"Are you okay?" He looked into her eyes, stuggling to sit up but failing miserably.
Jake chuckled flatly but it turned into a pained caugh as his chest tightend. "I already told you." Jake mumbled. "I don't sleep. I rest."
Jake heard footsteps and grunted, turning his head sharply. The world spun around at the sudden motion but righted itself as he saw Alyce running towards him. He sighed and lay back, releif washing over him. "It's Alyce...just Alyce..." He couldn't find words to describe the feelings he felt at that moment.
Jake blinked. His chest was killing him where deep black bruises had formed and the night sky seemed too quiet for his likings. He groaned, turning over on his side and spitting blood out on the ground. "Hello?" He called raspily. "Is anybody here?"
Jacob stood up, blocking Alyce from the unseen beast that threatend to kill. Something hard hit the side of his head and Jake was unconcious before he hit the ground. ooc: I gotta go. Pretend Jake is Unconcious. Hey, save some action for later you guys.
"For now." Jake fell to his knees next to her. "Are you alright?" He meant all of them but directed the question at her. He saw the shadow behind Geryl. "LOOK OUT!"
Jacob gasped as he felt one of his ribs snap. He managed to turn himself over and push himself up from the ground. He saw Alyce hit the wall and anger struck at his heart. "Alyce!" He spun hard, trying to see who was causeing this. "Where are you? Get the heck out of here! Leave them alone!" 'Never be alone...' the voice whispered in his ear. Then it was gone. The courtyard was unbearably quiet. "I don't think we've seen the last of him..." Jake whispered.
"We have to get help." Jacob tried to shoove whatever was crushing him off but it only seemed to get heavier. "We have to...to..." He gasped. "GET THIS THING OFF OF ME!" But there was nothing there.
"Fine." Jake tried to sit up but it felt like something was bareing down on his chest. "He froze, eyes wide. "What the-" Something hissed in his ear.
"We have to get out of here." Jacob turned to the others. "We have to leave the school. Maybe if we leave we can-" Something hard hit him in the stomach and he grunted, getting thrown back onto the sidewalk.
Jake felt her tense and stepped closer to her. The sky was darkening above the school and he drew her close. "This is messed up." He whispered to no one inparticular."
"I'll help if I can." Jake kept holding onto Alyce's hand, trying to comfort her. "Geryl. Whoever this guy is, no one should be alone facing him."
Jake shook his head, clenching his teeth. "Nothing's gonna happen to you...to anyone. We'll figure this out. There has to be a way...an explanation to-" 'You. Will. DIE!' Jake jumped at the voice, spinning to look around the yard.
"Alyce?" Jake took her hand, squeezing it tight. "Are you alright? You don't look so good."
Jake shook his head, finally aware of Jasmine's hand against his face. "Woah...sorry...it was like I was asleep or something." He still couldn't see her though. He turned and saw fear in Alyce's eyes. "What the heck is going on???"
Jake rubbed the back of his neck, confused. "Er...I figured you could tell me that." He called into the yard.
Jake took a step closer to Alyce as if he meant to protect her from the strangeness of the morning. "Jasmine?" He called into the empty courtyard. "You there?"
Jake winced a little at the look she gave him. She was right. He was being a jerk for no apparent reason. He apologized with his eyes and steadied his breaths, returning to his normal self and facing Geryl again. Jake jumped. "Huh?"
Jacob ground his teeth. "What did this whisper say?" Jake knew his voice was a little bitter but he couldn't hold back his tone.
Jake shrugged. "I didn't hear anything. Did you, Alyce?"
