If you're interested in slighting Konami, buying a used copy is the best way to do it. Kojima was payed a salary during development, so you aren't hurting him by not purchasing. That's what I would have done, but at this point, I don't like buying physical copies anymore. PS4 requires a full download anyway, so it's just a less convenient version (and more expensive due to tax). I care more about my own ease of use than depriving a multi-million dollar company of $60. If I felt like it would make a big difference though, I would have done that. Konami is going to read into the sales figures however they want to. Let's throw out a number and say they're losing 5-10% of sales from boycott. Having somewhat lower than anticipated sales is only going to justify them firing Kojima in their minds. There would need to be an organized movement/protest ahead of time for it to have a chance of being effective. That said, the first Kojima-less Metal Gear game, yeah, boycott the s*** out of that.
While not impossible, I think that would change the balance of the game way too much for just a "Final Mix". The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a remaster with a demo. Back to MGSV, I knew Ground Zeroes was for current and last gen consoles, and thought The Phantom Pain was only on current gen, but it turns out it's on everything as well. The Fox Engine was built with that in mind: it's extremely good at scaling back to work well on older platforms. But we know that Kingdom Hearts III is only on PS4 and XB1. If it were just a demo, I'd think it would be on those two platforms, and not PS3. The idea that they would create a demo build for the PS3, when the game isn't intended for the console, is a little insane. Putting resources into make an inferior version of just a demo makes no sense. Everyone already knows about KH3, so it's not for advertising purposes. I'll bet that it's a remaster of DDD, and a demo of KH3 included with the PS4 version ONLY. This guy probably only worked on the KH3 part of it, but since this alleged 2.9 is also for PS3, that's how it was written on his page, even if it's only in the PS4 version. And as much as I want it, I don't think it includes 1.5 and 2.5, because it would be weird to re-release that on PS3. But who knows? Early stages of news on an unconfirmed game, obviously. Little to go on right now. But I'll be watching this closely as it develops.
Hate the name, but cool! Only thing that stands out to me is it mentions "attraction flow planning and documentation" under 2.9, which we all know is a feature new to KH3. Like libregkd said, it could be included demo, or maybe a standalone mini-prequel. Hoping for the former if anything, because I really want those ports. Wonder what'll happen in the next few days, if Square responds at all. TGS is fast-approaching. Maybe there'll be an announcement.
Cool stuff, man. Just put an explicit language warning in your post. Cheers!
You always need to activate the game's master code, in addition to any codes you want to use. Can find it here: http://kh-vids.net/threads/kingdom-hearts-ii-ntsc-u-c-codes.114546/ Anything related to the NA release of KH2 (on PS2) should be posted there. Since you're new here, please give the rules a quick read too: http://kh-vids.net/threads/code-vault-rules-and-code-of-conduct.150134/ Thanks, and welcome to the site :) - Locked -
Was kind of "eh" on Big Hero Six, but I can't deny that that looks pretty sick. Hyped for original plot lines, they always turn out better than trying to summarize a full movie in 10-15 minutes of cutscenes. Having said that, I hope they bulls*** a way for the villain to return in some form. Not having a fight against those microbots would be a big missed opportunity.
I heard that 2.5 actually runs at a native 1080p, but I can't confirm. 30fps, but Birth by Sleep has some frame rate issues (not as bad as the PSP version though). Probably for optimization reasons, 1.5 couldn't run well at full 1080p. I think they said they only had 2 or 3 programmers working on the port, so due to lack of hands on the project, maybe they couldn't get it working on time. Optimization on a game is often more important than sheer processing power. It's the reason that bad PC ports run worse than their console counterparts, even on a far superior machine. Only a handful of PS3 games run at 1080p natively, so it is actually impressive when it happens.
It was probably an issue with balancing the game. Auron is one of the stronger party members. Maybe they found that running through the underworld was trivial when Healing Water had invincibility frames, so they had to remove it. That's my best guess.
What's the thread again?
If you're interested in emulating the KH style, the eyes are twice the size that they should be. Same goes for the lips. And his right eye seems to be bulging out (looking at the silhouette of his face). If anything, it should curve in slightly. It's hard to tell, but it looks like it might be a small drawing. Don't be afraid to go bigger. It can feel overwhelming at first, but if you loosen up your hand and make lighter lines, it gives you much more freedom. When you draw small, every move your hand makes counts for a lot. Making little mistakes are less of a big deal on a larger drawing.
Four at a time was a lot. But otherwise I don't mind.
I talked about it in my previous post. Combat is a lot faster in KH2.
Yeah dude, the AI in this game is not perfect. Can't say much beyond what I already said.
What are you talking about with regular attacks missing? At the time you mentioned they were both hitting him. As for fire, it's probably got to do with range. In some cases from that distance, an enemy would be aggressive and walk right into the fire. But Pete was stunned, so he was didn't move forward. Keep in mind that battles are faster and cover more ground in KH2. An enemy can fly across the arena pretty fast, and the AI isn't good enough to predict that. And fire is very short-ranged, so that is amplified. Think about how Donald would often miss with gravity in the first game. It's slow moving and doesn't track. Kind of similar situation.
There's no way for me to know things like that, without having actually worked on it. Could be that since his character is more reserved, it would...
The calendar is the secret boss. World building definitely isn't the "easy part", but animation and scenario planning do take a lot of time and care. I'm agreeing with the September 2017 prediction. I think KH3 will see another two E3's.
I've never heard of that before. It happens every time? So you can't beat Sephiroth? Yeah, that's called "pause buffering". It takes a while for drive forms to load, but it continues loading even if the game is paused.
Yeah, this was in the original. It happens to several of the party members. I think it might be a side effect of them being forced out of the party from a story event. Good catch though.
I can't, really. Pretty sure we talked about this before. They probably just did a bunch of voice takes and when it got time to putting it in the game, realized they came up short, so they added a generic line there. Don't remember if it's in the Japanese version too, but if so, the English just followed the same pattern. Or not. There's probably not a good reason for it. It just is.
I don't consider it a glitch, since it's on the voice acting end. There's no extra audio files found in the game for Aladdin that don't play. Added a couple other things I remembered. KH2: ~ In the cutscene before Axel fight 2, the camera goes through the flames, causing a white flash. BBS: ~ In the Keyblade Graveyard cutscene, the dust particles on the torrent of keyblades Xehanort summons are missing.
