I have the same thing happen to me. It's not Firefox, it's Flash. I also have an issue where Flash freezes my browser on occasion. You could try re-installing Flash.
Regardless of the browser, I think it should be similar?
If Firefox - Tools, Options, Privacy. Check the box that says "save my browser history" or something similar
If you delete system32 you will ruin your PC... So don't. These guys are *******s for telling you to do it. Check your internet options and see if it deletes your history at shutdown.
