idk ive only seen it once. but man ive never seen a movie where the viewing experience was so divisive. not just the reaction but its like everyone talking about this movie saw a different movie.

I hesitate to say I loved Lex but... I kinda loved Lex. But I'm already a guy who gravitates towards the mad-scientist incarnations of Lex because business tycoon Lex just isnt as fun imo. I love how manic he is. I love how well-read he is. If there was ever any doubt about this Lex it was completely washed away when he quoted Nabokov. and overall i liked his motivation/scheme. very lex. and appropriate for a movie about altruism i guess. people say it reminds them of riddler from B-man Forever and I'm like... yeah... but only so far as he's a smart guy who's a little wacky. and Lex has always been a smart guy. so unless Riddler has a trademark on wacky idk what the deal is.

this lex follows the trend of this entire series in that nothing is as you would expect it to be from an entry point and seeing it settle into something more familiar is part of the appeal


im seeing a lot of criticisms for this movie where, not even trying to defend it, i have no idea what they're talking about. like theyre must be multiple cuts of this movie circulating bc some things people are saying I just did not see in this movie at all or they did not see things i saw. i dont want to start making excuses but I think a lot of people had already made up their minds that this was going to be a bad bloated movie and nothing, not even the movie, could change that.

just saw bvs. biggest problem with it is characterization isnt as solid as i would like. if im to believe that supermans character is a guy who wants to be purely altruistic but doesnt quite know what that is and the world wont let him be the good guy he wants to be, and that batmans character is a guy jaded from decades of crimefighting and doesnt believe altruism exists anymore, than i love it. but the problem is snyder, who doesnt bring that into focus enough. and people criticize martha and john for not being the moral backbone of the character but i think this is almost more human. they want their son to do what is right but more than anything they want their son to be happy, and that clark choses to do good only reinforces his character. all in all i quite liked it but its almost more of an episode than a movie. theres not much of a singular story there. its just people reacting to what has happened and seeding things for whats going to happen. and in that i see where people have problems but it doesnt bother me? i like what it is and im willing to judge the movie for what its doing, knowing that the movie knows that its a smaller part of a larger whole. i think its good.

i listened to one guys opinion thats usually close to mine and decided i wasnt gonna see it
then another guy whose opinion is also p close to mine said he loved the movie
so i decided **** it im gonna see it for myself and make up my own mind
at the end of the day it doesnt matter. its relatively inconsequential

bought the last dats of krypton novel which should get here friday so thats exciting

yeah he's one of the more prominent characters but thats good because he's the only interesting one

from what i understand, it being different wasn't the problem. the problem was that it was bad.

i mean like every episode the minicons had different names. and most of the time they were either called leader-1, jolt, and specifically grindor. it was a mess. but what a great show. i can easily understand why people vehemently hate it, but as a kid it was like the hottest ****. when they go to unicron in the end. o ma god

transformers armada had this thing where they could never get names right for certain characters. so as a kid when i had most of the toys, i was quite confused and aggravated by the show for lying to me constantly.

i cant stress this enough, two alll-nighters in a row may sound like a good idea in the moment when you have work to do,

i have never seen smallville and im determined that i never will
when i came back to comicbook stuff a couple years ago it was through a youtube channel that had a popular show dedicated to ripping smallville apart, so that mysterious show i knew nothing about as a kid was now this show that everyone almost unanimously hated. and then arrow started and everything got out of control.
