i actually don't like brand new they're a brand of post-hardcore that never appealed to me - a side that's more indie. i tried to like them, i really really did, but they're one of those things that's just not for me despite seeming like they should be. but i never thought to play that for her. thats a good idea.[DOUBLEPOST=1459878921][/DOUBLEPOST] she told me one time "if it has screaming in it, i won't listen to it." i dont know how to deal with that and lets be clear im not actively trying to get her to like music i like. i do not care. its just an aggravating thing i see in people these are usually the same people who call any band with any amount of screaming "screamo" thrice and at the drive-in are not screamo.

one of my friends has this stupid thing, and the only reason i bring this up is because i know there are a lot of people like is, where if there's any screaming in music she just automatically won't listen to it. and that frustrates me because (now i cant play like any music i like for her) there's no appealing to that. there's no "well the music's great if you can just get past the vocals." theres a lot of music i like where i have to almost tune out the vocals because i dont like them. hell, i ALWAYS like singing over screaming. and i almost never remark on good screaming. just not my thing. but to see a person ignore all musical value based on the fact that theres unclean vocals is just such an alien menality to me. what the **** decade is this? do you have a kid who's rockin out to i want to hold your hand? christ. get over it. i understand not liking music. i dont like rap. but the reason i dont like it is not the rapping itself, i can get past that. its the music. so to say you wont give anything with x vocal quality a chance seems so ****ing childish. like im here vibin on this and i cant play it for them because despite all of the stellar music and vocals some of those vocals arent clean

im going to trust that he knows what will kill a guy. i dont think that would but it may paralyze them in which case daredevil kills all quality of life, which can be argued to be as bad as murder. however in comics theres this universal suspension of disbelief that every living being can take an astronomical amount of damage and not die. so while he's brutalizing these guys, its not the same as shooting them in the face, which in the case of comics is all that really matters. because watching a guys in red devil and black bat costumes just isnt as fun if theyre not ****ing these guys up.

i also want to say that i dont dislike his movies as much as most people. i dont like them, but i dont have this seething hatred for them either. they're harmless. i dont mind them. batman and robin's not in any way good, but at least its not trying to deceive its audience into thinking its this deeply intellectual sophisticated story with trailerbait dialogue like "everyone's been so impressed with what he can do that no one asks what he should do" and "if god is all powerful than he cannot be all good, and if god is all good he cannot be all powerful" and other insulting stuff like that. batman and robin is horrible schlock and its owns it. i want to think a draft of bvs that's sophisticated exists because there's real talent in the people working on it, and that we just didn't get to see that script realized because of director. but i could be wrong.
the difference is that the problem with schumacher's movies was studio interference. this is entirely snyder's fault. also, batman and robin may have been bad, but it was a harmless bad. so what if a batman movie comes out and it sucks, they'll just make another one in a couple years. bvs very well could have ruined the entire dc movie verse unless other creators are willing to unabashedly deny it and zak snyders nonsense. because what we have here is the beginning of something that is inherently flawed. it cant get better given what we have because, without spoiling anything, bvs took some extreme liberties for what is only the 2nd movie in a series with characters that could have been made to be good characters but weren't because snyder wants gratuitous consequence-free action. now im just ranting. i kinda hate snyde. for whatever reason he keeps getting these important projects that need to be handled with care, but zack snyders not a guy who should be given anything other than the next fast and furious movie. this must be what people who care about transformers feel like.
zack snyder needs to be more careful about the movies he puts out. everything wrong with bvs and mos was very clearly because of him. so when future dc movies come out that will most certainly be better than anything he's done and go against the things he's done in them as openly as they possibly can, he very much could become like public enemy number 1 in comic book movies. ben affleck was not happy with snyder for the things he did after shooting, and given that he's writing and directing the batman stand-alone it's entirely possible that he tries to right the wrongs snyder did. and whatver the presumed next superman movie is will have to iron out that characters moral compass that currently is non-existant thanks to snyder. my point is we're two movies into this series, both of which are directed by snyder, both of which are very polarizing if not just disliked, and everything aside form JL that's coming after it seems to have much more potential because it will have hindsight into what bvs and mos did wrong because of snyder, and they're not directed by snyder.
Spoiler its an analogy. a disappointing piece of a larger part that was at one point the absolute best another analogy it's like if empire strikes back wasnt one of the best movies. its like if empire strikes back was just kinda okay. what makes dd s2 disappointing is not that its not as good as s1, its that whats happening in it requires it to be good for the sake of the larger story at play. but its just not as good as it needs to be. everything thats happening is a big ****ing deal and it's being pulled in two directions, punisher and elektra. it may not be as messy as rises but its not as crisp and clean as s1 by a long shot. the point is dd s2 is just "good" where dd s1 was "oh my god this is literally the best thing ever"
my non-spoiler dd s2 thoughts. it may influence the way you view it though. Spoiler dd s2 is the dark knight rises to dd s1's batman begins. its good, bus not as good, and by the end you cant help but wonder where that magic that seemed so effortless went. not wholly disappointing, but comparatively so to something that's, without speaking in hyperbole, the best comic book adaptation ive seen. give me one more season and then be done with this character.
