Twilight gasped suddenly, lurching up from sleep. Someone had been in the cave. Someone besides them. Her heart pounded as she scanned the cave for signs that they were still here. Nothing. "Gharanth!" She grabbed his arm, trying to wake him. "Gharanth. We must leave!"
Twilight nodded, eyes drooping tiredly. She curled up in his arms and closed her eyes.
Twilight held him as tight as she could. "I was afraid you'd leave me if I didn't remember. I was afraid you'd..." She let a few tears fall, watching them land lightly on his shoulder. "I dunno where i'd be right now without you."
"Gharanth. I want to remember more than anything, but if I don't, will you please stay with me? Will you help me remember?" She wiped her eyes on the back of her hand, "I want to love you forever Gharanth. Even if I don't remember. I want to be with you forever." She burried her face in the side of his neck, eyes damp.
"Not lost to darkness, my friend, but to fear. I was alone. I was scarred and torn to hopelessness by the thoughts of my past. I couldn't remember most of my life and I didn't know if I would remember the next day or if I would remember my life at all." She leaned into him. "And then i saw you, and i felt so much pain comming from you. I felt like i'd met someone I could help and live for. And although I still wonder if I will remember this day, or if it will vanish like the rest of my memories, I do not feel alone."
"Oh Gharanth." Twilight brushed the tears from his face, pushing his memories out of her head so she could focuse. "You are not going to Hell. Even if i have to drag you by myself up from the flames. I will stay with you forever." She leaned in so her lips just barely touched his, brushing his lips as she spoke. "And you are more worthy to live than anyone i've ever known. I was lost before i met you. Are you aware of that?"
"A...city..." She whispered, closing her eyes tightly. "But...it's in ruins...burning..." She squeezed his hand tighter, the feeling comforting her.
Twilight's heart picked up speed at Gharanth's kiss and she shuttered happily. Laying her head against him. She saw a burning city as she took his hand, his nightmarish memories cutting through him and into her mind. She winced slightly but kept her hand in his anyways.
She looked away from the scars and into his eyes. "Is there nothing you fear, Gharanth?" She inched closer to him, feeling safe despite the rain that pelted the edge of the cave. Her head was spinning as she grew warmer. "Have you always been so brave?"
Huh???????
Twilight frowned in worry as she ran her numb fingers over one of the scars on his shoulder. What horrid person would do such a thing to him. She stared at the ground, feeling anger towards whoever had caused him such scars. The thought of Gharanth in pain was too much for her.
Twilight's arms circled around his neck and she relaxed in his arms. "I know you will, Gharanth." She lay her head against him chest, waiting patiently.
The sky rumbled louder above them and Twilight jumped a bit, clinging onto Gharanth as the sence of fear caught up with her. The clouds were already spitting a drizzle of rain on them, it wouldn't be so calm in a few minutes.
PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I...was so...lonely! *cries* *Hugs everyone on*
Twilight giggled at Gharanth's look. "Oh quit worrying, my love. If we don't make it to shelter...well...what did a little water do to anyone?" The sky rumbled as if irritated at her lack of worry, and her smile shrank a little.
*cries* no body is here! ...so alone...
"Why thank you, fine knight." She laughed as the two of them started through the woods. The clouds weren't looking cooperative today, twirling angrily and dark in the sky. It wasn't gonna be an easy first day.
Jasper cursed and rolled his eyes. He wasn't up for sitting in the background but if what Encalla said was true, he wouldn't fight. "Good luck then. I'll see ya later."
Twilight rolled her eyes. "I can carry my bag, thank you." She smiled as she patted the small brown sack. "I don't have much to carry anyways." She shrugged, looking up at him. She looked like a mear child next to his massive strength and muscle. She didn't mind though. "Perhaps we should get going, unless there is something you need to do before we set out. I dunno how long our journey will take."
Jasper nodded, "Hold up. If you're off to talk to the town leader, I want to be there. We're a team now wether we like it or not and there's no way i'm just sitting out. I'm comming with you."
