It may not be a big deal but I kinda felt cheated that the post I replied to wasn't the same one that showed up. This also should really be discouraged, otherwise people could go back and change incriminating things they may have accidentally said. Also it wasn't like you just fixed a typo. You added a lot to your post. For future notice, you should just double post. Sorry.

I just want to second that. That post has definitely been edited. I have screenshotted proof of the original post.

I believe this is the post tale is talking about. In that post you do seem to imply that if you were mafia, that would be what you saw as a good strategy.

You know responding to accusations by making fun of your accuser and voting for them isn't necessarily the best way to go about things. Anyone can say they are town and people voting for them are making a huge mistake. The best way to clear suspicion off yourself is to prove you are an asset to town and you are helpful. (In my opinion you've not been so far) Try to back up your suspicions with more than one line and explain why you did the things you did when accused.

Also I've said this before but being quiet isn't necessarily suspicious meaning someone is mafia, however it is completely unhelpful to town so in a situation like this when we have nothing to go on, lynching the inactive and unhelpful players is our best bet. You probably understood that already, I just wanted to reiterate with you saying it's suspicious.

Btw what does "cleaning house" actually mean? I'm guessing by context it means something like getting rid of all inactive or useless players, maybe? Or does it just mean finish up?

Isn't it a normal thing to defend yourself when you are accuse and explain the reason behind the actions you have taken previously? Yes, if I do that I probably will be seen as less suspicious as people will understand my actions. Not wanting to be seen as suspicious and not wanting to be lynched isn't just a mafia thing. I obviously don't want to be lynched as that means they would be lynching a town member and that would be bad for town. I don't see why any person in this game, town or mafia, would want to appear suspicious and be lynched.

You do remember in those games I was actually town though, I'm yet to be mafia in these games so I don't know if I could do the same when lying. Also I approve of your list. I still maintain that right now when we have very little to go on that, we should lynch the most inactive or least helpful player to town as it reduces our losses if they are town. Additionally we cannot make being inactive a viable strategy for mafia.

Oh and I made a thing, it's not very helpful now but if I keep updating it then it should be. I can't allow other people to edit it as that would be communicating outside the game but feel free to copy paste and make your own. LINK

I'm not particularly suspicious of Mish, at least not for her vote against Hearts, as she was basically just following what I had suggested the post before. Also the method of working down the list to find someone who hasn't posted yet is probably what I'd have done as well.

I am planning on replying to G-dog's suspicions of me but it's long and confusing and yeah. I'll get round to it. Also I'm not unvoting him yet, he's still one of the people that hasn't contributed that much towards town, though actually the post explaining why he suspected me was showed effort that might make me reconsider.

Care to explain you reasoning? I hope you're not just suggesting me because I voted to lynch you.

Btw KH530 and Mish are both girls, just so you know.

Hmm I'm fine with switching targets though I really hope Hearts is able to post a bit more. There is the 5 post rule after all.

Personally I'm tempted to switch to G-dog. I think he implied he hadn't posted much as he hadn't really read it and didn't understand the rules. I think he's telling the truth there but that doesn't mean he cant be mafia and also I don't think he's going to be of much help to the town (at least not without someone trying to explain it to him better) so we won't really lose much if he is lynched. I feel quite mean for saying this though and it's not really the best way to treat new players and if we don't lynch him, making an effort to explain the rules to him more would probably be worth it. I'd like to know people's thoughts on this, I'm open to change.

For now at least, I'll do this

I should clarify that someone with low activity isn't necessarily mafia, in fact there is probably at least one member of the mafia in the more active players. HOWEVER, right now we don't have very much to go on so lynching anyone is a risky as we don't have much to go on. Lynching someone with low activity is the best option in this circumstance as even if they are town, they aren't being much help so we don't lose as much. It would be really bad, if we lynched one of the active players right now and they turned out to be town as that would be a much bigger loss. Even if there is a mafia member who posts a lot, they are more likely to slip up sometime and we have more material to judge them on. Someone quiet is hard to judge their role as we have very little to go on. I'd hate if we all got taken out because we ignored the quiet mafia member who barely said anything. We need to make it so staying quiet and not saying much is not a viable strategy for the mafia.

@Kingdom Hearts530 You really might want to start posting in here. You have 3 posts against you and they won't go away unless you start participating in the thread.

Also @G-dog you have yet to post in the thread. If you don't want to be lynched due to inactivity I suggest you read through the thread and join in with the discussion. Do you agree or disagree with what has been said already? Do you find anyone suspicious?

REMEMBER TO WATCH THE TREAD SO YOU ARE ALERTED TO NEW POSTS.

Also guys just saying you are town right now means basically nothing as there shouldn't be a single player right now, cop and mafia included, that should be claiming to be anything other than vanilla town. Te best way thing you can do is to join the discussion, input your thoughts and suspicions and just be active. We probably won't lynch you at least immediately if we think you're helping town.

This game is set up so there is no soft lynch, unless we all vote for no lynch, somebody will die. This isn't a bad thing as such as lynching during the day is towns only chance to get mafia. As day one is really difficult, if nobody at the end of day one seems suspicious, I say we lynch the most inactive player. (This should hopefully act as motivation to get people to post)

My reasoning was to create discussion relating to the game, which it has done. Specifically I wanted to see how someone would react under the spotlight. As long as she defends herself and doesn't do anything too suspicious, I'll probably unvote her but this is all giving us reference material to see how people behave that we will be able to refer back to later. I didn't want to waste the day on chat that was completely irrelevant to the game.

That's a fair point, I was actually planning on doing that before Cal posted and distracted me.

    ##Kingdom Hearts530

I believe that makes 3 votes for her, 7 is a hard lynch and we don't want that. People should probably refrain from voting for her any more, at least until she's had chance to defend herself and even then we still don't really want a hard lynch.

I'm really liking the long analysis posts, you guys are awesome.

Wow your font/colour is kinda hard to read.

I'm actually really impressed at your analysis (well not that I might be mafia) but how much you managed to take from so little. I think you might be overthinking it a little but this kind of analysis is good on the whole and well done.

I think you're right about what I said taking all pressure off any votes. I didn't really think that through fully. I probably should have just voted for someone and stressed to not let it get to a hard lynch.

By the way HARD LYNCH = 7 VOTES. If someone takes it to a hard lynch I will accuse them of being mafia. We want to make the most out of our time.

    Fair enough

I'm kind of tempted to vote to lynch someone, not to actually lynch them as randomly lynching is bad, but in order to put somebody in the spotlight and see how they react. I know I said that we needed people to talk to have stuff to analyse but I'm not sure completely irrelevant chat helps us much either. I've not played this type of mafia in a long time so I'm not sure how to proceed.

Day one is always difficult as we don't have very much information but I think the most important thing is to get people talking as the more people talk, the more we are able to refer back to later.
