Delivery of Cakes- Shawn, Yukyo, Lakoda Lakoda took the reins as told and listened in on the conversation. Why was Shawn asking what to do instead of doing it? Then again, Lakoda never been on a mission with him and figured he was learning on the fly. Still, it was better to act than wait to be told what to do in this line of work. When Yukyo threw the box at the bird, Lakoda wanted to slap her forehead. "Use your sandstorm! Boulders! Anything! They're pissed, and they're not going to fall for any more antics!" Just as predicted, the bird caught the box in his talons, opened it up, squawked in dismay, and then threw it back at the group at full speed. Lakoda turned her head and snapped her fingers at the box coming towards them, sending a powerful sound wave at it and bits of cardboard and rocks went all over the place. It was then before Lakoda could snap the reins and figure out an alternative route that the wind around them suddenly picked up, the wagon and the group were caught up in a powerful vortex of wind that was gradually sucking the oxygen from the group. A blurred figure could be seen running through the currants and Lakoda snapped her fingers again, breaking the current and sending the one with the speed magic flying back. She then snapped the reins and started to go around, getting off the road and rolling on the bumpy grass to try to get away from the shadows. "CAW! Heavy egg rain!" The bird suddenly unleashed an rain of eggs, sailing towards them at high speed. Lakoda was busy driving the wagon, so she couldn't focus on maneuvering the wagon off road and attacking. It would have to be up to someone to somehow make the oncoming eggs break open and be redirected away from the wagons so no man or animal would be harmed in the line of fire. A Price Unpaid- Gavin, Zephyr, Thea The spider was hit back by the powerful Wyvern’s Flare attacks by Zephyr, unable to dodge easily due to its colossal size. Its large legs were tangled within itself and then it fell on its back, screeching like a banshee and poison dripped from its fangs. While it was down, it was spouting poison out towards the group, but it only made a trail towards it. Thea's flames caught the trail on fire, and it suddenly ignited, spreading to the downed spider and caught it in a bonfire of flames. The spider squealed and writhed as the fire consumed it. Izra saw that they had an advantage now and brought her flute up to her lips, playing a few shrill notes. The shadows snaked along the ground in the flickering light. A spike suddenly went up from the ground, impaling the spider in the head. The noise stopped all together, and the spider crumbled in ash. Izra lowered her flute and looked at the group. "Nice work. Is everyone alright before we move forward?" Village in Peril- Conrad, Everette, Samuel "Wait, Everette, I can blind the snake." Samuel adjusted his glasses on his nose as he looked at the snake and then back at the full moon that was out now. "True, I used most of my magic earlier to save Renza, but the sun reflects off of the moon. I'm getting some energy back as we speak. I can blind the snake, you two can go in for the kill. I don't know how safe it would be to cut off its tongue... Those teeth- those fangs are huge. We just need to try to cut off its head as fast as possible, or deliver some kind of blow through its head to end it." Samuel didn't like the smell in the air. It smelled kind of like death and decay, perhaps something acidic as well... "Whatever we do, we're going to be fighting along the water. If it's this thing that's causing the poison, do whatever you can to not inhale the water or swallow it. As much as I would like to, I don't have enough energy to save everyone. And I don't have an antidote to administer yet..."
As the scene unfolded before her, it was apparent they needed to move forward. However, she looked back at Gurgi looking a little lost and sad. Even though Taran was right, she understood what fears were like and went to him. She knelt in front of him on one knee and placed a hand on the creature's shoulder, smiling gently at him. "Your courage will come someday. We'll take care of Taran and get Hen Wen back." She carefully patted him on the shoulder and then stood, shuffling after the others. Even with the energy bar eaten, it only seemed to make her feel more awake but not strengthened in any way. She hung back with Master Thallasa while the others were leading the way, talking amongst themselves. She stayed quiet, fiddling with the ring on her finger as she glanced up at the scary looking castle ahead of them. She briefly wondered how everyone else was doing and how their original masters were doing as well. Everything seemed to become increasingly impossible with fighting the Light Chaser, and it didn't help she felt like she had a huge target on her back. They couldn't let him go through with his plans, but what advantage did they truly have over him if he was powerful enough to revert worlds from the darkness, send friends to other realms, and train incredibly strong keyblade wielders? She knew optimism only went so far.
The princess of heart was surprised when Qamar noticed her lack of energy and smiled a little as she took the bar in her hand. “Thanks... you did well too. Don’t sell yourself short.” She nudged Qamar’s shoulder with hers and then opened the wrapper, downing the bar as fast and efficient as she could without choking. They were on the move, but if Illiana had a tea break, a little snack break wouldn’t hurt. She put the wrapper in her ultimate bag and then continued onward, hoping that Master Thallasa has everything in control on that side.
And it was over. Aria could say she was impressed by the way Illiana took out the last few. Everyone, including Aria herself, was a little beat up except Glyde. They got the job done and that’s all that mattered. “Way to go everyone,” Aria said with a thumbs up and a small smile. It was strange, she was feeling a little more tired after a fight than before. Was it because the protection on the charm bracelet worn off? She then raised an eyebrow at Illiana when she randomly brought tea out, but coming to find out this was how the older girl coped with things, Aria wasn’t complaining. “That way,” Aria answered Illiana’s question, pointing to the tree line. “Let’s go, we don’t have any time to waste.” With that, the princess of heart took the lead, heading towards where she saw Master Thallasa disappeared last. There was a task to focus on at hand with Hen Wen being snatched by literal dragons after they were entrusted by Dallbin to keep an eye on them. That, and Aria was doing her best to keep a level head. With mostly unfamiliar faces and no protection magic anymore, Aria wanted to get to the master as quick as possible. She knew all three, but she didn’t know them as she did Take, Torrin, and Tinarah... she was starting to miss them already. Them, and Master Choma as well. Even with the brief encounters and little time to talk, Aria felt like she could trust Torrin as well since he helped her on more than one occasion in recent events when she needed help. Take was nice and opened up to her when she needed a friend after learning about Mika’s untimely demise, and although she changed recently, Tinarah has been around Aria since she was training under Master Choma and she felt a special connection to the girl. She figured the others would come in time... at least she hoped so. She felt like she got off the wrong foot with Glyde, Illiana was unpredictable and Aria wasn’t sure if Illiana even liked her, and although Qamar opened up to her, Aria wasn’t quite sure what to make of her yet... things would work out though, Aria liked to believe.
Claiming Doublecast 2 in AP (I needs to hit more stuff!) 1 in HP
There were only a handful left. They could do this. Aria felt close to falling short, but she had to prove she could keep herself in good fighting spirits. She couldn't be locked up in the castle for not being able to handle herself, not now. Even though her Drive Form was now gone, and the chance to do more damage with other magic was gone, she could still pack a punch somewhere. Raising her keyblade above her head, she cast a Thundura on three targets and slashed them down. Casts Thundura on Gargoyles, reducing three to 12AP, thus killing 3 off with Thundura and NO MORE. Aria was forced to cast another Cura spell on everyone since more than half of the party was dying. Literally. Or close near death. Aria saluted to Qamar when she thanked her for the shield and then hopped back to it. Illiana took out the Invisibles but wasn't doing too well, and Qamar was kind of on the low side as well. So was Aria though. This was so much more painful than she thought it would be. But nothing could compare to the blast from Quietus. Casting Cura on the whole party, Aria used Vicinity Break with the keyblade in Spear form, hitting four air pirates down to low health. Once she had them on the ropes, she changed her keyblade back to normal and barraged them with attacks. One Air Pirate remained, and Aria decided to take that one out as well. All that was left now were these silly Gargoyle Heartless, and Aria growled under her breath as she moved in to take out two of them before stepping back once more. "Come on guys! We're almost done here!" Aria called out to her friends, trying to give encouragement to keep going. At least there was no Magic Tech whatever to limit them this time. Aria stumbled back when she was assaulted on all sides. She actually felt the pain of being hit full on from the enemy side, and gritted her teeth as she adjusted her grip on her keyblade. "What...?" She glanced down at the bracelet as it was gleaming back at her in a sinister manner. The girl realized she did not see a protection bubble of light at all. Her heart sunk and the battle around her seemed to slow down immensely. She was actually as vulnerable as everyone else now. And she was away form the people she trusted the most. She could feel the panic ebbing into her throat and temporarily forgot there was a fight going on. The roar of a monster broke her thought process and she whipped her head around in time to see Taran down for the count, and then Hen Wen being snatched up. And with that, Master Thallasa was off, leaving Aria alone with everyone else. It almost reminded her of that one time she was up against a group of heartless at Master Choma's castle and fought until she was nearly beaten down, thinking it was a test of strength. If she wanted to catch up with Master Thallasa and Torrin, they were going to have to end this battle as quick as possible. Taking a quick breath through her nose, Aria placed a closed fist over her chest, casting a rainbow shield on her party members with Rainbow Glow. She then raised her keyblade in the air with new determination in her eyes. "First Dawn!" A light went around her body and her clothes temporary changed into the primary colors red, yellow, and blue. She then spun her keyblade in her hand and then changed the form into a bow, firing ice at an Air Pirate heading her way through a Blizzard spell. She then switched back to her normal keyblade form and took down an Invisible, and then transformed her keyblade once more to a spear as she threw it straight at a Gargoyle about to jump at her. Aria smiled as Gurgi handed the apple back over without little to no problem. As promised, Aria knelt down to Gurgi’s height and pulled out a shiny apple of her own from her bag, and also a chocolate bar. “Here you go, Gurgi. As promised.” She opened the chocolate bar wrapper and pulled it down part way. “I... don’t know if you like chocolate, but it’s pretty tasty.” After handing the snacks over to the furry creature, Aria stood to attention. Taran told them they could come, which made Aria relieved he would put their trust in them. “Aye, you’re the boss,” Aria said with a small salute. After all, Taran probably knew more about this world than them. It didn’t take long for them to find Hen Wen, and she was in trouble it sounded like. Aria looked to the others before sprinting ahead. She gasped when they came on the clearing and saw the swarm of heartless around the pig. It was an odd sight to see so many attack an animal, but they were told she was a special pig. She then saw a Gargoyle heading over to Taran and summoned her keyblade, charging at it with full force and a yell. She slashed at it a few good times and then held a defense position as she analyzed the situation. “Don’t worry, we got you covered!” A group of Soldier Heartless were coming over and Aria unleashed Sonic Blade on them, taking out 7 of them. Two Air Pirates headed her way as well, which she took care of swiftly. "Owowow, alright, alright now. No need to grip my leg so tightly," Aria said to Gurgi as she did her best to pry the creature off of her calve, but to no avail. "Well, uh, we were traveling by and Dallben was on his way to you when he twisted his ankle. He sent us to you instead. I'm Aria by the way. This is Illiana, Qamar, Glyde, and Master Thallasa. We're warriors of light in a sense. We go around fighting dark creatures and helping others out." She then looked down at Gurgi and moved her leg slightly so she could get a better look at him. "It's not nice to take others munchies, er... Gurgi? Gurgi, yeah. Tell you what. I have some munchies in my bag of mine. If you give Taran his apple back for Hen Wen, then I'll give you something even tastier in return. Ah? How about it? Maybe I'll throw in twoooo munchies and crunchies if you're good."
Delivery of Cakes- Shawn, Yukyo, Lakoda Just at the group was traveling along, a wall of shadows suddenly appeared in front of the wagon. The wisps from it waved violent in front, threatening to hurt anything that ran into it. The horses were none the less frightened, and neighed wildly. Lakoda gasped as they were suddenly cut off, and then looked up to the sky. The giant parrot bird was heading their way. They were back for more. A Price Unpaid- Gavin, Zephyr, Thea The spider was hit by the sword, and a piece of leg fell off. It screamed and toppled one way, only for it to regrow it in a matter of seconds and be back on its eight legs. As soon as the other leg was cut off by Shawn, that leg soon grew back as well. And then some of the flames from Thea hit it, making the spider scream and then shunned away from the fire wall. Growing pissed, the spider spat out webbing in all directions of the party members, hoping to trap them somehow. As soon as Izra saw the legs grow back, she frowned deeply. She never actually fought the spider and knew its properties and strengths and weaknesses, but it would prove to be a challenge. Izra dodge rolled out of the way off the webbing, only to stand up and step into a fresh blob that held her foot stuck. Cursing under her breath, Izra played the flute shrilly, making small shadows appear around her foot to cut away the webs while another wall of shadows launched to the spider, pushing it back against a tree. Again, the spider was not pleased and regained its footing, spraying the group with poison heading their way. Village in Peril- Conrad, Everette, Samuel The journey on the road was uneventful to say the least, though the passing clouds over the moon made it eerie and bleak. As the group approached the river, there was a foul stench in the air, just like in the poisoned rain water sources in town. There was a hissing sound, and a giant head of a serpent rose above the tree line, its fork tongue slithering out and tasting the air. Its eyes glowed yellow, and it seemed to be on guard. Samuel slowed down and stopped all together, grabbing the boys by the shoulders and then pointed silently to the treeline with wide eyes. "What... the hell... Tell me no one has noticed this before." How could the snake have been missed before?! It was freaking huge!
Aria followed alongside Master Thallasa, listening to her speak and throw in her own commentary. It was then she heard a voice and perked up. She looked back at the others before going ahead and seeing a boy holding up a stick, threatening a fuzzy creature on the ground. It seemed that the fuzzy creature had stolen an apple or something, but the way the boy was handling it seemed a bit rough. "H-Hey! Leave it alone!" Aria called out to the boy. As Master Thallasa said, it was hard to know what to interfere with in the world. The fuzzy fluffy thing suddenly scrambled up to its feet, darting over to Aria as it hid behind her legs. "Save Gurgi from the smacking and wackings on his poor tender head!" the creature exclaimed, pointing a shaky finger at the boy with a stick.
Aria blinked as she watched Master Thallasa pretty much scold the two keyblade wielders like she was their mother. She whistled lowly and tucked her hands behind her back, nervously kicking at the ground as she looked away from the situation but kept her ears trained to hear what the master had to say. Once it was done, Qamar brought up some issues that Aria clearly missed while she was dealing with Quietus and the nightmare trying to murder her. She faced the others and frowned slightly. "Look, I don't know what happened when I was separated from you two, but I don't want you guys to fight or be sent away. What if the Light Chaser's apprentices show up again and we're too busy squabbling amongst ourselves? I’m pretty strong, but I can only do so much to defend myself. And another princess will be depending on us soon to get her to safety, and the last thing she needs to worry about is-" She was interrupted when Qamar went on ahead to look for Taran. She shook her head and then looked to Illiana. "Ya don't have to be nice to us. Just work with us a bit. I mean, I'm not even supposed to be out here with you guys... I'm the one that should be back at the castle." She rubbed the back of her neck and then looked to Master Thallasa. "So I guess we call out for Taran until we find him?" she asked, gesturing to Qamar who was already ahead of them.
Delivery of Cakes- Shawn, Yukyo, Lakoda "I did, right when we were out of harm's way," Lakoda replied. "They're all safe and together. No dust on them either." She was nervous for the fact that they could be followed. She knew the enemy was probably holding back to test them and their skills. And now that Lakoda showed them she wasn't some weak thing, and the others showed what they were capable of, she knew if they had any chance to run into them again, they wouldn't get away so easily. Lakoda kept her eyes trained behind her, and occasionally glancing up at the sky. She hoped they were dazed enough to have a slow start, even the one with the speed magic. "We only have a glen or something to go through if I remember before we get to the manor. Merry Glen?" A Price Unpaid- Gavin, Zephyr, Thea "Alright, let's move in," Izra announced. Kyo bowed to the group and wished them luck, jogging to go back towards the village before he would be missed as they planned earlier. Izra was the first to move, taking in a sharp breath with her flute clutched in her hands before running and then somersaulting into the clearing first and jumping to stand up once more. Spoiler: Mini Boss Spoiler: Mini Boss The spider was huge to say the least. It stood a bit taller than the average grown human, and its fangs looked like it could crush a head like a grape. It turned around and reared up at the intruder, making an angry chirping sound before it began to charge. Izra inhaled sharply and blew into her flute, letting out a high pitch shrill. The air seemed to shake in front of the young mage and knock the spider back. It screeched loudly as it was assaulted by the spell, and stumbled around a bit to regain its bearings. Growing frustrated already, the spider spewed out a green liquid from its mouth, in which Izra was quick to dodge roll out of the way. The foliage the poison touched hissed and curled into blackness, instantly dying from the touch. Village in Peril- Conrad, Everette, Samuel Renza didn't exactly know what was going on, but she could sense they were about to be on the move, and Conrad was going to leave her. She could feel herself being wrapped in the blanket, and she opened her eyes again once more. "Conrad..." her voice was strained and weak. She took in a deep, shuddering breath and forced herself to keep her eyes on the young man that was taking care of her. "Be... careful..." She reached in her pocket and pulled out a trinket which turned out to be a crumpled duck feather on a string. She shakily placed it in Conrad's hand and smiled a little, her breathing off but she was still fighting to survive. "Come back soon..." In the short time she knew the boys, she considered them as the family she longed to have. Soon she was handed to the chief, who assured Conrad he would take care of Renza. He seemed shook up over her condition, along with what was happening with his village. But the mages were here to take care of it, and so he left the rest in their hands. "All of the water supplies in town are contaminated, and the guards that we met this morning are dead," Sam filled in the blanks for Conrad and then went alongside Everette as they headed to the river. There was a full moon making it easier to see, even with the clouds moving over it here and there. "I've been pushed before," he said to Everette with a small smile. "It's not the greatest, but I can do it." He then grew serious as they moved quickly, keeping his eyes trained around him. "I have a bad feeling we were expected. I could be paranoid, but with how everything has been going... It seems like it was planned. Whoever they are, or whatever we are, we need to keep alert. This could be a trap we're running into."
The princess of heart was already missing the others. It seemed like everyone had bad people skills in this group. Resisting the urge to slap her forehead and rub her hand down her face in frustration, and breathed in and out slowly instead. She looked down at Qamar who seemed openly disheartened with the whole interaction, and then sprung back to life once more while Illiana was trying to keep herself busy. “Apologies,” Aria said to the pig keeper. “We’ve been on the road a while so some of us are on edge...” She rubbed the back of her neck nervously, hoping that if either two of the girls took offense to her words, they’d tell her AWAY from the guy. They were just seeming more and more incompetent to do any task that was asked of them with the way they were interacting amongst themselves, and showing their inability to work with a group. A small one at that. “But we’re willing to help,” Aria added in, gesturing to Qamar to show that she agreed with the girl in that sense. It seemed like this world had a dark force at work as well. The Horned King and a Black Cauldron able to summon the dead sounded the stuff of nightmares. The faster they could get on task, the quicker they could stop this from happening. And from their group from falling apart in front of the man.
Aria could see that frustrations were rising, at least on Illiana’s side, and Qamar was “graceful” as ever with her social skills. Master Thallasa and Glyde were staying quiet. Aria scratched her head and then stepped by Illiana. “My name is Aria, this is Illiana. That’s our, uh, sort of teacher Master Thallasa, that’s Glyde, and you already met Qamar.” Introductions were out of the way, now it was probably time to state their business and purpose. Qamar already said what they did, but not quite exactly who they were. Aria glanced around to get a feel for this place. It wasn’t anything like the last world they just came from but more like her farm on Amerath if not a little less modern. She quietly went through a few terms in her head while chewing on the inside of her cheeks before looking to Dallben. “We’re sort of magicians. We wield magic with weapons of light to fight off dark creatures, as Qamar said. We only come to places where these creatures are around, or if anyone needs our help. We make sure everyone is safe and out of harm’s way.” She offered a smile. “But yeah, we are kind of strange folks in a strange land.” She decided to leave out the fact that why were looking for a princess of pure light. That seemed stranger than them fighting off monster and maybe sinister. Even if they were to explain that the princess was in danger and needed to go with them, Aria for sure wouldn’t trust them if someone came to her with information like that without any proof that they were good or bad. “I don’t see any odd dark creatures, but uh...” she looked to the sprained ankle now splinted. “Maybe we can help you out? You said you were going to meet up with your assistant. Or if there’s something else we can help you with, I’m sure we’ll be more than willing to offer our help. Right?” She asked the group as she looked over her shoulder at them. “I mean, we did cause your ankle to be twisted. I’d feel bad if we couldn’t do something for you.”
Aria said her goodbyes to the group, giving Tinarah a quick hug and a word of good luck, and telling Take he did a fantastic job putting the place back together. It was kind of weird moving forward with the people she wasn't the most comfortable around, or knew that well while leaving the ones she had grown attached to behind. She had to be able to adapt to changed like this though. She never expected the world to wait on her hand and foot to give her what she wanted. As she stepped forward though the portal, she jolted in surprise when an elderly man screamed at them and called them demons. He seemed to have twisted something too since he was struggling to get up. "Ah! I'm sorry!" Aria apologized quickly as she bowed her head in respect. "We didn't mean to startle you. We're not demons, we're..." She trailed off, realizing that no matter what she tried to explain, this guy probably wouldn't believe her. She wouldn't believe complete strangers either if they popped out of no where and scared the living daylights out her. "Here." She summoned her colorful keyblade and gently raised it above her head. "Cura!" With that, a glowing green light encircled the elderly man. Aria unsumoned her keyblade in a flash of light and walked up to the man, smiling softly as she extended a hand out to her. "There. All better? I'm so sorry we came in unannounced like that. Let me help you up." She then gradually extended a hand out to the man to get him off the ground and someplace more comfortable. That was, if he accepted her help at all after that grand entrance.
“AH!!” Aria’s arms flailed out on either side of her, catching herself before she fell out once again. “I’m okay!” She called as she shakily stood up. She then picked up her bag, which we will conviently already have outside with her belongings cause why not, and slung it over her shoulder. “We’re ready to go?” Aria asked Master Thallasa. She was more than ready to get out of this world and continue the mission to find the princesses of heart. Her hair was ready, she was dressed, and she was ready to get her mind off of things now.
The girl almost fell out of the swing when Qamar suddenly stood up, but braced her foot on the ground and steadied herself so she remained seated. It seemed like everyone had some kind of crisis to process today... Only Aria could grasp a bit what Qamar meant by doing her father’s biddings... it didn’t sound like a healthy or safe situation, and made her life on the farm much more peaceful sounding. She listened, and watched, not wanting to interrupt Qamar or shut her down like it seemed like she did with Tinarah. When she sat back on the swing and showed her a picture, it gave Aria a que to join in. “I’ve got this ring,” she said as she lifted the index finger it rested on for Qamar to see. “Grandpa Gero gave it to me when I was seven; said it was from my parents... I never met my parents. It was just me and my aunt and uncle. He told me they wanted me to have it and they loved me...” Aria then pulled up her knees to her chest and rested her chin on her knees. “It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows,” Aria spoke softly. “I’d never had to go through what you’ve endured, but it still wasn’t great... but I don’t try to let it get me down so much. I had people who loved me, and did their best to keep me safe and happy.” She has opened up to Torrin the other night about one of her memories, and she was already feeling emotionally exhausted as it was. It was just the start of the day however. She didn’t feel like spilling her life story out so much right now.
