I love this series! To be honest this is actually the best portrayal of Sherlock Holmes to me. Though I only read A Study in Scarlet and watched the recent movies, so that and this is pretty much my only exposure to the whole story. Sucks that I have to wait for the 2nd series to show up on Netflix though since I live in NA and the web player at BBC doesn't broadcast here (something about rights).
Yeah I noticed that too! Congrats and nice to meet you too! I don't know much about Type-0 but your audition was pretty flawless! Hope to hear...
My body is ready Mike! As for that appointment thing, yeah I can use some advice if you've got any! The path of a Voice Actor is an endless one, for there are limitless characters, which make for limitless opportunities and limitless ways to master those opportunities! For those who choose to voice act expect something new every time! Lol I was trying to come up with some epic statement about voice acting but that's the best I've got.
Lol yeah Megaman Legends is awesome! Well if you're looking for something to compare it to it's a lot like Kingdom Hearts in terms of gameplay...
Well to make it seem more fair most of the people up there on the cast list are already veterans in KH-vids.net fan dubs and from what I can tell they're just reprising the roles that they've played before so don't worry too much as to which site they're auditioning from. I think they're also the pre-picked choices Mike mentioned in past updates as well...not sure what happened to the pre-picked Riku though. Also if it makes you feel better in the Birth by Sleep fan dub production I was picked when I was auditioning for the first time in my life as well.
I have no clue why but I'm in a fan dubbing mood lately so I'll definitely send in an audition tomorrow! Quick suggestion though I think Line 2 is written awkwardly you may want to erase the "-ed" from "wanted"
Looks like it was combination of chibiwings and StrawhatSoul's explanations as to what was going on that was right. Gah, the role of Sora has escaped my grasp once again! D:< lol but that's alright there are other roles, Hope isn't gone yet! (He just got older in XIII-2!...ok ok bad pun) Yen Sid is awesome! Though the DUN DUN sound effect between each flash could use some work, I could hear the "...ta" or something like that it keeps distracting me lol. Though it's fine as it is since it's probably hard to find that particular sound effect. Anyways NemesisPrime do not fret an important step in voice acting is to accept rejection and observe the way the chosen ones did in the final trailer so you can improve your own take on the character! ...then come back the next time fan dub auditions are held and TAKE WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY YOURS! *ahem* I mean audition again with the goal of doing better than what you did before using those observations as a starting point. Also, practice makes perfect, if you keep going with it eventually you will get better so keep auditioning and one day victory shall be yours! XD
When I say incomplete cast list I mean it only towards the fan dubs run by Mike. What I mean by "...I've never seen an incomplete cast list" is that he usually emails only the people who got the final roles the characters they're playing as and the lines needed for the complete trailer. However, in my experience from past productions with Mike I've never seen him send that email with a role left blank, all the roles are usually filled. Though this is all speculation, he could very well be trying to decide who gets which role, in fact now that I think about it if the lines NemesisPrime heard from the preview were just Yen Sid's audition lines it could've just meant that Mike was testing out that VA for the role and wanted NemesisPrime's opinion, which pretty much collapses my whole theory...or maybe this is all a test and he is just watching us try to figure out what's taking so long *looks around all paranoid-like* XD
Hmm...Hey NemesisPrime that preview Mike showed you the other day was it already voiced in English by a fan dub member? If it was then it means he already chose at least some of the cast (or all, though I'm more leaning towards all since I've never seen an incomplete cast list before). What I'm thinking is that someone didn't turn in their lines for the trailer yet, most likely Mike gave them until the 1st to do so and now is the 1st day of it being late. Oh and if anyone is actually in the fan dub reading this can you at least tell us if you guys got an email with a cast list/lines? I know Mike sometimes says not to release stuff he posts in his emails but the video is late...a simple yes or no on if you received such an email will suffice.
I bet that pin would be awesome to use at a Tin Pin Slammer match! Can I have one?
Hmm...it is a bit weird that the video is taking this long to be completed. Maybe it's going to be released during the day light hours to get the most views? I mean what better way to celebrate the New Year than with a fan dub? Either way there is still a day left, if it's still not up then for sure something is up.
Probably after...based on my past experiences working on the fan dub. It has been two days since the deadline so I'm guessing the people who got the parts were already emailed and are currently recording the rest of the lines needed for the trailer. Though like Peace-and-War said holidays are pretty hectic so there is a chance things are getting delayed, or maybe many people sent in a bunch of auditions at the last minute meaning there needs to be time to consider them thoroughly before making a decision. Oh and audition lines do sometimes get used in the final product if that's all a character is going to say and if the audition is pretty good to begin with.
I'm guessing the auditions for this is still open? If it is, I'll be sending in an audition or two sometime in the near future!
Yes you do have a chance, everybody with a voice has a chance. I know waiting for the results are hectic but try not to think that much about it and do something else in the meantime like...play Kingdom Hearts! =D If you're still hung up over it just audition for another character, from the above post it seems there is a lot of room for more auditions. Even if you think you can't possibly do a character do it anyway that's the fun of voice acting you can be whoever you want. You sent in your auditions, you did everything you could possibly do to make it in. If you did your best be proud of it.
Sent in an audition for Joshua, Lea, Vanitas, and Sora! I also sent in one for Neku, don't worry about that one but if it isn't a problem I would like to know what you think.
Well I think you should audition for as much roles as you can, I mean it just adds more varied selections to the person picking the final roles and it shows interest in the fan dub altogether. Plus there are some roles that won't even get as much auditions, in the Birth by Sleep fan dub I sent in an audition I thought for sure wasn't going to make it but I got it anyway most likely because there weren't as much people auditioning for the character.
OMG the trailer was SO much better than I imagined it! All previous thoughts of this being a side story (though I never really thought that about any of the games except for Re:coded and a bit of Days) has completely left my mind. As for the CG opening I see there's a new style to the way it is being done which I'm having a bit of mixed feelings for. Why I don't like it is that it makes the characters seem kinda action figurey if that makes sense and the way they generally look is a bit odd, what I do like is that there is a lot more detail and the lighting is very dynamic. I'm guessing by the instrumental song that the song is gonna be Simple and Clean again or maybe just the instrumental version of Simple and Clean since this is probably the last major trailer to be released until the game officially releases in March. As for the fan dub, awesome I'll probably end up sending a whole bunch of auditions since there are more characters that fit my vocal range now. XD Though I do have a suggestion, I think Riku and Sora should have a bit more audition lines since they're featured throughout the trailer. Also I think the lines for Riku are kinda low on the emotion scale, what I mean is that I'm predicting a lot of monotone auditions for him if it's just those lines, I think you should just add the rest of the scene where Riku is shouting for Sora just to even it out.
A new world!? *cue Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Magic Carpet for the song* Lol but seriously awesome, so with the exception of Traverse Town (though there are new areas in there too) pretty much new areas overall. As for my pick on what world I want Pixar would be great though something like Toy Story, not something like Cars that is just weird (though Little Mermaid was a pretty weird choice too and it got in). Pocahontas sounds great too, though I'm a little fuzzy on what happened in that movie all I remember is the scene where she's going down the river, well what better way to refresh my memory that playing it in the game! XD I just hope they put some sort of Coliseum/Mirage Arena type world, those are some of my most memorable gameplay moments (though they never did capture the same spirit as the KH1 Coliseum, which is my favorite of them all).
A Versus XIII trailer was featured (the E3 2006 one I think) but sadly only as an honorable mention not as part of the top 100 list. Anyway I was actually counting down with the site to number one and I was really pulling for this one and/or the intro to KH2 (they were also featuring intros to video games) to get on there. I lost hope somewhere around 50 something mainly because I thought Kingdom Hearts wouldn't make it that far at least compared to ALL video game trailers but was surprised to see it number 28. AWESOME!
Dream Drop Distance for me is still too new and vague in order to even come up with a theory for myself. So for now anything is possible. I'm a bit curious as to what the Dream Eaters are, apparently there are bad and good ones, the bad ones are the enemies Sora and Riku face which eat dreams and plant nightmares. And there are good ones which I'm guessing are Sora and Riku's new allies that eat nightmares. The fact that Sora and Riku can interact with these dream creatures mean they themselves might be in a state of sleep (Sora himself wondered why he has new clothes). Which all reminds me of Inception, maybe Sora and Riku were thrust into Xehanort's memories (which could tie into the random POV shot of Xehanort summoning his keyblade) by Yen Sid in order to find some clues to saving all the people who are "hurt" (Aqua, Xion, Ven, etc.), since Xehanort was a factor in their "hurt". Another topic I wonder about is if this is the actual Mark of Mastery exam then did Aqua and Terra go through this Dream training too? Mickey might've done something similar to what Sora and Riku are doing now (that cutscene where he falls into a whirlpool in Birth by Sleep). Though Aqua and Terra were trained under Eraqus while Mickey was trained under Yen Sid so it could be that they have different methods of testing. Finally, does anyone think if Dream Drop Distance could relate at all to Birth by Sleep vol.2? I was wondering if BbSvol2 was referring to 3D but I see no relation whatsoever which could mean there might be another game...that or Birth by Sleep vol.2 is just the name of the secret ending.
