To be honest, I don't think Crisis Core is a good title to play as your introduction to the Final Fantasy franchise. Although Crisis Core is the first chapter in the FFVII compilation thus far, it's obvious they developed the game with the mindset that fans of the franchise were already accustomed to the FF ideology/flare.

It's fun in its own right, but I don't think Crisis Core is an RPG that will really attract new gamers to the franchise as well as some of the older titles.

Well, at least it was a little better than the Tidus vs Jecht. No doubt this game shows promise on its gameplay, just I'd like to see more battles on the same level as the Onion Knight vs Cloud of Darkness fight.

Just a shame the video lagged a lot throughout; I'm assuming it'll be more fluid when you're actually playing it.

Seems possible given the popularity of the franchise in NA. I'd sooner expect it in Japan first, however, since they're just so big on collector's items over there.

I just find it funny how the system Jack Thompson used to fight his battle is the very same one who put an end to him.

More hilarious is that Mr. Thompson has decided to fight that system now. The guy never learns.

This reminds me of Family Guy when Peter's dad--who claimed to be devout to his faith--was scorned by the Pope about his actions, then the old man just begins criticizing the Pope in the end.

I don't really think anyone can accurately answer that question for you.

LittleBigPlanet is a community-oriented game, with an emphasis on platforming. It's also not very surprising if a majority of the game's content is user-generated. While MediaMolecule does still say there is a single player campaign, I feel like the game is still geared toward a thriving multiplayer experience.

Will you enjoy it? Maybe. Do you like platforming? Do you like creating things? Do you like playing cooperatively with others? Does the idea of playing stages created by other people like yourself interest you? There are a lot of questions to consider and even then, 'fun' will be subjective when you finally get around to trying it.

I've already made the decision to buy it a long time ago, but many like you are still on the fence. See if you know anyone you know who is planning to get it and try it out at their place when you get it. Or if you have the money, go rent it at the first opportunity and see if it's something you like. Worst thing you can do is base your decision on a review written by someone who just might have completely different opinions on 'fun' and what makes a 'good' game.

I really could too if I didn't have class in the morning. I remember stepping in and he was building a tank, and the first thing that came out of his mouth was: "Okay, so does anyone know how I can make the tank not look like ****?"

Gold. Shame I missed out on the keys.

FFVII is the best selling FF title to date, so from a busines standpoint, it's obvious that SE could consider a remake, but it's certainly not happening anytime soon (at least I wouldn't think so) with all their other games announced and already in development.

From a business standpoint, sure, why not, but as a matter of integrity, they really should just let the damn franchise die. The horse died way before they decided to beat it.

    Pretty awesome stuff.

I do feel kind of bad that I'm pretty sure most of eurogamer's traffic today was NA users. Talk about utter rape.

There's a guy streaming LBP beta as he's playing it here. Not sure how long it'll be up, but I got some laughs when I spectated a bit earlier.

Well... Square never ever confirmed a FFVII remake, so it's not really that they can't make up their minds; the public just keeps on thinking they know what SE is thinking. O_o

    @Mail Jeevas

That's not a confirmation at all. That was the original tech demo they used to showcase what the PS3 'would be capable of', which even by today's standards, it's already capable of more than that.

The video's real, but that isn't proof that they're making a remake. In fact, I'm betting that they purposely chose to use FFVII as a demonstration because people would assume it meant a remake, when to this day, there's yet to be any announcement.

    Square-Enix doing a horror game?

I shall have to keep an eye on this one.

I'm going to just assume that since Nintendo is obviously still making money without the inclusion of this new technology for their platform, they're simply just not going to throw it out to the public until it's 'needed', and by that I mean they might just wait until they have a legitimate reason (from a business/financial standpoint) to give it out to consumers.

Granted, anyone who read that article is now aware that Nintendo is completely backhanding the entire ordeal of storage issues, but considering a large majority of Nintendo's profits are coming from the casual crowd, I'm pretty sure most of them haven't (and probably never will) come across that article which blatantly shows proof of HDD capability. Actually, you know what, I bet a lot of those people who played on those kiosks have no idea of the implications.

In the end, when Nintendo finally does decide to bring HDD capability to the Wii for the mass market, most of them are just going to toss their hands up going "Yay! Finally they did something about it" when in reality the development for such an option started quite some time ago, right under their noses.

Make fun of the Wii all you want, Nintendo is still getting filthy rich off it.

    Industry leaders FTW. Lulz.

Dead Space has some nasty **** in it. The Lullaby trailer they released was probably one of the creepiest game trailers I've ever seen.

God, I'm not sure if I wanna slave away at collecting all those flags just to confirm this.

The game's been out a while already, surely there's some fanatic who would've been able to confirm this via YouTube? *hasn't checked*

No particular order; not in the mood to think hard enough to accurately place them either.

    - Super Smash Bros Melee - To date, my 'most played game' ever.
    - Shadow Hearts: Covenant - Favourite RPG series.
    - Call of Duty 4 - To date, my 'most played FPS'.
    - Super Mario Bros. 3 (I can list this separately from SSBM, right? <.<)
    - Final Fantasy XI - invested 2 solid years into this game
    - Guitar Hero 3 - Yay, guitars. Not sure why I liked this more than Rock Band.
    - Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers - Good oldie.
    - Killer Instinct - Loved the combo system in this game.
    - Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ - Great bonus material.
    - Tetris - Fitting blocks together is fun.

I'm probably just going to get this as a rental.

While possibly enjoyable, there isn't enough substance and longevity in the game that'll make me wanna shell out $60 for it. Usually I'll have to be a big fan of a franchise in order to spend that much money on a game that'll take me about 8-10 hours to finish while most likely not getting anything much else out of it.

I have too many other games to buy this year anyway, so I'll just preserve my wallet on this one.

You can do all of them without restarting the game, but bear in mind you have to redo the entire chapter over again if you want to do all the investigations of a particular mission.

This might be okay for the earlier missions since they are relatively shorter. However, the later ones sometimes have 1-2 sub-bosses before the final one, which may take longer to get through, so consider that when you skip an investigation during a seemingly longer ordeal.
