SO I've seen this floating around, not just on Tumblr but on YouTube and News Articles and all that stuff. TV Tropes actually has this for the issue: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BuryYourGays I see people, not just people in the LGBT+ community but other people as well REALLY quick to judge the media and Hollywood for killing off their gay characters, but I think the criticism isn't that well-founded. I understand the pain of trying to find a movie about lesbians on Netflix, that isn't straight up 'erotica' or that isn't a coming out story or a tragedy. But at the same time, to say that they're killing off the lesbian characters in movies because they're lesbians, I just don't know about that. LOTS of YA books, whether it's straight characters or not, kill off their characters. Even most popular romance novels, kill off one of the people that are in the relationship. You have your John Green type of guy, your Divergent series, your bad Netflix movies, your 1$ romance novels, Shakespeare and all of that stuff, in which someone in a relationship either dies or loses their memory. Something ******. I think that the problem is, is that, most movies and books nowadays kill off their characters. It happens regardless of their sexual orientation, characters just die. The coolest and edgiest thing you can do now in a movie or show or book is kill off your characters in the most painful, possible way that your audience will be effected by. My thought is, if a writer makes a romance story, isn't it just interchangeable? If John Green said "Hey I want to write about these two kids with cancer but one of them has more cancer and dies", and made the characters gay, I mean obviously one of them are STILL going to die regardless. Because in the actual book it was a straight character and they STILL died. If you change the characters but keep the plot, the result is the same regardless. Do you see what I mean? I don't think that a writer has the "I'm writing a movie about lesbians and one of them has to die that's the rule" What I mean is that, for example, when I first started writing my book it was a straight couple, later I changed it to be a lesbian couple because it was my artistic vision, or something, but that didn't change the outcome. The outcome was still just as ******, and possibly actually better then what I originally had. Maybe that's why this peeved me so much because I don't want to be the author that 'buried my gays'. I think the problem is is the representation here, which I don't want to get too much into but I think it's important. If in 1/10 movies someone in the couple DOESN'T die, then obviously when you get to movies about gay couples, it's probably like, 1/2, because there just aren't as many movies, so it seems like they're dying more. I think it's an Inductive Reasoning: I've watched 10 movies with gay couples, one dies, therefore, all movies with gay couples must have a character who dies. It's the same as me saying I've read 10 Shakespeare plays and each one was a tragedy, the rest of his plays must also be tragedies because **** man we're past 10 and all of them I've seen end this way. Obviously they're not all tragedies, but after you read Merchant of Venice, a comedy, as your final play in high school, your sub-conscious is like, yeah, everyone's just going to die because I've read 10 other ones and everyone's just died off like flies. It's the sample size and representation if ANYTHING because the representation is so minimal we only get through so many movies and books before we've basically lost all hope. I know there are lots of people who just want more main-stream movies that have a gay romance with a 'regular plot' that doesn't fall into the "coming out story" or "One of us has aids" category, and I want that too! That would be awesome, but where I don't get on the bandwagon are the people saying that this is some sort of conspiracy or something.

And I got no ****ing sleep last night. I kept waking up, I kept dreaming about taking the exam so every time I woke up I was like "PLEASE I just want to get it over with". Then I had a dream that my bus got hit with another car and fell off a cliff so my mom and I were trying to figure out how I was going to get to school on time, and when I woke up from that I was super confused. And when I was trying to go back to bed I was still in a dreaming/lucid state so my mind kept thinking of all this ****: 1. RosterTeeth acknowledging my fanficition as canon 2. Would I rather die before the completion of Kingdom Hearts with the hope it would outlive me for a long time or feel hallow without it for the rest of my life? 3. If Spider Riders was made today would it have an adult audience like most TV shows directed at kids today like Adventure Time and Gravity Falls? 4. "You know Jessica said that you're supposed to go to the dentist every six months but I haven't gone in like 8 years are my teeth going to die?" 5. When are these colonies gonna rise up? When are these colonies gonna rise up? And I'm here through all this at the back of my head, since it's basically one of those dreams when you know it's a dream but **** man you can't do anything to wake you up so I'm basically looking at myself outside of my body LIKE GO THE **** TO BED. I count, I think of relaxing things but nope, dream!cal needs to sing Hamilton in her head and think about all this right now, at exactly 2:31 in the morning.
When I get too hot in my sleep or too cold I start to have nightmares, and during my nightmare spree last night something really weird happened. So I was having this dream about playing Life Is Strange, and I guess I was at the end and in my dream Chloe was planning to run away or go somewhere or something. So we (Max), had to pick between going with her or staying in town. Obv I decided to go with Chloe because I have the biggest crush on her tbh, but Chloe asked something else and I guess we gave her a niave, kiddy answer or something cause she ruffled our hair, said we were just so cute but she couldn't actually take us with her. And I was like "whaaaaat" so then Chloe was like "There's somewhere else you belong" and THE TORNADO JUST SUCKED US UP. Not even both Chloe and us just us. And so here I am in my dream and I guess with some real life subconsciousness freaking out cause I just killed Max some how, and the screen fading in from blackness to the Tinkerbell from the Tinkerbell being born in darkness and stuff, and then it fast forwarded to Tinkerbell with all of her friends from the books (which was weird since I had to animate the book characters to look like her in my head, imagination I guess) This wasn't the weird part, I woke up from my dream in another dream I guess, and in that other dream it just felt super real. Anyway @Misty was in my house, and I asked her if that was the actual ending "I know Disney had Square by the balls but that isn't true is it?" And dream Misty was like "no it was just a dream Cal, go down and play it and you'll see." And so I went downstairs onto my computer so I could play the game, and I picked to say I would stay in town instead of going with Chloe, and she got mad and pushed us off the roof! And that's when, you guessed it, the same screen showed and we were reincarnated into Tinkerbell So I fainted in my dream, and woke up in the real world but because my dream was so real for a few minutes I thought Misty was still in my house and so I called her to tell her that the game did in fact end like this and it wasn't me going crazy, but then my mom came into my room and told me to stop talking to whoever I was talking to on skype and go back to bed since I had an exam today. That's when I realized I had a dream inside a dream and I was just really confused.

Hey guys! As the title suggests, for this CI, I was looking at the TRUE meaning of the Oblivion Keyblade! For some context, while looking around on TV Tropes, I found this: Most of the Keyblades were renamed too, though not translated - aside from Oblivion (Sugisarishi Omoide - Passing Memories) and Oathkeeper (Yakusoku no Omamori - Oath’s Charm), all the Keyblades had Gratuitous English names in the original. This is about Sora, but the 'Part Two' is going to be about Roxas! Spoiler: What I changed if anyone cares This time I tried to leave some of the cutscenes just on in the background as background noise, I put it SUPER low so it wasn't distracting, and I also tried to make things more like a conversation where I didn't write myself over as much when I didn't get things 100% perfect. @♥♦♣♠Luxord♥♦♣♠ I payed a lot more attention to the audio and tried to leave more natural pauses between sentences. @Glen As you mentioned before this should REALLY be on the KH-Vids Channel as well but... uh.. Lately I've been thinking about the Kingdom Hearts Community and that relationship with the game in terms of writing up original characters, roleplays, artwork, and fanfiction etc, but I wanted to focus on FanFiction in particular. So I actually have a few questions to ask and I'd like to put in my own ideas on it afterwards. 1. Have you ever read Kingdom Hearts FanFiction, if so how often? (Once in a while, every week, etc) 2. Has this FanFiction been about Future Games that are yet to be released? (A lot of 'Right After Kingdom Hearts 2' Fanfiction was popular it seems before we realized there were going to be 3+ more games before the release.) 3. Has this FanFiction had 'OTPS' or any kind of shipping, if so, which ones? 4. Do you think that the FanFiction has played a role in keeping you interested or within the 'fandom' in between games while waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3? You can also put in your own comments if you haven't read any FanFiction. But if so I'd like to know why (if any reason lol) For me the last question is probably the most important one when I've been asking this. For a lot of fans of different series, FanFiction is a way of keeping the 'hype' going. Kingdom Hearts is different in the way that it's fanbase has grown up etc, and a lot of people have been writing Fiction that is strictly Kingdom Hearts based for YEARS. From what I can tell it really has kept a lot of people going because even if it's not canon if well written it's 'new content'. Community is VERY important and I feel like there's a large community of writers who really kept people into it, and it's much easier now with Tumblr etc. Edit: If you've WRITTEN Fanfiction and have some extra insight on the Fanfiction community in general for KH I'd love to hear your experiences, what you write etc
Hey guys! This was joked around a bit on the Podcast but after working on the idea for a while now I feel like I'm finally able to put out the first 'episode' of Calxiyn Investigates. KHV is a big part of the fact it's finally getting done and I'm super excited to share this with you all. As the title suggests it is a theory about who Aqua will encounter in the Realm of Darkness. Comment on the content in the video itself as well as telling me how these videos can be improved! At the end of the day this is really for you guys so I want to know what you think of not just the theory but also things like audio quality etc, especially since this is the 'plot' in the way. In a recent interview with Famitsu, Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the Kingdom Hearts series gives us a math lesson and explains "2.8" in the Kingdom Hearts HD Final Chapter Prolouge. I was going to make a post about in the 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Featured in Famitsu' thread but it got too long. (Please read the article first lol) I want to theorize about this first: During her stay in the Realm of Darkness, she comes across "unknown memories" and an encounter. So we already know Aqua has encountered Ansem in the Realm of Darkness. I wondered if maybe that is the encounter that is being talked about. I'm thinking that it might be something that's extended, for reasons I'll go over in a minute. As for the Memories, I'm thinking they are memories or either Xion, Terra or the Grand Master (In Chi) along with his 5 pupils. Xion first; Xion was connected to Ventus, since Xigbar looked at Xion and saw her. People with strong hearts who make great sacrifices for their friends tend to end up in the Realm of Darkness (Riku and Sora, Ansem, Aqua etc). Now, you could argue that Sora didn't end up there when he turned into a Heartless for Kairi, but he was on his way (at least that's how it was looking). There are also causes like Roxas and Axel who didn't, but I think that's for different reasons. Roxas didn't sacrifice anything willingly, and I think that when he did he just ended up in Sora's Heart. People with no place go to the Realm of Darkness. Xion was one of those people for a while, who was a special case compared to Roxas. Axel for all we know could have ended up there as well, and maybe that's who she encounters but I'll get to that. I feel like the memory of Xion, even though they 'died' along with Xion, would be best kept in The Realm of Darkness. The connected that Aqua has with Ventus, and that Xion has with Ventus might bring Aqua into contact with those memories. Also it has been known to be argued that even though Namine told DiZ it was Sora's memories of Kairi impacting Xion's appearance and her memories, it could also be Ventus' memory of Aqua. The reason that it might not be directly Ventus' is because Ven has all of his memories in him where as Sora didn't, but since he's sharing a heart with Sora, he can 'see' if you will, that little bit of Aqua seeing Sora and that being fond memory, possibly the only one he can still see since Ventus is technically sleeping etc. Since Namine didn't know about Aqua, that it's very possible that she overlooked Ventus' heart contributing to Xion's appearance. IMO Xion looks a lot more like Aqua then Kairi, but that's just my own personal thoughts about it. Terra is kind of the same deal with Xion, if Terra's memories 'died' that's where they would be, and Terra's Lingering Will needs those memories. It would make sense for Aqua to find them. Now I bring up the 5 Fortellers and the Grand Master for a similar reason. If Twilight Town is not in fact Daybreak Town, and my whole theory about the memory pod thing (which I think I mentioned on the Podcast and in another thread) is wrong, then either Daybreak Town is a sleeping world, if not the residents of Daybreak town would be stuck in the Realm of Darkness (That could also be the encounter). Those 6 have strong hearts like Aqua and Ansem, and so they didn't die but just wandered. Now if the Memory Pod thing is correct, then it could just be the memories from Daybreak down that Aqua saw. She did see the memories of her adventures, and those worlds were cast into darkness later on (And when she saw them she had been wandering for a while) I haven't played Chi so I don't know how sound my reasoning is based on that. Now that I talked about everyone's memories, I feel like the question is 'why' Would Aqua be coming in contact with these memories by accident, or on purpose? I'm thinking it's more on purpose, and here's why. If Aqua had met Ansem and talked to him longer then we saw on screen, Ansem said something very interesting to Riku in 3D. Ansem suggests that perhaps Sora has the power to recreate people that had been thought to be lost forever, and to mend connections that had been broken; this is due to the uncorrupted and caring nature of Sora's heart. For this to be achieved, Ansem states that Sora needs only to follow where his heart leads him, and the rest of the information needed is in the data. A couple of people do know this, but I don't think Mickey did when he was in the Realm of Darkness, so he didn't tell Aqua to go find those memories. We do know because of 3D that Riku is confronted by Roxas, Ventus and Xion, even more of a reason that they're all connected enough for Aqua to see Xion's memories. Not only are they in Sora's Heart, but Ansem is in there too. Maybe the rest of the conversation with Ansem is telling Aqua this? If Aqua is looking for those memories in order for Sora to bring those people back, it would make sense that Mickey just kind of... left her there. Mickey says that he knows where she is, but is it possible that Mickey is the encounter (Mickey might have been looking for her) but she was looking for what Ansem told her too, which could be the memories of any of the people I already stated. Xion, the Fortellers, and Terra are all people we think are lost forever, to some extent. We just don't know how to get Terra back, but it's evident in 2 that he needs his memories, the only ones he has are the ones of rage and hate and of Xehanort. What I'm saying is, that maybe Aqua's quest through the game is to find those memories that Ansem told her too. That also means Ansem isn't the encounter they are talking about, since he's at the beginning and I'm guessing she is seeing whoever at the end. Now, if Aqua is busy in the Realm of Darkness looking for Terra, then she can't go and wake Ventus up just yet. What some theories are suggesting and what I personally think is that Aqua tossed her Keyblade into the water hoping Sora would find it, similar to how Kairi did with her letter to Sora. Giving Sora her Keyblade, the one he was holding in the KH3 trailer would give him the power to wake Ventus up, someone else who is considered 'Lost forever', someone only he can wake up. When Aqua is done her thing, maybe she'll regroup. If they haven't collected Aqua already I think that would be the reason why. Now for the encounter it could be the Fortellers themselves, like I mentioned, or something or rather someone I briefly mentioned, which would be Axel. Why would Axel be in the Realm of Darkness? Well he did make a sacrifice to save Sora, and I already talked about how people who sacrifice themselves end up in the Dark Realm. Now, I don't really have any evidence to back this up, but may it be possible that Aqua did the Keyblade Ceremony on Axel? She didn't do it on Kairi, at least intentionally, and it never does say how many people you can hand a Keyblade down to. If Kairi didn't count and she still had her 'free-Keyblade giving' left, maybe she gave it to Axel. That would explain why Axel has a Keyblade now. I don't think Axel traveled to Yen Sid, I think Yen Sid called upon Axel, for that reason. Because Yen Sid saw something that tipped the balance, which would be him meeting Aqua. Now why didn't Aqua go with Axel? I don't think she would have been able to. Axel probably just kind of disappeared and showed up on the floor like we saw in 3D, I don't think he could have taken Aqua even if he wanted too. Now, these theories are all sort of surrounding the idea that Ansem the Wise sent Aqua to look for the memories. If she stumbled upon them I could see things being a little bit different, but the idea is still the same. I want to hear what you guys think about the story line in 0.2, whether it's backed up with some evidence or just what poured out of your creativity.

When making characters to Roleplay I notice that we put specific characters in depending on the plot. But I'd like to try a different kind of direction.
