Tsubaki ready to be uploaded, and Azrael’s theme ready to be tuned up.
