Alright, there's been some disappointing news from SE regarding mobile networking games. Here's the report segment on mobile gaming: In March 2008, Square Enix President Yoichi Wada held a press conference discussing the development of Dragon Quest IX starting this year. In his presentation, President Wada brings up the subject of mobile networking games, claiming that production has been suspended on major titles. About the suspension, he explains that, "Development of the titles has experienced over 3 billion in loss of appraisal. A review of the development system was performed and determined that the timing is unsuitable for the mobile department to be working on the networking games being developed for major titles, therefore production has stopped." The names of the games effected by the production halt were not specified and are not clear at this time. But since President Wada mentions "major titles", its assumed he was talking about the major mobile games currently being developed, Final Fantasy XIII Agito and Kingdom Hearts coded. Got this from KHInsider. Looks bad for KH; Coded was supposed to fill in a lot of plot holes plus foreshadow a bit of KH3.
Alright, this is what I think the controls will be, using all the information we have so far. Just a quick recap of the main battle system: Here's a typical battle in BBS: Now then, the way it works is you attack with circle (this is only in the Japanese version; you attack with X in the english version). You see the three commands above attack? That's what I'll call the "Command Deck". Pressing triangle activates the selected attack, then the next move will take its place. The attack you have just used charges (as seen with the orange bit). A bit like CoM, eh? I believe you can mix and match attacks by both attacking and using moves from the Command Deck to form combos. Maybe you can press the up and down directional buttons to switch between moves. Now what I'm thinking is that three moves is too little, so I think that as you level up, you gain more "Command Bars". Three Bars make up one Command Deck. To scroll through Decks, you press select. I also believe that you have a "Medical Deck" where you can assign Cure, potions, ethers, etc. to any of the three Bars in that Deck. You will only have ONE Medical Deck, and it will ALWAYS be the last Deck. So at the beginning of the game (when you still have only one Command Deck) and you need to heal, you can simply press select to go to the Medical Deck and use Cure or a potion. But as you gain more Bars and create more Decks, it's going to become more difficult to get to the Medical Deck because you'll need to scroll through like six Decks to get to it, and that'll be pretty frustrating. So this is what I think, to jump straight to the last Deck (aka. Medical Deck), you simply press the right directional button, and to jump to the first Deck, press the left directional button. Sound good? Alright, let's get to what I think the controls are: Analog Nub - Move character L Button - Rotate camera left R Button - Rotate camera right L or R twice - Reset camera L+R - Lock on Up D-Button - Go up a Bar on the Command Deck Down D-Button - Go down a Bar on the Command Deck Right D-Button - Jump to last Deck (aka. Medical Deck) Left D-Button - Jump to first Deck X Button - Attack Circle Button - Jump (press twice to air dodge) Square Button - Guard (press while moving to do dodge move) Triangle Button - Use selected command/Reaction Command Start - Pause game Select - Scroll through Command Decks
I wasn't sure where to put this since it's about all three of the games. In an unreleased KH trailer many months back, many interesting phrases popped up. Nomura has stated that the three three upcoming games are all connected to KH3. Could these mean something?: Unreleased trailer: "Their wounds cannot be healed if you get lost in the darkness." "Join your hands together like before." "I am counting the days since my birth." "Have the number of days been recorded?" "I don't want to forget what has happened since my birth." "With whose heart does a new story lie?" "Dis-Soul." Coded: "We must return to free them from their torment./We must return to heal their wounds." 358/2 Days: "I will disappear from this world in 151 days." Possible Meanings: "Their wounds cannot be healed if you get lost in the darkness." - Message in Jiminy's Journal. "Join your hands together like before." - Continuation of SRK's story? "I am counting the days since my birth." - Roxas' life? "Have the number of days been recorded?" - Regarding the days Roxas has left on "this world"? "I don't want to forget what has happened since my birth." - Ven/MX/Xehanort/Roxas? "With whose heart does a new story lie?" - VAT/SRK? "Dis-Soul." - New enemy in BBS and possibly KH3? So since the three games connect to KH3, this is what we can say are key points: -The message in Jiminy's Journal is important. Possibly it's telling to bring back VAT. -SRK will be the protagonists (confirmed by Nomura anyway). -How long Roxas has been alive is important. -Ven/MX/Roxas' birth is important, or more likely, Xehanort (who will most likely be back in KH3 since his Heartless was destroyed just before Xemnas) will remember his past and wouldn't want to forget what happened since either his birth, or his "rebirth" as Ansem's apprentice. -Who will be the cause of the next story? Who's heart is responsible for this new story? -The new enemies in BBS might be important to KH3, if that's what "Dis-Soul" is referring to. What are your thoughts on this?
Heart+Body+Soul: Whole person Heart (With darkness): Heartless Heart (Without darkness): None Body+Heart: Death Body+Soul: Nobody Soul: Death Soul+Heart: New Enemy? We know that a heart is a part vital to the existence of any living being, and it stabilizes the light and darkness of a person. When a person (not a PoH) gives in to the darkness of their heart, they will become a Heartless. The body is the vessel that holds everything. Nothing more. When the soul leaves it, even if it still has a heart, the person is dead. However, when the person loses the heart, if they have a strong will, the remaining parts become a Nobody (the body to give the Nobody shape, and the soul to give it life). Now the soul simply gives something life. Heartless act only on instinct, being born from darkness; they are masterless and free, and only wish to find and consume hearts to create more Heartless. Nobodies, however, can think and plan, thanks to their souls. If this is all true, and the new creature is the remaining heart and soul of a person, you could think of it as a Heartless that can think and has both light and darkness within it. What I think, is that this creature is in-between in all aspects: Both light and dark, you could say neither Heartless nor Nobody, neither existent nor non-existent (possibly). In real life, dusk is twilight after sunset. In KH2, Dusks are beings of nothingness, that posseses a soul and a body, along with a strong will. They spawn from the Twilight realm, or in-between the light and dark realms. So, the new enemies. I believe the new enemies are twilight enemies, meaning they could actually use light and darkness at the same time and not separately, or they are Dawn enemies. I'll explain. In real life Dawn is the twilight before sunrise. It is recognized by the presence of WEAK SUNLIGHT while the sun itself is still below the horizon. So let's tie this to KH shall we. Twilight has been often called the blue hour by photographers based on a french word because of the romanctic ambient light, also known as AVAILABLE LIGHT or EXISTING LIGHT. Nobodies aren't supposed to exist, yet they do, the weakest of them all are called Dusks, hmm connection? Let's continue. In real life there is something called a BLue Flash. It's a rare phenonama that occurs shortly aftersunset or before sunrise. Hmm, blue... the BBS enemies are blue. Blue Flashes are refractions of light, and are higher frequencies of light that CURVES in the atmosphere. So Shadows, Dusks, and Dawns... Now then, as stated above, I think this creature is the remaining heart and soul. With a soul, it can think and plan. So it's quite different from a Heartless, which only act on instinct. Nomura said that this creature was wild. Since this creature lacks a body, all of its emotions and memories don't have something to hold it in. When this creature is made, it might keep a certain powerful emotion that had a big impact on their lives and memories to go with that emotion. It can think, but the emotion is so powerful, it can only concentrate on it, making it crazy a.k.a. wild. And symbolically (as KH is full of symbols), since it lacks a body, it cannot hold in that emotion, and they bubble and froth nonstop. A Nobody, with a body and soul but no heart, creates a creature without emotion. This new enemy, with a soul and a heart but no body, creates a creature full of emotion. This is backed up by the "Lingering Spirit". It's not canon, I know. I think Nomura's reason for putting him in is to give us some hints on BBS. The most noticable hints are the introductions of Aqua and Ven and Terra's anger for Master Xehanort. A hint I discovered is about the new enemies and it might be that Terra in this state is him as the new creature. That is not really Terra we're fighting - That's his lingering spirit - His soul and his horrible memories fuelled by emotion. The spirit could only talk about his two lost friends and his hatred for Master Xehanort, and those emotions made him a WILD and uncontrollable beast that you must fight. He can also be called the "Lingering Sentiment", and sentiment means emotion so... Maybe a different strong emotion makes a different form of this creature. I mean like a person who has experienced great sadness could make the regular thin "Dawns", happiness makes those big blue ones, and then there's anger, shock and awe, boredom, calmness, fear, paranoia, disgust, shyness, etc. And if you have a really strong heart with multiple emotions, you regain your human form (Terra). Sounds like fun to fight them. :D
So, I just watched this movie and it rocks. Since it's made by Disney, you think it's possible for it to be in BBS? I mean, we had PotC and Tron in KH2. To not make the game boring, it's possible you only play certain worlds with a certain character. And if BtT was in the game, you would probably play as Ven, you know, for age reasons? And with Leslie's death, the game would definetely keep it's seriousness right? It has the whole concept of friendship. This is speculation, but if the new enemy was to be a soul, Leslie would probably come back as one of those creatures, since they probably won't put religion in the game. Instead of "Leslie not going to hell", it would be "Leslie is closer to the light so her spirit won't perish". And VAT seem to be good runners, and so do Jess and Leslie, so there might be some kind of minigame with that. Finally, Ven might help with naming Terabithia by remembering Terra, because when he sees Jess and Leslie together, Ven will be reminded by his own friendship. Doesn't that sound great?
I'm sure a lot of you may have noticed this already, but I decided to put it up anyway. It seems that certain parts in Fate of the Unknown (KH2:FM secret ending music) seem to play only when the video is focusing on a certain character. The camera doesn't necessarily focus directly on the character when the part is playing, but the character always seems to be around when it plays. So these may be "samples" of their actual theme songs in BBS. I'm pretty sure about Terra's theme. Just look at this video I made. You'll understand what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n53gf1kweek
I just couldn't resist putting this up. This is the best theory I've ever heard: http://forums.khinsider.com/future-kingdom-hearts/88253-egyptian-mythology-all-connects.html
Firstly, look at this picture:http://www.khinsider.com/images/JumpFesta08/bbs_scan.jpg Look at the Ven gameplay screenshots and look closely at his Keyblade. In both pictures his Keyblade looks almost completely black, but in both the KH2 secret ending and the KH2:FM secret ending, the colors of his Keyblade seem more like the colors Sora's Kingdom Key. Why do you think this is? Second, look at this screenshot: That shadow beside Ven has been baffling people for a long time. Some think it's Riku, but that's impossible considering the time period. I think it's actually Aqua. Why? Look at this picture: Aqua here has about three spikes in her hair - So does the shadow. The mystery person doesn't seem to be wearing anything on his/her shoulders, and Aqua in the poster doesn't either. Notice the slightly large area on the shadow's left arm? That's definitely a part of Aqua's armor since both Terra and Ven have a part of their armor on their left arms as well. Finally (I'll say this quick), you can see the shadow's boob indicating that it's a female and you can see Aqua's on the poster as well (I'm not being perverted, I'm just putting up another fact that supports this theory). So with that, I conclude that the person standing next to Ven on Destiny Islands is in fact, Aqua (100% in my mind). What do you think?
And it's not just Organization XIII that has many connections to Harry Potter, but it would take too long to list the others here. Anyway, have you noticed all the similarities between the characters? Here are all the connections I could find (SPOILERS FOR BOTH KH2 AND HP AHEAD): Xemnas - Voldemort: Both of them were once under the rule of a wise old man (Dumbledore/Ansem), and eventually turned evil and gave themselves a new name (an anagram of their original names) then gathered people. Both Sora and Harry have had their ladyfriends put under a deep sleep by a part of Xemnas/Voldemort (Xehanort's Heartless for Xemnas and Tom Riddle's memory for Voldemort). Vexen - Lucius Malfoy: Both have long blonde hair and end up as failures. Lexaeus - Fenrir Grayback: Simply because of his brute strength. Saïx - Partly Snape because the two rarely showed emotion and they were their leader's right-hand man, and Fenrir Grayback (moon powers). Axel - Snape: Both had a "friend" in their alliance (Roxas for Axel and Draco for Snape). Both were manipulative and were double agents for a long time. In the end, they sacrificed themselves for others and both saw a part of someone they really liked before they finally died (Sora - Roxas for Axel and Harry's eyes - Lily for Snape). Larxene - Bellatrix: One of the more obvious ones. Both are sadists and make fun of the hero. Both are also very fast fighters. And (recently discovered) they were both previously thought to be the only female members in their alliance. Roxas - Malfoy: Closest pair I could find. 'Nuf said. There are a ton of other connections to these two stories but again, it's too long to put up. What do you think of this?
Nothing too special. Just a few things I want to point out: Remember this poster? Have you noticed that the villains are looking towards the middle of the picture whereas the heroes (Terra, Aqua, Ven, and Roxas) are looking away? I guess that was just to make it look fancy. But what made me wonder is the fact that both Master Xehanort and Xemnas seem to be looking at Sora. Is this a sign meaning Sora might meet Master X. in the future? Call me crazy but really, I think Nomura may have given us a clue here... Oh, and one other thing: I think Master X. has a fused spine. Seriously, look at every image with him in it - he's always leaning forward XD.
Wouldn't this make an awesome battle scene XD? So who do think would win?
So, last night I lay awake thinking about the new KH games, then I had a sudden brainwave. This might also be 358/2 Days' connection to KH3: Before, I never believed the idea that the 14th member is Aqua. But remember in the trailer, when Xemnas introduces her, everyone has a different expression, and Roxas' was either surprised or confused. So since Ven is connected to Roxas somehow, perhaps Roxas has a bit of Ven's memories and thought that the 14th member looked somewhat familiar. Now when Xemnas was introducing her in the screenshot, he kind of had a sinister, satisfied kind of smile - something he doesn't normally have. Plus, he said it was a day they "must commemorate". I don't think he says that EVERY TIME they get a new member, so the 14th member must be someone special. As for the other members' reactions, it's quite obvious they knew something about Aqua. Vexen and Larxene laughed probably because they thought it was funny seeing Aqua in an Organization cloak, something they've never seen before, and Lexaeus and Marluxia look mad because they know that having another Keyblade wielder in the Organization means trouble. Axel put his hand on his mouth because Roxas probably told him about his memories of a girl called Aqua. I also think I found an explanation for that new cutscene regarding Xigbar and Zexion. Xemnas must've found Aqua, then started erasing her memories in the "Room Of Sleep" and kept her armor there as well. Aqua's old memories were gone by the time Roxas came into the Organization, so Xemnas let her through the "Room Of Awakening" and made her member number 14; it was such a success that Xemnas said it was a day to commemorate (another reason for Vexen's laugh). Finally, people say that the 14th member can't be Aqua because her skin tone is darker. Well that's just the hood shadowing her. Remember, in the scene where Roxas is initiated into the Organization, it showed Xemnas face in his hood, and he was quite dark as well, wasn't he? And all this in one night. XP
Even though we haven't seen Master X's full power, we've seen what he's like in the secret ending. So who would win? Xehanort's Heartless, Xemnas, or Master Xehanort?
Who do you think should voice the characters for the english version? I think: Terra: Wil Wheaton (Aqualad from Teen Titans) Aqua: Mae Whitman (Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender - And it makes sense 'cause Katara's a Waterbender.) Ven: Jesse McCartney (Already confirmed to have the same voice as Roxas) Master X: Either Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars) or Harry Shearer (Charles Montgomery Burns from The Simpsons) Dark Soldier: Either Scott Menville (Red X in Teen Titans) or Dee Bradley Baker (Carnage from Spider-Man) (100th post!)
Nomura stated in a recent interview that there was a new enemy that is "neither a Heartless, nor a Nobody". I think I know what kind of enemy this is. Remember that in the KH universe, a person is made up of three things: A body, a heart, and a soul. We already know that the heart becomes a Heartless, and the body becomes a Nobody. So the new enemy has got to be what the soul becomes. Remember the Spider-Man-looking guy? In the KHII:FM secret ending "it" seemed to come out of Master Xehanort. That's gotta be his "soul"! What do you think?
Terribly sorry if this is in the wrong place. So this is for those people who either still can't beat Terra or want a better way to do it. Attacks (From easiest to hardest to dodge): Rising Sun - Similar to Sora's version; hurls at you three times. Hoverbike Charge - Turns Keyblade into a Hoverbike. Similar to Rising Sun only with more distance and less control. Movement of this attack changes as you deplete his HP (He may use the magic spells Blizzard and Magnet and may spin the motorcycle around, taking out more of your HP, but these happen rarely). Key Cannon - Turns Keyblade into a cannon and shoots an enormous energy ball at you. 3-Hit Combo - 60% chance of happening when he runs at you. Drone swarm - This attack's usual form is him taking out two annoying white drones who chase you and shoot you while Terra does other attacks. Sometimes (usually when Terra's HP is depleted to a certain amount), he dissapears for a while and leaves a swarm of drones around you until he returns. Disable Magic - Hurls close to you then stabs Keyblade into ground creating a blue circle with fancy patterns surrounded by pillars around you and him. Terra's HP bar gets replaced by a much smaller one and you can't do magic until you deplete the bar completely. Disable Melee - Similar to Disable Magic except the circle and pillars being orange and that you can only use magic until you deplete the bar. Whip - Turns Keyblade into a whip and unleashes huge flurry of whip-like strikes. Usually does this either after a long combo of attacks, or if you hit him too many times. Key Bow - Turns Keyblade into a bow and shoots three arrows at you. The effect when it hits you is very similar to Xemnas' attack in KH:FM, only more damaging. Berserk - The arena goes dark, sand and rocks start floating and Terra lifts his Keyblade and a circle of pretty designs on the ground (looking similar to the disabling circles) forms around him. Terra stabs the ground and the circle disappears. Then he glides at you and attacks you with his Keyblade five times, then he blasts electricity at you. He then splits his Keyblade into two parts, disappears, then quickly appears next to you, then creates "mirrors" that circle him in two directions; he is able to chase you with a speed as fast as a Lvl 2 Glide. After a while, he stops, puts his Keyblade back together, slashes twice in the air, disappears again, then quickly appears next to you and unleashes a flurry of attacks, ending the main attack with a spinning charge that takes out all your health (if you don't have Once More) in Critical Mode, and half your health in any other mode. Strategy: At the very beginning of the battle, run backwards to dodge the beginning attack, and if you see that he'll do Rising Sun, Disable Magic, or Disable Melee, dodge roll back to avoid it. His first Rising Sun or Hoverbike Charge will be simple - using Rising Sun only once (which means he charges only three times), and charges at you three or four times with Hoverbike Charge, then stand back on the ground. To avoid both of these attacks, just Dodge Roll. Then attack with with two full combos with two finishers. Your combos having more than five attacks or three finishers might cause Terra to retaliate with his whip after the second combo. So at best, try to limit yourself to three attacks and use two finishers. After that, his Rising Suns may be used more than once and he may use Hoverbike charge right after it, then go back to Rising Sun. His Whip attack may be used after the end of this chain of Rising Suns and Hoverbike Charges. You have to be able to react fast to avoid getting whipped. If he uses Rising Sun more than once, he's sure to use the whip. To be safe, after Terra uses Rising Sun twice, guard immediately. When Terra uses Key Cannon, get close to him, but not too close or you'll be knocked away too far to avoid the attack the easy way. Get close enough and use either Guard or Reflect to knock the energy ball back at him (Guard is the best way). If you're not close enough, he can knock the energy ball back at you if you try to knock it back at him, so the best way to avoid it then is to Dodge Roll when it hits you. Dodge Roll makes you invincible during attacks so that will make the energy ball explode. When Terra runs at you, there's a 60% chance that he'll use his 3-Hit Combo, so don't run away waiting for him to do another attack because he runs way faster than you even if you're in a Form. Just let him get close enough to you, then (this requires exact timing,) use Guard to avoid his first two attacks, then, if done correctly, he'll turn away from you when he does his final attack, which is a large blast of, well, some cogwheel thing I don't really know how to describe. Don't attack him while he's doing that last attack or you'll be hit. Wait for him to finish, and then strike. If you want, use Reflect while he's doing this and he'll be hit by the counterattack. It's hard to see when Terra is about to use Disable Magic or Disable Attack. There's a 40% chance that he'll use it when he runs at you. He'll charge at you, then use it. The best way to avoid it is to Dodge Roll, or you can also use Reflect. When Terra turns his Keyblade into a bow, wait for a second (litterally), then use Reflect four times to avoid his three shots. He will be shooting around you. There is a way to avoid this quicker and without losing MP, but it's very risky. Dodge Roll towards him while he's getting his bow and stand right in front of him and all three shots will miss you. When you deplete his fifth bar of HP, Terra will use his whip without warning, so either Dodge Roll or Guard twice with exact timing, and if you're lucky, you'll miss the attack. When he has six bars left, he'll do the same, then disappear and use the Drone Swarm. With correct timing, Guard or Reflect the shots (you'll know when they're about to shoot when you see them charge up; Reflect is better to use because you won't need as much correct timing). If you're out of MP and don't want to risk Guard, just Glide away until Terra appears again. When Terra has six bars left, he'll do as I said above, then when he appears, he'll use his Berserk attack. Either guard the first part or Glide away. Don't get too far before he attacks or else he'll appear behind you without warning, then attack. Glide away from the second attack towards one of the edges of the arena to stop him from attacking you from the behind with the final phase of the attack (there's a 50% chance of him appearing at the back if you don't get to the edge). To avoid this last attack, very quickly guard four times, wait half a second (litterally again), then guard one last time. Then attack. Since you will only have a second (once again, litterally,) to attack him at that point, if you miss, he'll use his other attacks, usually using either Disable Magic or Disable Melee before using Berserk again. So be careful not to get hit and keep combo-ing him TWICE to keep him using Berserk over and over again until you kill him. And there you have it. A virtually foolproof guide to defeating Terra, the hardest boss in KH history.
I haven't been getting many views because no one seems to be searching for KH AMVs these days. So please check out my vid: Organization XIII to Mulan's I'll Make A Man Out Of You, "sung" by Marluxia. Thx :). The link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=PKws9bl4OzM
July 21st is the key. Till then will decisions be made. If the outcome is clear, you will all expect to be reminded of this day in the coming years. The final day will arrive somewhere in the tenth year of the century. Even the headmaster of this zone which we all abide as members will obtain glory beyond his wildest dreams for one of his kind will have joined the higher ranks. Rest assured that the boy who had but one destiny to escape the prison will have taken his revenge, and his enemies will forever gape. The face will appear in front of modern appliance once created with no color but now brimming with graphic. For proof, heed the words of Medardo Abad; if you wish it shortened, pronounce J.R. This message has an important meaning. What do you think this letter means? It's not as simple as you might think. REP. POINTS FOR THE PERSON WHO GETS IT RIGHT!!!
