Dude, I can remember my first day of college like it was yesterday, and what you're going through is normal. Even though I had taken classes on the campus during summer, by the time fall rolled around on my freshman year, I didn't know jack. I got lost all the time, was afraid to ask for directions, and was rushed by so many people pushing their clubs, fraternities, whatever else. Basically what I'm saying is what you're going through is perfectly normal. Hell, I start up another semester this coming Thursday, and I still feel nervous about it, even though I know the campus and familiar with the buildings. The best advice I can say is just go with the flow. Don't be afraid to ask for help, since there are probably a group of people who are there to help out new people. If you feel overwhelmed, it's okay to hide in the bathroom or in the library and just breath. Professors are usually understanding about people being late on the first day. College isn't what you're high school teachers scared you into thinking; it's basically a more laid back version of high school. Just get some rest, tell yourself "you're not alone", and always be aware. Trust me, in about two weeks, you'll get into the swing of things and everything will feel natural (until Finals Week).
I've actually been to a church much like this one. While the pastor there never hurt anybody (that I know of), I can definitely say that the two pastors are very similar. I'm really disturbed by how open the pastor is about punching a kid right in the chest, but what really disgusts me is how calm the congregation is. What the pastor did was absolutely wrong, but the fact that everyone listening to this stays silent just rubs me the wrong way. There are only two scenarios that I imagine is going on in the congregation. One, they aren't even really listening to him; they're so engrossed in the "spirit" of the church, that they'll listen to whatever he says (like in the beginning of The Last Exorcism). The other scenario is that they actually believe what he did was write. I know a lot of "church people" who think that as long as the Holy Spirit is inside the person, it doesn't matter what the pastor had to do.
I don't mind if someone makes fun of something I like (in fact, I'm all for bashing on things I like), but this guy was just going for the low hanging fruit. Tell some jokes.
Seems kind of iffy to me. What threw me off was his comment of only doing the audio first and they animate later. That is done in animation, but Kingdom Hearts is a different animal all together since it's adapted from a foreign country, where it was already made. The only kind of animation that is done when they adapt the game is probably with the mouth flaps (and minor edits here and there) Don't they usually have to sign NDAs while they're working on something though?
I honestly have not read that much recently, and most of the books I started last year remain unfinished (Ender's Game, The Silkworm). And a lot I did finish I ended up not liking (The Fault in our Stars). All that being said, the best book I read last year was Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. It's said to be a spiritual successor to The Giver (and apparently is linked to that world in further books I have not read), so that was my main interest. I honestly fell in love with it early on. It told a really gripping story, had a really good disabled lead, and captured a lot of great imagery.
Everyone have a happy new year! Got to start mine off really well by seeing my doctor and getting good news; plus, I got to visit LA for a few days. i just really want a xion pin, okay
- I think I made a few resolutions last year, but I can't really remember them. One I do remember is that I told myself I was going to write/finish a feature length movie script, which I actually did accomplish. It still needs a lot of editing, but I actually finished writing it. - I keep telling people that Revenge the Sith is better than what's perceived. Yes, it has problems, but it's one of the more fleshed out stories in the series, and had some really good moments. I mean...Anakin killing younglings. - There's really no resolution for me this year, simply because I'm lazy and I rarely make resolutions to begin with. - To answer my own question, I would go with Skillet. Their latest album, Rise, sort of has a narrative, so that would be the base, but they definitely have some really good songs that lend themselves to a narrative. - Jayn really is such a sweet person. I can honestly say that she's one of the most talented people I've ever known and say that she's worth supporting! - "Like to have you like that" M-m-misty-Senpai, this is so sudden...
I like the way it looks with no capitalization. Looks neater.
Naw, just a. Ame change. Too lazy to change to another, haha

*Playing Kingdom Hearts 2* Me: Oh! I finally unlocked the flight ability. Brain: You should totally go back and get some of those puzzle pieces. Me: Bu, I don't NEED to. All I have left to do is the final Xemnas battle. Brain: Yes, but, if you get more pieces, you can do the puzzles. You love puzzles. Me: But I want to finish the story before I leave to LA on Sunday. Brain: But...THE PUZZLES! Me:...Well, I'll still have another week before school starts when I get back from LA to finish things up...
In the simplest of words, how would you suggest someone experience a series that was not released in a chronological order? This being a Kingdom Hearts forum, I decided to use Kingdom Hearts as my main example. Now, before these remasters, where they are neatly bundled together, we had the individual games. If someone were to want to get into Kingdom Hearts, their big question would be to where they would want to start. There exists two possibilities (discounting just starting from starting at any random place): the order in which the games were released, and the order in which the stories are in chronological order. Release Order (Japan): Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts: Coded, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance Chronological Order: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts: Coded, and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance Now, both have their merit. The release order will give the player a similar experience to those who have followed the series from the very beginning. As well, there are various twists and turns that are revealed that help enrich the narrative. In chronological order, the story is somehow easier and more difficult to follow, but you see a natural progression. Another example of alternative viewing order is that with the first season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. When it was released on television in Japan, the episodes were premiered in a seemingly random order (1 3 8 4 10 9 11 14 5 13 12 6 7), but somehow were able to pull off a cohesive story and a strong ending. In the subsequent DVD releases however, they are in chronological order, with episodes 2-7 telling a cohesive story while the rest are side stories and has a rather disappointing final episode. So, when someone wants to try out the series for the first time, which order would be more preferable to help enhance their experience? And, of course, this idea of “viewing orders” stems much further into different forms of storytelling. And that leads me to my ultimate question: is there an overall “better” experience when it comes to these kinds of stories? Does it depend on the genre, or the series itself? Or, does it even matter at all?
I've heard news about this movie for a long time, and the hell that it went through. It all has sort of been tumbling on myself, losing its original writer/director, as well as most likely not focusing on the Ant-Man that people want to see (which includes a back story of dealing with domestic violence). Still, it's Marvel, and there seems to be a lot of promise behind it. However, Guardians of the Galaxy to me proved that Marvel can make big flubs, which brings me back to my earlier point.
it's better than having no immune system and getting the flu, like, every other week for the past two months.
Thought I logged into tumblr for a second...
So, you're saying that none of your time there involved getting yourself clean, having a good meal, or doing whatever you feel?
But my question is...is it fun to play at?
I hope things sort them out for you soon, Jayn. You're someone whose always been there to help me, so I wish there was some way that I could help you, because I really want to. If you ever need someone to talk with, you can contact me any time.
And I'm noticing all the little differences, especially in the music. Like, the theme to Twilight Town has familiarity to it, but it's also very different, and I like it. The fight music is also well done. And then there's the music where you travel between worlds. Holy shit! That music is terrifying. It sounds like something that would be background music for a creepy pasta narration. I was not ready for this!
