Bella sighed. "You have to trust yourself, matthew. You aren't a bad person. You're the best person I've ever met...Can't you see that? You mean the world to me...and I bet Anna would say the same."
"That's not right." Twilight frowned. "Family should take care of you...watch out for you..."
"You have already given so much? What is left?"
Matt came up to the deck, standing next to Erin as the captain gave orders. "The storm is comming fast, boys. I want a few of you to go down with the passengers and help out with whatever needs they may have, they shouldn't feel any less relaxed than they have been on this ship. The rest of you will wait for your orders. There is no telling with these storms."
Twilight nodded. "Do you miss them?"
Jayz could feel the fear and confusion dying down as the creature slept and smiled to himself. It felt good to help people. If he could only help himself someday...
The storm was getting worse and worse and the captain knew it. He clutched the railing as the ship turned in the waves, calling over the intercom. "Everyone please file into the dining hall imediatly. There is no need to worry. Just a storm but we will have to wait it out. I want the crew on deck ASAP."
"Beautiful names...where are they right now? Do you know?"
Bella frowned. "No...it's true. You're a great person, Matt...and a better friend than you give yourself credit."
Matt could hear the wind in the distance before it reached the ship. The sky was pitch black. Not a good sign, and the wind was headed their way. "Oh no..." He turned to Raina. "If you'r excuse me miss. You may want to get to your cabin. A storm is headed this way. A bad one." He turned and ran to find the captain. A second later, lightning began to strike the sky, the waves tossing the ship ever so slightly.
Jayz stayed with the creature, not wanting to leave and have the creature wake up alone. He sat on a rock and curled his legs up to his chest to wait.
"I know so. I mean, look at you. You rescue people every day. You're a great guy. Really brave...and yet...you deserve so much more than what you are given. But things will change."
Jayz wondered what was bothering this amazing gental beast. It hurt to see something in so much pain...literally. He wondered if he could calm it down somehow, help it get over whatever it was worried about.
"Okay...um...do you have any brothers or sisters?"
Matt sighed, knowing she wasn't gonna take no for an answer. "I'll think about it okay?" He felt a chill blow from the west and looked towards the sky. The clouds were getting closer.
"Sometimes bad things happen to good people. It's life. Life isn't fair to most people."
"It's gonna be fine." Jayz touched the creature's head gentally, wincing a little when her pain and fears struck at his fingertips. "You're gonna be okay now. Nothing is gonna happen to you."
Matt's jaw dropped. "It's...amazing, miss...but...I don't think i'd feel right on land with all that earth under me. And without the crew..."
Jayz saw so much confusion in the creature's eyes. "Shhh...calm down."
