Twilight smiled. "And so do I. I wouldn't trade my family for anything." She smiled up at him.
Bella listened as Matt spoke. She felt so bad for him. So bad for Anna.
Matt sighed. Nodding at Clarisse in thanks. He climbed in the boat next to Erin and the man. Waving to the captain to tell him that was everyone. They lowered the boat into the raging ocean.
Bella heard Matt talking in the room and decided to wait. Give him some time with her.
Twilight shook her head, squeezing his hand. "I'm your family now."
Matt pushed open the door onto the deck, watching as the last lifeboat was lowered over the edge. "Wait! Erin, get on the lifeboat, i'll lower Raina's dad down to you." He turned hard on the man. "We aren't leaving you!!"
"We carry him." Matt put his arm around the man's waist. After lugging bags every day of him life, the man was nothing. He struggled down the hall with Erin and Raina's dad. The captain was about finished loading most of the people into the life boats. He would wait a few more moments before he left. Maybe Erin amd Matt were on their way.
Twilight smiled. "What about your parents? Were they...like your siblings?"
Bella put together a quick drink she had learned on the road. It was hot and fruity tasting. It always made her feel better. Maybe it would help Matt.
"Let's go!" Matt pulled open the door and was stunned when three feet of water rushed in. Matt grabbed Raina's dad by the arm, helping him along, unsure if the dresser had hurt his legs.
Twilight nodded. "have you ever seen anyone change? I mean...really change?"
Matt spotted Raina's dad on the floor with his legs trapped under a dresser that had fallen. He rushed over and grunted as he lifted the dresser off of him. "Erin...pull him out from under it..."
Matt looked over at Erin, knowing he probably knew the ship was going down too. He kicked a door open, surprised when a few inches of water bagan to flood the hallway. "Sir! Are you there?" The captain looked around and immediatly knew Erin and Matt weren't there among the rest of the crew. He cursed but had to deal with the passengers safety first. "I want everyone in the lifeboats. No need to panic for there is plenty of space and time."
"Maybe somday you will...maybe time has changed them. Anyone can change when given the chance. I pity those who are given no chance."
Bella kissed his forehead gentally. "I'll go make you something to drink." She said standing and leaving the room.
Matt took off down a hallway with Erin, pushing doors open and checking rooms. Matt was horrified. The ship was sinking. He could feel the difference in weight. It was going down.
Twilight didn't like the thought of Gharath fighting his family, even if they were aweful people. She had always thought families were alike, always loving and kind to each other. This was something completely different.
"There are plenty of people helping the passengers but there might still be people trapped in their rooms and in corridors. Let's see who we can find."
Bella squeezed his hand again. "See? You're smileing. It's not so hard now, is it?"
The ship hit against something hard and a bunch of the crew fell, getting up quickly as rain poured down buckets. Matt chewed his lip nervously He could feel the ship taking on water right under his feet.
