Shaking himself slightly as he came back to reality from his thoughts, Faust looked up from his shadow as he saw people already filter into the assembly hall for the summit. He could only really scratch his head as the people who he had been hoping to catch might have already passed him by into the hall. Stretching out his back as he stood up his shade differing as it cracked it’s neck as Faust muttered “well might as well just see what passes for a government here and just catch them after the meeting ends.” Faust passed for a second after taking a step as a thought came to him if he just waited trouble would naturally come and find them keyblade wielders like him and the others were just magnets for the stuff. With his new plan to just wait and see where the smoke would rise to find them he picked out a random seat in the public space of the hall and settled in. 20/30
Faust found himself reclining on an edge of an fountain with a clear line of sight to the front entrance to the building that he believed the summit would be held in. Well with his luck the old man he had asked for directions from could have been just as confused as him. His luck had held out pretty well so far today so he would just have to chance it. As he sat there and waited for the summit to draw close he drew a sidelong glance at his shadow muttering as he flipped his favored coin “Well you think a high tech city like this would be interesting huh?” as if in response his shade tapped the coin’s shadow causing it to tilt off it’s intended path slightly. His shadow seemed to enjoy messing with Faust quite a bit as it’ silhouette seemed to be laughing even as he sat still as he reclined. The magic that doctor had enacted on his shadow to grant it some semblance of life was quite something. 19/30
As he saw that the others were going their separate ways to try and get information around to the Members not in jail currently. Faust could only stretch slightly as he began to think of what to do next. AJ had asked him to Find Beuce or Luna to spread to fond info about Karina but there wasn’t much he had to find them. The only info about where Beuce could be was the summit and he quite frankly remembered Luna even less than he did Karina so looking for her seemed like quite the lost cause. The summit seemed to be quite like the place to find Beuce even if it didn’t start yet he could always find a place to wait and watch the door to try and find Beuce then. With his path decided to set off to try and find where the summit was being held. 18/30
Looking over Faust saw AJ tried to convince Aislinn to help out in quite the strange manner in Faust's opinion but who was he to judge it could of just been differences in their cultures from their respective home worlds. Seeing that Aislinn was having to watch over and AJ wasn't really leaving a great first impression Faust felt he had to do something about it. lowering himself to a crouch so that he gave a carefree smile as he held up the dented metal dice between two fingers before pulling some slight of hand to make it seem as if dice had turned into a single coin then as if the coin multiplied each doppelganger resting between his finger before switching it to a metal rose. it wasn't the most elaborate trick or fancy set of trick for him to do but it was some of the little he could do with out magic. he a least hope ti at least soft end the slightly off setting vibe AJ might of been putting off. he turned to others as he asked " pretty good show huh. As he made his way to the meeting place Faust had found himself fiddling with the dice that had been catch in the door back in the infirmary. He would probably have to get a replacement for it one day as the door had dented the metal surface with the force of the door closing but if that was what Lady Luck wanted for a break in the case it wasn’t to bad of a price. He was pleasantly surprised to see that Aislinn had beaten him to the others. Give it a slight wave to those their as he began to report what he had found “well I found out something pretty big about Karina’s position. Some guy that ran into me at the infirmary was talking about a Karina was being held at the lowest level of the cells. So form you told me about her and what I remember I think that’s our best bet.” 16/30
The trip on the way the infirmary wasn’t too eventful. All it took was a few questions to a few passersby with the excuse of some of his old wounds aching up a bit with a gesture to the bandages that covered his wrist and arms to get some accurate directions to the place. As he was going to walk up to the front counter to ask about where that ventus kid was to hopefully find someone from SOS to ask about Karina a man roughly pushed past him. The man briskly walking into an open private examination room. Some of Faust's items that he had hidden in his sleeves for his tricks scattering across the floor. One of the dice coming to a stop in the doorway of the room as the door was sliding shut halting the door from closing fully. As Faust started to pick up the scattered trinkets he started to overhear a snippet of what the man inside was saying “we’ll see how that Karina girl is after a few days in the deepest cell we have..“ Faust paused for a second before the door slid back slightly before sliding forward again knocking the dice blocking the door into Faust's waiting hand. Faust stored the dice back into his sleeve as he muttered to himself “well that was interesting. Guess that narrows down where to look.” the guy was wounded in the neck when he had passed him so that could mean this was the same Karina that he was looking for. At the very least it seemed like something to report to the others so He set out back to the cell block. 15/30
“Oh I don’t mind.” Faust replied as he started to walk off looking over his shoulder as he added “ If i’m not in the infirmary by the time you make it their check the cell blocks at least most of the others should be there” this search isn't going the best but the scale of this ship the SOS had found themselves on seemed to be off a much larger scale than he had first imagined. He doubted that their would be much that he could find. it might be quite the good idea if he deiced to touch base with some of the other members of the SOS maybe they would have a better idea about how to find her. the only real idea he had if she or a victim of hers wasn't in the infirmary would be to check the highest spot he could find and see if he spot her out of a crowd. As a added benefit maybe if he kept himself moving he wouldn't dwell on his past to much. 14/30
Faust started to think about where everyone was that he know of in the SOS that wasn't missing fro a second before answering "Well Buece and a few others are at the summit thing i guess. then Aux, Kaida, and few others are facing treason and Kel is think is in the infirmary looking over a comatose kid. At least a think thats where the known members are." Faust shrugged before continuing "I'm probably going to head towards the infirmary there isn't much i think i could find about her here. maybe something else would have something that i could use to help find her." 13/30
Looking over the woman who had left the tavern before him he flashed his carefree smile as he answered “Oh Yeah I only really joined not too long ago. I’m Faust by the way” thinking a second on the names that she had rattled off Faust paused putting his hand on his chin. Most of those names sounded familiar to him as he continued “yeah I think most those guys are in our group. And I don’t mind answering a few questions for a potential new friend. Though I was asked to look for carbine, you know the mean one of our group, have you seen her by the way?” 12/30
The Barkeep just sighed before setting his glass and rag onto the bar top be tiredly saying “Look Kidd I’m gonna level with you, not going to tell you how to live your life but don’t go implying you're gonna break the law to strangers” “Oh usually I don't. it's just...” Faust paused for a second trying for a second to think of a way to put it into words before continuing “I guess it’s just a habit for me to trust a barkeep you know? It’s as my master always said ‘If you're not gonna trust the guy who pours your drinks then who can you? And you just seem to have this trustworthy aura around you.” Pinching the bridge of his nose “Look I’ll keep an eye out, brat. I’ll send you a smoke signal or something just finish your drink and leave” “Oh really thanks I could just tell coming to your tavern was a good idea from the second i saw you” Faust answered back in a chipper tone before knocking back the bottom half of his glass before heading out to leave the tavern stopping just short of leaving half way out of the taproom and turning back the to barkeep And calling out loudly “Oh I’m Faust the traveling mage, member of the SOS So you know who to address the smoke signal to!” 11/30
As Faust came back from his trip down memory lane he shook his head slightly as he turned his gaze back to barkeep. He paused for a second to try and remember the description that Beuce had given him back in the cells. “Hey I’m looking for someone, seen a girl about ye high, dark hair and always looks like she is mad at existence itself?” Faust asked in his usual smile. The barkeep eyed him for a second before returning back to polishing the same glass he had been when Faust had arrived. With a gruff reply he answered “Your the first new face today. If you really want to find her go ask some guard, brat” Taking a another sip of whiskey Faust shot back “Look i’m needing to find her with minimum governmental help if you're catching on.” 10/30
Faust felt himself slip back into old memories of when his life had changed for the better or worst he hadn’t really cared. It was the first time he had run into his drunken master Khan and the gamble that had set him down this road. It was an cold night when he had ran into the keyblade master He had ducked into his usual tavern to get out of the cold and see if he couldn’t win himself a warm meal for the day form an unlucky drunk or two when he stopped what Faust could only call an interesting gamble instead one not for some chump change but one that could easily cost him an arm or two if lady lucky was fickle with him. An old disveled man with a ragged unkempt mop of gray hair and untrimmed beard sat at one of the tables in the back that were kept for games of chance clearly deeply down on his luck from the murmuring of the other regular patrons of the dive he was trying to pay off quite the large tab he had amassed and in the games before Faust had arrived the man had achieved the opposite result. “Look here ya fool! Give me another go, double or nothing and i’ll wipe that smirk off your face!” the old drunk exclaimed slamming his current mug into the table clearly the man had been racking up his tab even as he had been trying to pay it off. Faust glanced down at his wallet he hadn't a lot to his name right now ,but he never really did. He could already feel the itch to get in on this bet of the old man just he thought of what this stranger must have had on him winning this bet for him his dress was strange so he must have been from some far off place. Thus something new worth seeing. Walking up to the worn table Faust placed an gold and silver inlaid coin on to the table top reassuring the other party at the table with a smile saying “I’ll cover the debt for the next round if he loses, so why don’t you play again lik he axed?” The drunkard turned surprise to his unexpected help with a drunken bite in his voice “and what’d you get out of this brat?” Flashing a smile back to the man “All you have to do if I win for you is show me something I've never seen before that sounds fair right, Old geezer?” “Well at least you have heart brat. If that’s all you want then it’s fine with me brat if you think you can turn this around then try. But don’t come crying to me if you can’t cut it.” was the last words of the drunk before Faust pulled up a seat at the table. Slowly at first the coins started to change form the other side of the table as Faust steadily raised the drunk out of his debt. Looking over the small pile of coins that the old man had now been left with when all was said and done had lit his face up as he turned to Faust with a slight smile as he downed another tankard before saying “well well didn’t think you would have resolved this peacefully as you did. You must have the devil's luck kid. Names Khan you earn that extra with the next few rounds that you bought me” “Faust, you could say lady luck has always favored me” Faust replied back in kind before leaning forward as he pressed “now about your end of the bet?” “Yeah yeah, brat I’m getting to that '' Khan scoffed as he waved for another drink “what have ya heard of something called a Keybalde, huh?” 9/30
The tavern stirred up old memories for Faust it looked nothing like the ones back in home world that he had grown up around in the chained isles but the smell of hard liquor taking him back to a place that he never liked dwelling on, the past. As he took a slow practiced sip from his glass he could have sworn that he could see an old haggard, dirty, booze ridden form seating beside him at the empty seat to his right. The phantom image faded as he focused his gaze in that direction. Faust could only mutter under his breath as he took another drag of whiskey “Even after all these years I still think you're going to stumble into any tavern that I find myself in. Guess some chains I can't break no matter what I try huh, old man” 8/30
The first stop on His search for this missing member of the group was to find a tavern or something like it. All towns had to have a place for the common folk to wind and gossip, and such a place was usually a great place to put your ear to the ground when you wanted to find something or someone in his experience. Plus if he could find one in a more lower end area you tended to find those discontent with the current status quo. From what little he remembered about this Karina was the discontent could fit her to a tee. A few questions here and there was all that he needed to find the kind of place he was looking for, it wasn’t like any of the taverns like what he was use to but it was close enough to what he was looking for so Faust sauntered up to an empty seat at the bar. When he took a seat on a stool a grizzled old man behind the counter asked “what ya want kid?” as he continued to clean a glass. “Whatever you would recommend” Faust replied back, setting a few munny on the bar top between them “I trust this works in this world as well”. It only took a few seconds before the barkeep nodded, setting a glass of some kind of whiskey on the counter taking the munny in its place. Faust took a quick glance around the tavern seeing that its mostly empty. Only a few other patrons hanging around the back. 7/30
As Faust watched as the usual chaos of the SOS unfolded around him.It was kind of interesting in a unusual way for Faust to see. Strange in that it felt as if he could enjoy watching for days as if it was an ever changing sight, not something that he had felt that often about anything usually he would get bored of a new sight or place in the span of a few days. Looking over at Luna in response to her comment he replied as he began walking out of the cell block “Well I was the only member offered bale so that might be a tad more expensive For the rest as i have fond Terrorism tends to be quite the higher crime than gambling.” He turned to Quill and the rest next just as he was going to walk out of sight of the cells “Oh if you guys make it out okay I’ll have to share a round on me if you want. Aux, don't know if this will help but if the collars shocking you is anything like being struck like lightning just going limp helps a lot.” 6/30
Looking like group splitting orders were being given out Faust gave a light salute to Beuce "all right you can count on me friend!" Faust couldn't help but fidget with bandages around his neck as the metal collar that had been on his neck had displaced the revealing slightly the jagged scar wrapping around his neck and it took a couple of seconds to fix the bandages properly back into place "I only have one question thou. then I'll be on my way to find her " Faust continued not really remembering the what the target he was suppose to find looked like to well. he was pretty sure he had only seen her once or twice in passing before. it seem like it was important job but Faust didn't want top worry them further especially with this rigged trial already looming over the other in the cells. there was only one thing left to do in that case Faust put on the most carefree smile he could as he started his ingenuous plan he had in place encase a situation in like this arose as he continued with his question "Bar..no, Car.., Karina is the mean always scowling girl right? and what did she look like again. Because of course i remember her I was just asking you know to make sure everyone is on the same page encase any of you guys happen to run into her first. you know just to be sure we are all on the same page." 5/30
Seeing quite a few was a helpful distraction from his thoughts, things were drifting into parts of his mind that he usually didn't like to dwell on. those thoughts could be pushed aside for now, standing up to properly greet the others Faust arched his back till it gave a satisfying pop then leaned forward resting his arms on the bars in front of his cell. His collar buzzing once again as if to signal it was doing something but Faust couldn't figure if it was because it was only a warning or if his had malfunctioned. the only thing the collars seemed to do for the others is shock them but he wasn't feeling anything like that so the shocks must of been pretty low. "Well it's good to hear that that i'm getting off free. Guess I don't need to pay that bale then huh" Faust replied "Still your probably right that the trial is rigged and from my travels sometimes the people in charge don't like to be proven wrong that's why i typically don't preform at state shindigs anymore. So whats the plan going to be a creative case to wow the trial or you going to leave room for a quick plan b if the wining the trial doesn't work?" 4/30
"Oh this isn't that bad of a place top impounded in any way. it's clean tidy and best of all we don't have to share the cell with any rats!" Faust replied back to Quill throwing his arms out with his smile on his face. it was kind of nice the sincerity of Quill statement in his voice. Though their was some dark thoughts and doubts that Faust couldn't keep out from his mind. lately Faust had not had as much interest in the new sights that he had seen in the different worlds and sights he had seen almost as if he was viewing them through a glass that was getting dirtier and harder to see through as time past by. His small conversions seeming to spark more of an interest within him than the toury of the dead he had participated in. Sure the prize was nothing to scoff at but he hadn't felt the same wonder and delight he always had in learning more about magic or a new trick. this whole situation just knocked loose an old memory form his master khan and old saying of his. that old drunkard really couldn't have spouted anything worth whiled than granting him his keyblade could he? All Faust knew now was that he needed to think and he could never really think sitting still so there was one thing he could do. turning to the ceiling he called out "Hey this Bale thing how much we talking about? Like this has been a fun stay but i'm just curious?"
Looking over at Quill after thinking a few moments on how to best respond to his question about his home-world Faust leaned back looking up at the ceiling of his cell their wasn't much special about his home world, but from the different worlds he had been in his travels he could guess the natives of them probably had the same thoughts of their own worlds. It wouldn't be fair not to tell them after they told him about his "Hmm, I wouldn't say i enjoyed but.." Faust paused for a second to think on how to word his thoughts "It's more like most people on those crumbling floating rocks above the clouds that we had called home Didn't like thinking of how they were crumbling just doing the same things day after day. and that didn't sit to well with me so when i had meet that old drunkard of a master of mine in dire straights with a tavern. I had offered a bet to help him out, got keyblade and had been traveling for more interesting sites." Faust pause for second before deciding on a how to Finish his tale of his home world "You see I guess you can say I've been always captivated by new interesting things." Faust Laughing at his out pun as he looked out across the cellblock. 3/30
Hearing their Crimes being read off was quite a surprise for Faust. There seemed to be quite the amount of terrorism from the other members of the SOS group, a lot more than Faust would of thought with how much they talked about saving people. still it could just be how who ever caught them saw their actions so taking it with a grain of salt would be best. the thing that caught him the most off guard is the fact that HE couldn't place where they got embezzlement form for one of his crimes as far as he could remember. thou he never did pay tax in his twenty years living in the chained isles, but that didn't matter here right this place was way to far advanced for it to be home-world. So why did they care? Looking over across the cell block giving the others a carefree smile as he joked "So I'm going to go out on a lem, and guess you guys had quite the explosive time before i joined up huh?" chuckling for a second at his own joke before continuing " though, since this is the first real time I've had with any of you without the world crumbling around us. I have to ask what's you guys home-worlds like? You know since we're on the subject of our pasts?"
