I was reading on 1up today that Sony has basically stated that there will never be PS2 backwards compatibility on PS3 ever again. Sure the PS2 is still selling...but still. How many people traded in their PS2 for a PS3 so that they wanted to have one system to do everything. I don't see why they can allow PS1 backwards compatibility then. People should go buy a PS1. Shady marketing like this pisses me off.
