I much, much prefer Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix to the other titles. I don't understand why trolls people are coming to this thread just to say they disagree. If you don't agree, that's great. Good for you. But this thread is for the people who think that KH1 is the pinnacle of the series. KH2 is all flash and no substance. I don't see why anyone respects it at all (The Final Mix fixes tons of problems, however). Almost everyone I've seen that whines about the KH1 gameplay being "clunky" was just bad at it, and I suspect that the aforementioned people in this thread are of no exception. Improved upon? How so? KH1 didn't have perfect gameplay, but it is easily better than KHII also known as "press X the game"

I am also known as Thamauturge on Gamefaqs, Haeralis on Kingdom Hearts Insider, JudgeMagisterDelita on Youtube, and a few other places. Anyways, I am a big fan of the Kingdom Hearts series. To the point where I have beaten the following games: Kingdom Hearts 1, Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix Critical Mode, Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix Level 1 Run, Kingdom Hearts Re Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix. My favorite game in the series is Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix. I think it's quite tragic that the rest of the series isn't as good as it is, and took away so many of the things that were great about the first title. After beating the infamous level 1 run in KHII FM, I really started to just loathe the english Kingdom Hearts II. It's so horribly incomplete, I can't help but pity anyone who doesn't play the infinitely superior Final Mix. Even though it's still flawed, it's miles better and turns the original 5/10 KHII into at least an 8/10. Other than the Kingdom Hearts series, I am a big fan of the Ivalice Alliance series of Final Fantasy games that includes titles such as Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, and Final Fantasy XII. I love the lore in each of these games, and the music is killer. My two favorite video game composers are Hitoshi Sakimoto and Yoko Shimomura. My favorite game designer is Yasumi Matsuno.
It's quite a shame too. Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix is very difficult to navigate, where as Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix is very easy to navigate. I memorized everything in KHII FM due to the fact that pretty much everything had a picture. Without the translation guide, KH1 FM would have been impossible.
I am playing Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix at the moment. It's so much better than the other games in the series.
