Cool, ok let see. Well unmarried couples, however great they are together, are still unmarried for a reason, which most of the time(not all of the time) is because they don't want to commit to each other forever. If a married woman was in a car wreck and became a paraplegic then the husband, having committed himself, would stay with her(if they married for the rights reasons) as opposed to an unmarried couple where the boyfriend would probably just dump her. Or the couple is not ready for marriage yet, in which case then they are most likely not ready for sex either. I mean if two people are perfect for each other in every way and have been together for a while, there is no logical reason not to get married. None that I see anyway. Hope this helps, the subject is vague as we cannot ask God himself.(but that would make everything SOOOOO much easier if we could) As far as the pleasurable for everyone sex thing, that is what God values most: Free Will. The power to defy him or draw him close because he wanted us to love him not just obey him.

Did that help at all?even just a weeeeee bit?

Hey Styx, ok let me get this straight: Your question is why does God's rule say that you can only have sex when you are married as opposed to a responsible couple who isn't? If I'm wrong please correct me because I want to do my best to explain whatever I can.

    Prove it.

    ...someones angry....

But ok for the sake of your happiness in this thread I won't call it a debate. Sorry, I didn't think it would bother you. :china:

As for your question I'm probably not smart enough to prove it but I would urge you that, if you really wanna know, then read The Case for Christ and then The Case For Faith. The author actually had the same believe that you do, that god wasn't real. At the end of the book..well just read it.

Aaaah...I would have approached that differently. Beating people over the head with the bible is like chasing them with a straight jacket yelling "try it, its fun". The church has been responsible for more people leaving Christianity than anything else combined. Now I have super temper problems too but please remember: Debating and arguing are two waaay different things. Not to scold you, just a suggestion. :noworries::china:

I completely agree that we should try to become a more intelligent society but believing in God doesn't mean that you have to throw away all reason, or any reason for that matter. Also about the whole "stories now proved false" thing, have you ever heard of the Hittite civilization? For years people used this society as a reason to disprove the bible. The Old Testament made numerous references to the Hittite civilization but there was no archaeological evidence to verify that this was true. However in 1876 an archaeologist, Hugo Winckler, visited a city in Turkey named Boghaz-Köy. Upon excavating portions of the city, he found a breathtaking number of human artifacts—including five temples, many sculptures, and a fortified castle. But more important, he found a huge storeroom filled with over 10,000 clay tablets. After completing the difficult task of deciphering the tablets, it was announced to the world that the Hittites had been found. Now I would kindly and respectfully ask you to show me one of these "stories".

    [[I'll start]]

Arianna gazed out over the kingdom. The land was beautiful, no doubt. In the distance she could make out the waterfall and river that ended their kingdom's borders. Standing, she winced as her knees popped. The cliff edge was about three feet away from her. With a running leap, she flung herself off. Arianna allowed herself to fall for a few seconds before closing her eyes and sliding into the hawk form that was so familiar to her. Silently she glided over the people in the market and the streets around. Whoever saw her waved and bowed, they could tell her from the other hawks for her black body, slowly fading into gray at the tips of her wings. She swooped low and did a loop to acknowledge them.

Alexandre didn't panic when the princess threw herself off the cliff, he just calmly let himself fall after her, breaking his fall occasionally by grabbing a ledge. He After he made it to the bottom he sped through the woods. Once he broke through the trees he quickly found the small smudge in the sky that was Weir and followed. Once they reached town, he made a quick jump to the rooftops to avoid the crowds and made sure to keep the hawk shadow no less that two feet in front of him as he ran the rooftops, leaping to clear the gaps. He wouldn't let her out of his sight. What happened to her family wouldn't happen to her if he was still alive. Glancing up, he couldn't help grinning as she did a loop. That was Meir, always a show off.

Whoa, wha whoa. Hang on now. Alright first: No one created God. He was just there. Because we live and die we cannot understand that concept, it is too large fr us. Its like saying "Well, I know what its like to go base jumping" when you clearly have never gone and base jumped before(sorry, couldn't think of a better analogy because I don't understand it myself!)

I agree with you that Jesus did exist, he was very intelligent, and he used his intelligence to help other people. However I disagree: I truly believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God, and not just that, he was God. Just think of it as God shape shifting and coming to earth, but at the same time staying in heaven, like he split himself up into three pieces. One, to stay in heaven, two to come and preach the good news, and three to come and live in your heart.

I disagree with that, though you may have already guessed it. I have committed many of those sins but I believe that I will still go to heaven because I asked for forgiveness. When it comes to forgivness, God is like a small child. Once you say you're sorry, they forget completely about it and go on being happy with you. (again, terrible analogy but I was trying to get one that everyone would understand and relate to) Ok now I think even you know that last one was an exaggeration. You can have children, God loves children! But for heaven's sake! Have them when you are married!! God meant for that to be strictly between a husband and a wife so they could become one and raise children. God encourages the married couples to do it because it brings them closer. You don't have to ignore your hormones(though I find it much less troublesome to just ignore them) but at the same time don't just have sex with a boyfriend/girlfriend/ random stranger. If you do slip up then you just ask for God's forgiveness and he will. God has a plan for everyone. Naturally he would want us to have plan A(stay a virgin until you get married, stay married, don't do drugs etc.) but there are other plans that will get us at more or less the same place, you just have more pain and anger when you get there.

That one made me laugh actually but no, its ok to imagine a guy with his shirt off, I'm sure guys do along the same lines. That is just hormones, its perfectly natural and ok. Not saying you should do it but if you do its not that bad.

    Prove it.

I totally agree. Frankly, I love to debate but when people get like that it just makes me wanna quit. I believe that debating is a logical and calm way to reason your side out the the other person, who in turn does the same. It's not a shouting match. Then it would be called an argument.

    But I digress.

Anyway, I believe that God created everything and someday he will come back for us. I would love to debate my beliefs with someone else who wants to. (But look, if we want to speak of someone being ignorant then at least don't act that way yourself.)

So who is up for a good debate? :bounce:

    I've got one now!

2 sisters, a blonde n a brunette buy a ranch. they have $1000 saved up to buy a bull. the brunette goes off to find the biggest, best bull that she can. she finds one, and it is only $999! she buys it immediately and is very excited. the blonde is at home waiting, and so the brunette is going to send her a telegraph to have her come and pick up the bull. but when she goes into the telegraph office, she realizes that she only has enough money to buy one word, because telegraphs are .99 cents a word. after a while, she realizes the one word that she is going to send to her sister. What is the word? Why?

Hint: it isnt "bull" and the words can't be all ran together like this "comegetthebullnow!"

    Start guessing!
