Actually on Kingdom Hearts Two Yen Sid confirmed that Mickey used the Keyblade of Darkness.It is obvious that Sora uses the Keyblade of Light, and Riku uses the Keyblade of Twilight, the owner of the fourth Keyblade (Keyblade of Present) is still unknown. Tetsuya Nomura (The Director of the Kingdom Hearts games has already said the three knights are brand new characters, although if you take a look at the meaning of their names, you get this: Sora - Sky in Japanese Kairi - Ocean in Japanese Riku - Land in Japanese. Ventus - Wind in Latin Aqua - Water in Latin Terra - Earth in Latin As you can see, their names are similar when translated, this, and a confirmation from Nomura is good enough to know they have a connection.
