Welcome to my first tut ever!

we will be making a sig like this today

    1. First open up the gimp and make a new file. Mine is 400 by 130 px

    2. Get the part you want on your sig and copy paste it.

    3. Now that you got that ready duplicate your background and gaussian blur it at 30 set it to soft light at 100% opacity.

it should now look like this

    4. take the blurred layer and set it to hard light and set the opacity to 80

    5. afterwards take the background duplicate it and bring it to the top, after that add a ripple effect set it to lighten. Don't go crazy with the ripples though.

    6. Duplicate the background again and bring it to the top, set it to hard light play with the opacity. Mine is at 50

    7. Next make a new layer and fill it with any color gradient map. I chose purple to yellow. Set that to overlay and play with the opacity.

    8. Make a new layer again and fill it with a new gradient map, mine was red to purple. Set this to linear dodge or overlay and play with the opacity.

it should now look something like this.

    9. duplicate your background and bring it over the gradient maps, if your pic is too bright lower the brightness of its too dark then put the brightness up.

now it should look like this.

    10. Now add a border script fu > decor > border > 1x1 black.

    11. Add your text and you are done.

P.S remember to erase over the focal point.

    other outcomes:

    OUTCOMES ARE APPRECIATED.

don't call it negative, call it harsh constructive criticism. Like i said, try tuts. What program do you use?

if you use gimp go to gimptalk.com

(im getting tired of writing that)

    Siggeh 1.

all i see was that you burshed a lot with just some random colors and stuck a render there.

    Siggeh 2.

way too plain and colors don't go with the render. Text is bad also, way too big.

Overall: need to work on brushing and colors, try some tuts, they help out a lot.

Never in a sig should you make the text that big..it takes away from the sig. Also Riku's part is bright.. so you might want to work on that. Also the left-hand side is empty so yeah. Keep at it you'll get better.

P.Syou should really come back to gimptalk..lots of new tuts there.

okay le tme start off by saying that you should definitely work a lot more on the background. Secong the renders you have are crappy because the hair is cut off. Also if yopu set the sora and roxas layers on overlay...its a bad idea. Keep at it I'm sure you'll get better.

first make your sig sizes smalles. I use 400x130.

Second use less crappy renders and blend them in.

Third get better text and make it visible.

    Last follow some tuts www.gimptalk.com

i swear thats about the 8th time i post that...

no photoshop can match up to the crappyness opf mine, that is a fact. As for the sig, its alright, too much white though. BTw did you use a watercolors filter?
