    Hello all, and welcome to Fantasy Death Row! This game, which is inspired by a website of the early 2000s that now sells low-dose contraceptives for some reason, is much like Fantasy Football, but with death row inmates. The rules are simple. Each player may pick a team of up to three death row inmates who are scheduled for execution at some point in the next three months. Due to the limited number of inmates, teams are allowed to overlap with each other. Once you have picked your team, follow each inmate's case religiously. If any of your inmates receives a clemency of any kind, post about it here to gain points! If the worst happens and your inmate is put to death, you gain no points. That's the gist of it, anyway. Time for the hard part, which is still pretty easy!

    Types of Clemencies
    Each type of clemency works in a slightly different way. Depending on what your inmate gets, the amount of points changes.

    Proven Innocent
    Exactly what it says on the tin. If your inmate is proven innocent, you gain a lot more points than any other type of clemency.

    Pardon
    Your inmate may not have been proven innocent, but for whatever reason he's free to go and thus has averted death. Less points than innocence, but more than the rest.

    Commutation
    If your inmate's sentence has been commuted, he or she is not free to go, but has definitely averted death. Better than nothing.

    Reprieve
    This one is kind of complicated because your inmate has not averted death, only had it delayed. You gain the least amount of points for this, but you also gain them over time, which means you can rack up a pretty nice amount. Points from reprieves are earned per month and stack with any other points that you might earn later on.

    Classes
    When choosing your team, you may assign a class to each inmate. This is completely optional, but may benefit you if you know what you're doing.

    Standard
    Don't want to get involved in all the complicated stuff? Choose the Standard position for all three of your inmates. You may also use the Standard class if you choose to pick other classes.
    Proven Innocent: 15 points
    Pardon: 10 points
    Commutation: 5 points
    Reprieve: 1 point per month
    Excecuted: 0 points

    Team Captain
    You're betting all your marbles on this one. You can get plenty of points here, but choose wisely because you'll lose a lot of points if he bites it. You must have a Team Captain in order to use the Offender and Defender classes.

    Proven Innocent: 25 points
    Pardon: 20 points
    Commutation: 10 points
    Reprieve: 5 points per month
    Excecuted: -15 points

    Offender
    This guy's your next best bet. You won't gain as many points here, but he's also much safer than the Team Captain if you don't want to lose as many points. You may have up to two Offenders on your team.

    Proven Innocent: 20 points
    Pardon: 15 points
    Commutation: 5 points
    Reprieve: 1 point per month
    Excecuted: -10 points

    Defender
    Finally, this guy is your safest bet, but don't expect much out of him. You won't earn many points, but he's good for keeping your score up if you're already ahead. You may have up to two Defenders on your team.
    Proven Innocent: 20 points
    Pardon: 5 points
    Commutation: 1 point
    Reprieve: 1 point per month
    Excecuted: 0 points

    That's it for the rules! Now, here are the inmates! The full description for each inmate can be found here. Read up on everyone to get a good idea of your chances of winning.

    Final Fantasy XIII is really fun, Catherine is super addictive, and Journey was just really awesome. I look forward to playing Heavy Rain and Persona 4 Arena too.

    How I actually went and got it was an adventure too! That's a story for another day, though.

    The topic is the government's role in raising children. I'll start.

    "Republicans understand the importance of bondage between a mother and child."

    I don't even know why I'm posting this here because I don't even know where I am. All I know is that my two best friends in the world have been missing for hours. I just need to vent here.

    We've all known each other since we were kids and I even fell in love with one of them. Every day we'd go out and play in the water just outside of town. Sometimes our parents would take us even farther away to a pretty secluded area, an island that we had to row out to, but only until we were old enough to go on our own.

    Today we were just finishing up this huge raft that we made so we could explore more of the water, but it started raining right when we got home. Around dinnertime it got stormy, so I decided it would be best to check on our raft since it had to be left at the island.

    I saw my friends' boats there, apparently because they were checking on it too, but everything's kinda fuzzy after that. I must have blacked out, though, because I just woke up to a dog licking my face and now I'm in an alley in what looks like the urban part of town, but it doesn't look familiar AT ALL; it's like another world or something.

    Anyway, I'm really scared and have no idea what to do. All I can think about is if the love of my life is safe because I doubt I'm the only one who got kidnapped.

    Thanks for reading this, guys. I feel much better now.

    "Hi, I'm Tom with Home Protection, how are you today?"

    "Actually, this is a bad time, can you give me your home number so I can call you later and discuss what you need to tell me?"

    "No problem."

    Seinfeld, you have failed me.

    In less than one year, it will be 2014.

    That doesn't really seem very important, so let me put that differently.

    In less than one year, it will have been fifteen years since the 90s.

    And yes, you have my permission to shit bricks all over this thread. I'll have the day guy get it.

    Dear god, I haven't been this absorbed in a game in years. I've been playing for the past three hours and just now went, "Holy ****, it's 3:30 in the morning!"

    I think Final Fantasy XII might be the best open world RPG of all time.

    This is one of the things that made the 90s so great. It's too bad that it remains so unappreciated.

    Code:
    float Q_rsqrt( float number )
    {
            long i;
            float x2, y;
            const float threehalfs = 1.5F;

            x2 = number * 0.5F;
            y  = number;
            i  = * ( long * ) &y;                      // evil floating point bit level hacking
            i  = 0x5f3759df - ( i >> 1 );              // what the ****?
            y  = * ( float * ) &i;
            y  = y * ( threehalfs - ( x2 * y * y ) );  // 1st iteration
    //      y  = y * ( threehalfs - ( x2 * y * y ) );  // 2nd iteration, this can be removed

            return y;
