When I did it, I had everything except Quick Run fully leveled up. I know you definitely need to max out Glide for one of the later areas. I'm not sure what level, but you also need Aerial Dodge. In my experience, Beast's Castle is a great place to level up Master Form, especially if you have the Drive Converter ability (or the Sweet Memories Keyblade, which has that). Start in Beast's Room, beat as many enemies as you can by casting Reflect, then exit to the World Map before you change back.

Leveling up FInal Form isn't too hard either. Warp to the Altar of Naught, then go to Ruin and Creation's passage. The second platform from the bottom has about 30 Creeper nobodies spawn. Just spam Firaga until they're all dead, then head back up. You'll have to go to the World Map to get them to re-spawn. Clear out some of the other weaker nobodies in the area if you want, but the Berserkers can take a while, so I'd avoid that.

To get past that area you're stuck on, you need to Quick Run (or Glide, but it's a bit trickier) over the gap, then use Aerial Dodge to get over the pipes.

Good luck. I know it can be a pain. I ended up going through the cavern 3-4 times because I didn't have the right abilities.

Yeah, it's not great. There must be a weird setting somewhere. It's showing up as H.264 codec, which should be fine, but even Quicktime can't play it correctly (it has weird artifacting). WMP isn't exactly known for good compatibility, especially with higher quality video, and in the past I've had to install codec packs to make things work, but Quicktime should be able to play mp4s, no question.

I'm pretty sure the new cutscenes will be fine. I've had no trouble playing the ones from either Misty or Karuta.

As confusing as it is, not all mp4's have the same compression codec, which means that not every player is equipped to open (correctly, or at all) every mp4 file. Try playing them with VLC player, if you haven't already. It's a free media player that will play most files/codecs.

Otherwise, you might want to try converting it to another codec. I find that Handbrake (again, free software) works for me, at the default settings.

If you don't want to go through that, you can just watch them from KH-Vids' youtube channel.

    https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL39CC1162037CE63F

Use KeepVid.com if you want to download them. Youtube videos convert to a pretty standard codec, so you should have no problem playing them.

Also as a side note, the KH2 Final Mix scenes on the site right now are from the 2007 version of the game, for which the extra scenes do not have voice acting, and since there are no subtitles either, you won't know what's happening. If you wait a little while, we should have HD cutscenes from the PS3 collections, which have all those scenes fully voiced.

Didn't know that you didn't get a point from it either. So there's basically no downside.

I always thought it was a cool form in spite of being pretty bad. Though once I realized you don't even gain experience points in Anti-Form, the cool factor wasn't enough of a silver lining anymore.

Drive form loading I think should be top priority, because that's a big performance issue, but otherwise I agree.

    I also forgot to mention the Palace Courtyard skybox in Castle of Dreams, which is just a solid blue color now. Bothers my eyes =_=;

It's important to note that compared to a lot of games, the load times are totally fine. But Kingdom Hearts has always (except for BBS on PSP) had very short load times, so that's the standard that I'm going by.

Like I said, entering/exiting the Absent Silhouette battles is a bit long. Or entering the Cavern of Remembrance. Or going to the gummi ship world map. It may have something to do with the music changing between those parts, but I'm not sure. A cutscene example would be going from DiZ's computer room to Roxas' bedroom.

10 seconds is rare, but there's still a noticeable increase. Speed runners of the game noted that playing 2.5 rather than PS2 KH2FM adds a solid 40 minutes to their run because of loading.

lol, the subtitles are awesome? They're fine, but I'd like the option to turn them off.

As a whole, both are great HD collections, but there are a few mistakes/issues.

Some load times in KH2 are kind of lengthy. When going to adjacent areas it's fine, but when they have to load areas "far away" on the disk (like for Absent Silhouettes and some cutscenes), it can take 10 seconds or more. The most abysmal thing is the Drive form loading. Sometimes it takes 5 seconds to transform. Mind you you're invincible, but in certain situations it can mess you up. Pausing the game will resolve that, but it's annoying. Occasionally it'll even freeze the game for a couple seconds. Surprisingly, BBS load times are actually pretty good, though in my experience the frame rate will drop occasionally. Not to a level that hinders the gameplay though.

In the beginning of BBS, they used the wrong texture for Ventus' heart station. In it, he has his Keyblade and armor, along with the Wayfinder and Land of Departure symbols, which doesn't make sense chronologically. And in the secret ending, Aqua still has her PSP model/textures.

It's very rarely a problem, but sometimes the aspect ratio of certain assets doesn't cover the full screen, and sometimes animation jumps or stops too early, because in the original version the character was offscreen in that moment.

Getting into nitpicking here, but in KH1, on the floating Island where you fight Darkside, the border texture is glitched from certain angles, which is minor, but there's a big closeup on it in the cutscene.

I wouldn't expect them to fix everything, but load times/frame rate problems, as well as important model/texture fixes would be at the top of my list. Also, the ability to turn off subtitles would be nice. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This isn't anywhere close to being announced.

In spite of the fact that I bought another PS3 almost exclusively to play 2.5, I really hope they do this. Ideally with a few fixes and improved load times.

Sure, but it would've been disappointing if they didn't change it. There were some pretty late trailers that still had the Japanese voices, which made me a little nervous.

Someone who got an early copy of the game uploaded the Absent Silhouette battle with Larxene, with what is clearly Shanelle Gray's voice. I didn't discect it too much, mainly because I still want it to be fresh when I play it myself, but it sounds like they used her battle grunts from Re: Chain of Memories, possibly clips from cutscenes, and possibly some new clips as well.

    Exciting news, I think.

What I really like about Aqua is that while she's shown to have a lot of compassion for her friends, she lets them know when she's serious. Through the whole story, from the beginning ("He's not as weak as you think") to the end ("Terra will prove to you he's stronger"), she always vouched for him. So obviously Aqua doesn't think he's hopelessly lost. But in the Radiant Garden scene, she wanted to hear it directly from him. It's a lot more powerful when a friend challenges you on something, rather than prodding "are you sure you're okay?". It's a lot easier to shrug that off. Even when she was being confrontational, she wasn't rude or disrespectful, and when Terra got mad, she backs off a little, but it doesn't help. Maybe there was something she could have said to get through to him, but that's easy to think about in hindsight.

And it's important to remember that at the Keyblade Graveyard, they didn't have much time to talk. Ven shows up in the middle of their conversation, and he's got his own issues to deal with, and things spiral out of control from there. It's reasonable to assume that had things not gone so badly, Aqua wouldn't have just abandoned Terra. It's much more in her nature to try to help.

I'd also like to note that I don't blame Terra for Eraqus' death. Eraqus was out of line, which he himself admitted, and Xehanort dealt the final blow (or at least that seems to be the consensus: it doesn't explicitly show it). But Terra did still lose control, similar to the fight with Braig.

Those with sharp ears might notice that Roxas' battle grunts have been updated to the ones from 358/2 Days and Ven's from Birth by Sleep. Jesse McCartney's early "battle voice" was noticeably different from his cutscene voice. I appreciate the effort they're putting in, though it's going to take a little getting used to the change.

Everglow from KH13.com noticed this at a private event, but this is the first time it's shown to the public. You can hear it near the end of the Final Fantasy cameos trailer.

Functionally that's correct, but that definitely wasn't her attitude. That suggests she thinks she's superior to him, rather than being legitimately concerned for him. Aqua confronted him a couple times because in spite of his explanations, she wasn't actually convinced Terra was on the mend (for good reason). I can't imagine how putting it any gentler would have produced better results.

You're taking Terra at his word that he wouldn't go astray anymore, which isn't what you're supposed to do. Nothing happened between killing his master and flying to the Keyblade Graveyard that transformed him into a stable human being. "I went astray, but no more". Is Aqua's response supposed to be "Okay, I believe you"? After learning that he, just moments ago, helped kill their father figure? Aqua saying "You'll go astray again" wasn't her actually saying he's a lost cause. It was an attempt to get him to stop lying to himself, and thinking he can handle it alone. As evidenced by the next scene, he clearly could not.

I wouldn't suggest Aqua did everything perfectly, considering she obviously didn't tell Terra exactly what he needed to hear. Or do exactly what she should have, since saving Terra unfortunately led to a whole lot of bad stuff. But without putting unrealistic expectations on what a single person can know about how a chain of events will play out, yeah, she did just about everything right.
