As a general rule of thumb, queer individuals are 100% cooler than your ordinary, run-of-the-mill hetero schmucks.

Sorry, everyone. We can't all be gay. *flips hair*

I did not notice it till I began posting in this thread, but a significant portion of the bands I listen to are post-punk, English in origin. It's a rather guilty pleasure of mine, apparently.

I wholly recommend you read Hunter x Hunter, but be prepared for disappointment once you reach the latest chapter. The fans have bestowed upon it the title of 'Hiatus x Hiatus,' and with good reason. Don't be fooled by the childish premise, HxH is arguably Togashi's darkest work to date. Hisoka doesn't belong near children.

As for the animated adaptions, there's the 1999 series and its 2012 reboot counterpart. I preferred the former, despite it's short run and the fact that it was chock full of filler (enjoyable filler, but filler nonetheless). It'd serve as an adequate introduction into the series; you could easily pick up the manga from where the anime drops off. The 2012 reboot, on the other hand... Generic shounen anime. Mediocre. Due to it holding an early time slot in Japan, the executives are forced to kiddify it. Minimal amount of blood shed, guts, et cetera.

An outstanding stalemate on all sides.

Where are Togashi's fans; lost after his slew of prolonged hiatuses? I made an oath to forfeit my soul if he did not win. Obviously, I'd like to retain it (let's hope the senpai is merciful). Understand this is a serious game we're playing.

If I don't log in come next week, it's because Togashi did not win this poll.[DOUBLEPOST=1375922583][/DOUBLEPOST]
Two of the artists on that list, actually. Eiichiro Oda and Hiroyuki Takei.

I have provided a list below of some of the more popular mangaka, including a brief overview of their career (in the event that someone should not remember who penned their favorite series).
If perchance your favorite shounen mangaka is not on the list of available options, and has not been accounted for; click 'other,' and specify whom the absentee is. Do keep in mind that this poll is inquiring who your favorite shounen (boys' comics) mangaka is, so if you answer "Junji Ito!"
-- I will concede that your taste in the horror genre is top notch, but also that is an incorrect answer [terminated].
    Masashi Kishimoto
    Naruto

    Tite Kubo
    Bleach

    Eiichiro Oda
    One Piece

    Akira Toriyama
    Dr. Slump
    Dragon Ball

    Hiro Mashima
    Rave Master
    Fairy Tale

    Yoshihiro Togashi
    Yu Yu Hakusho
    Hunter x Hunter

    Osamu Tezuka
    Astro Boy
    Kimba the White Lion

    Nobuhiro Watsuki
    Rurouni Kenshin

    Hiromu Arakawa
    Full Metal Alchemist
    Hero Tales

    Rumiko Takahasi
    Inuyasha
    Ranma ½

    Hiroyuki Takei
    Shaman King

    Katsura Hoshino
    D.Gray-man

    Atsushi Okubo
    Soul Eater

    Hirohiko Araki

Apologies if your favorite is not on this list. I am no connoisseur of Japanese comique, to be sure.

You are taking his absence admirably well, so have pride in yourself. There are owners who have gone so far as to dry freeze their pet, in a pitiful attempt at immortalizing their lost beloved.

    First impressions/current impressions?

When was the last time you felt proud of yourself/why was that?

Do you have a favorite fairy tale?

You are being sent into deep space. This is nonnegotiable. NASA has deemed you, and you alone, fit to pilot their newest craft. You will be gone for a minimum of four years; the government will pay your family the necessary retributions. Your country has bestowed an honor of the highest caliber upon you, and the government expects you to be grateful. Nevertheless, they are aware that prolonged periods of lonesomeness may incite space madness.

You are allowed to bring five members with you into deep space. Who are they?

    Meow.

    1. I don't like Hans Andersen's fairy tales. He has a nasty habit of meshing Christian values with children's fiction; it's reminiscent of propaganda, and rather inappropriate to boot. I suspect only hardcore Catholics and people who grew up on Andersen like his tales. The Little Mermaid, The Red Shoes, The Emperor's New Suit. His prose is beautiful, I'll grant him that.

    2. I am alright with consensual incest as well.

    3. Suicidal people should be allowed to commit suicide. It's abuse to prevent them from doing so, simply because you are not comfortable with the idea.

    4. And on that note: Therapy should not be forced upon people (suicidal persons, rape victims, et cetera). Or if it is to be forced upon them, it should only be for a brief period of time; a trial period of sorts. If after say, a month (of daily sessions), they still wish to commit suicide -- let them. No trust is gained from forced therapeutic sessions.

    5. It is selfish to procreate, especially when there are already so many children ripe for picking. If you don't have the money to adopt a child from an orphanage, then you don't have the resources to take care of your own.

I'll update this post if/when I think of any more.
