Well having gotten the patch file from the source, I highly doubt that you got a bad copy. Try giving a quick rundown on what you did. How did it not work? (i.e. Did the patcher fail? Did the ISO not load?) Did you get any error messages?

I didn't anticipate a FFXV movie, but It has seemed likely that they were going to reestablish the movie branch of the company. I mean with Agni's Philosophy and Witch: Chapter 0 it was clear that they had the tech and the teams in place on some level. And once you've got the infrastructure you might as well use it. Plus it has been 15 years since Spirits Within, with better tools at their disposal it should cut the costs enough that it's no longer that insane a proposition.

At least as we've seen it thus far, I tend to dislike the mark of Mastery because of how arbitrary and pointless it is. In BBS the whole thing takes like 15 minutes of game time and then Aqua becomes entitled to info about The Land of Departure. Because those are related somehow? Then Sora and Riku's exam takes an entire game (which was only made slightly longer by the hijacking nonsense) and Riku get absolutely nothing that I'm aware of. And the reasons stated for Sora and Terra not getting it fall into "You've got to be kidding me" territory.

Although I always found that twist with Sora to be undermined by the twist preceding his final boss. "I know the keyblade didn't choose me, and I don't care." The writers place doubt on if Sora is even a rightful keyblade wielder, it would be kinda weird for them to then declare him a master.

And I haven't seen Ponyo, but I don't feel like it would be that hard to make a case for Summer Wars. IRL side is your romance, net side is your sci-fi. And the two blend across from time to time.

I definitely over thought question 8 (what information do you look for). Plot is what I look for more in games, but reviews generally don't tell you that much there. I kinda have this, "do people generally like the plot?" and "is the gameplay type one I can enjoy or at least tolerate for said plot?"

But aside from that, get to work on your freaking village. It is slow at first but has awesome stuff later on. My biggest tip really is that culture defines how quickly and how far several things progress, so it is worth studying that early.
