When your not doing anything every single day. Life passes you by. You say your a freshmen right? I think your priority should come first then to be last. Make some plans for yourself, go to mall make new friends but keep the ones you have. Maybe like an socialite, that you could talk to. Also about that fitting in w/ the Cool ppl. It is being set by one of the programs that you run. You will have to resort to the process of elimination to find out which one. You can begin the process by not starting any program that uses the microphone. Also,That's by Windows design - otherwise you would be hearing what the mic picks up all the time, if it's plugged in and the volume is high enough. It's supposed to be muted by default in the main mixer in Windows, and when you use a program that can use a mic, it's supposed to be automatically un-muted while using the program. If the program that is supposed to un-mute it automatically is poorly written or if it isn't installed properly, that may not work properly. And obviously you must have your sound drivers installed properly.
Try Acers, or Sony. I prefer Acers because it has a input digital software.
The Best version, that helps alot is either McAfree or Nortion Security Spyware. I recommend both, but McAfree is faster. But Nortion gets and find every little detail.
