He had Jenova cells injected into him. After learning this, he thought he was Cetra and burned down Nebelheim(sp?). He vanished for about five years and later appeared. He then was defeated by Cloud and his remnants appeared. He later appeared (again!) and was again defeated by Cloud.
There is practically NO WAY to beat Sephiroth from lvls 32-49 (or something like that). Anyway, you would be pwned by all the other bosses that are plot related. Sephy PWNS in Advent Children and KH2. (Oh, and I finally beat him)
Sephiroth grabbed Marluxia and dragged him out of the ground. "Stop fooling around, and you and Ganondorf get along," he snarled, throing Marluxia on top of Ganondorf.

"So I have noticed," Sephiroth muttered. He looked at the fried Marluxia and then spat, "Get yourself out of the ground Number Eleven."
Saix rolled his eyes. How annoying these subordinates were. He slipped off back to his room.
Isa sighed. He watched the two squabble. "You can use it if you guess my password," he said, shaking his head. OOC: LOL.
Saix smirked, hearing Marluxia scream. Walking outside, he folded his arms and looked at Marluxia. "That is how your flowers feel when you dump a whole bucket of water on them."
Sephiroth came back in to where Marluxia and Ganondorf stood. "Are you still playing around?" he asked, folding his arms and flaring his wing angrily.
OOC: Oh. Okay... so, yeah. BIC: Saix was in his room, as usual. Not wanting to be with his subordinates, and somewhat tired of staring at Kingdom Hearts, he was sharpening his claymore. His annoying dog was running around the room, again.
Sephiroth rolled his eyes. "Partly because our little Ganondorf friend was maniacally laughing his head off," he said, flicking his bangs. "I'm surprised he is not as insane as me."
Isa laughed. "We are so busted if he finds out. Anyway, lets go outside. I have a laptop and we can type the message on there."
While Ganondorf was maniacally laughing his head off, Sephiroth slipped away. Heh, leave the three buffoons by themselves. He didn't need them. Turning a corner, he found he did need them, for he was lost.
Dragging Sephiroth behind him, Isa leaned against the wall of the bathroom. "If anybody ask, say that Sephiroth had to go to the bathroom and we were waiting for him," Isa said, shoving Sephiroth into one of the stalls.
Sephiroth glanced at the other two (minus Demyx) and made a small, "Hmph." Rising in the air, he whispered the words "Descend Heartless Angel" and was surronded by a pink light. His target? Cerberus.
Sephiroth glared at the "horse-bird thingy" and ignored it. "Leave it," he said, watching as it circled around his head. Turning to Ganondorf(sp?) he said, "Fine." Then answering Marluxia's question, he replied, "You were high and I had to stop you from doing anything dangerous."
