That's true I suppose. Thanks everyone for the replies! I'm still a bit torn between the BC-Fat Ps3 or a Slim Ps3. Is one considerably louder than the other? And is there anyway to prevent the YLOD from ruining my console once I've bought one?
Okay, I'll take a look at that link Misty, thank you! And so I'm clear with this, I wouldn't be able to play KH2:FM on any of the American PS3s at all, would I? (Or the translated version either, since that's getting into burned/backup territory).
Hmmm... This IS a tough choice... If there really is no other way, I guess it would be better for the stock to be able to be read, since after you pick up something, you can at least review it as long as you want in the menu.. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_BCRWkclDn2Y2J1SzFsUk9iNDQ#list
There will be a sort of patch; I'm not sure if it will be something you can just apply at once like a traditional patch, but there will be a way to have the text translated, so don't worry about that. As for the how, you'd need to get Crazycat's tools, download the modded files, and then make a new ISO using those modded files. It's not terribly hard to understand, but I'll let someone more experienced explain it properly so I don't get anyone confused.
There isn't really a PPF patch available. There are a lot of files that can be injected into the game, though.
I know, but I'm the type of person who likes having the option available. It is a bit silly I admit.
I know I'm a bit late getting into the PS3 market, what with the PS4 right around the corner, but I've only recently been able to breathe a little bit and have some extra cash floating around. After some basic research, I've found that there are 3 models, the Fat (which has the fabled ability to play PS2 games [although I doubt I'll ever get rid of my PS2]), the Slim (which I think is a bit faster and more quiet, in exchange for no more PS2 games) and the Super Slim (silent as the grave and apparently cheap feeling?) What's everyone's experiences with the PS3 consoles and what do you think would be the best value?
I don't hate Coded. Gameplay wise, it's fun and I wish this was how Days was controlled. The command deck really works well on such limited hardware. Story-wise, though, it's just not really that important.
I hope that it gets PS2 compatible, too.
I will admit; it does have a plot, it just doesn't effect the overall story very much. As I've said before, most of the relevant stuff can be summed up pretty quickly.
I think that DiZ/Ansem the Wise is a pretty good character. Solid backstory, motivation that you can relate to, eventually realizes that his ghost-chase was wrong if it meant hurting innocent people, and he seemed very remorseful for his mistakes.
We need more texture/general mods, lol. Hey, Disgustor, if you could add something I just got doing to the first page I'd appreciate it. I took the character audio from the original Japanese release of Kingdom Hearts and put it over the Final Mix audio; combat and cutscenes work well. The only problems are that it doesn't cover every line in the game; Leon's speech about Riku's Keyblade will still be in English, as will Sora's/Goofy's "conversation" with Xemnas. I know it's kind of backwards to port the Japanese audio when we're trying to make the text English, but some people like the novelty and having the option around is nice. http://www.mediafire.com/?uv8954bi131d9f9 For anyone curious, the files that aren't changed are as follows: pc_371.vset pc_381.vset tw_071.vset
The point he was making was maybe it's possible to hack the camera to support vertical movement, then code it to the right analog stick, in a similar way to RE:CoM and KH2. I don't think it's the kind of thing you can "port" in a traditional sense. A more accurate term would be "emulate". It MIGHT be possible, I don't know. The game rotates the camera on a fixed axis (the X axis), but maybe getting it to support Y-axis rotations is possible....
They wouldn't need to go back there anyway. Tarzan's story is done. Personally, I'm up for anything as long as Wonderland and Agrabah are never seen again. I'll tolerate Agrabah (as it still has some content that could be used) if it means that Wonderland is put down for good. As for what I'd like to see again, I liked Disney Town/Castle, the Colosseum (as much as I hate it's music now, it's still a fun setting), and I'd really like to go back to a Lilo and Stitch world. I know the timeline would be a bit weird (It took Stitch HOW LONG to fly to Earth?!) but since Donald and Goofy didn't seem to age between BBS and KH1 I don't see why we can't go visit Lilo and Nani. No. I'm just sick of it. Going through so many times, the plot is pretty much always the same; and I'm tired of hearing the music of that world. The story for it isn't "done" exactly but it's story doesn't translate well into the game.
Worst character to control in the entire series is clearly that dog that was in the bag in KH2. Too restrictive.
To each their own I suppose.
I wish it was easier to understand the mysterious ways of Japanese companies. I know that, at Valve at least, people can sort of drift between projects as long as they're working. Maybe Square could patch the fishfaces away one day.
Can't wait to see them. I'm going to take a stab at giving Riku Vanitas' bodysuit, now that you mention him. (sideline: I wish we saw more of Vanitas. I like him.) All of this would be perfectly valid except for the fact that they had a team of people remaking Days(' cutscenes) from the ground up who could've fixed up the scenes in KH1 that had fishfaces. If what you say is true, it wouldn't have been very time consuming to fix up those horrible flat faces and not delay the game 5 billion years.
You're worrying for nothing. If Square left Billy Zane's quotes alone, then they more than likely won't replace these two, either.
When I tuned into the stream it looked like Gmod was being played.
