Bella waved goodbye to him, turning back to Anna. "Does he work every day?"
Jake cast a glance at Alyce before taking Jasmine's hand and pulling her back up. "We'll look till we find it." He promised her. "You can check the garage. I'll check the courtyard. Alyce, will you check the bathroom?"
Jake frowned. He knew what she was feeling perfectly well. "Where did you last see it?"
Bella picked up a stone, twidling it in her fingers. "Why does the king want us gone so badly?"
Bella laughed lightly. "He socked a knight in the face." She laughed.
Bella shrugged. "He saved my life and that was enough. I'd probably hanging by my wrists in the king's dungeon if it weren't for him."
Jake looked at Alyce for help. He wasn't good with tears. "Shhh. Jasmine...what's wrong?" He tried to look into her eyes.
"Spy?" Bella looked at Matthew, things starting to make sence.
Jake spun as he saw Jasmine. "What..." He reached out and grabbed her arm as she passed. "What's wrong?"
'Could've fooled me.' Bella thought as she watched them. "Are you an orphan too? Or a knight?"
Bella stood up. "Hi! I was just having a conversation with your not boyfriend." Bella winked at Mathew. "I'm Bella." She held her hand out.
Jake winked at her. "Well it was a really good random thought." He laughed again as they neared her room.
Bella giggled and rolled her eyes. "Yeah...sure she's not your girlfriend. If she isn't, why are you blushing?"
Bella elbowed him in the ribs. "Oooo. Anna. You're girlfriend?"
Bella nodded. "Well that makes sence." She smiled. "And that girl. The one in the photo you showed me. Who is she?"
Jake shook his head. "A flashlight..." He chuckled lightly. "Why didn't I think of that?" He rubbed the last of the dry blood off his face as they stepped down the hallway.
Bella shrugged. "So i got one more pycho knight to deal with. Big woop. But if you're an orphan, how can you be a knight?"
"So that means...the shadow...is it gone?" Jake walked with her towards her dorm.
Bella stopped. That wasn't what she'd expected. "Then would you like to tell me why the king isn't hunting you?"
