Connor's friends are annoying as hell, but I cried too. ;~;

Other than checking that nothing's turned off in the volume control pannel, I can't really think of much else that could be causing it, since there isn't really many technical components to a netbook. The worst case scenario is that it's a virus, but I would think more than just volume would be affected if it were a virus. You could maybe look for a similar problem on a site for the company who made the netbook. :/

I'm not super tech savvy, myself, but hopefully someone will be able to help you. Sorry. D:

I know this sounds stupid, but I've done this myself way too many times. Check that the volume on the actual video is turned up. It's most likely a problem with the videos rather than your netbook's volume if you can hear some sounds and not others.

8 gigs is the size of just my iTunes library. :/

Consider an external hardrive?

I don't have a credit card connected to my iTunes account, so all I got to work with is the $25, plus the 2 cents I had left before Christmas. :P

I haven't read Dragon Rider, but I've read the Inkheart series, and I read the Thief Lord a long time ago. So long ago that I really couldn't tell you what happens because I don't remember. xD
