It had been a while since someone had even touched Tabris without the intention of killing him. It felt good to know that there was someone out there who didn't have the intention of hunting him down and killing him.

"Me neither," Tabris said. It's nice to ba able to hunt the hunters, instead of the situation being vice versa."

Tabris continued walking with Selene into a long, dark alleyway, knowing the hunter would come soon.

Mr. Wheeler brought himself to a quick stop.

"Wow. Nice one." Mr. Wheeler was referring to the scar on Saule's chest.
Mr. Wheeler threw Saule's shirt at his feet. Mr. Wheeler only had to snap his fingers and his car had already stopped right next to him in the street. IT was like someone else was driving it.

"Get in." Mr. Wheeler proceeded to do so himself.

    "Works for me. Let's go."

Tabris walked towards the door. Just before he walked out, he looked back. The hunter had gotten up, and seemed to be slowly and cautiously moving towards them.

    "He's following us."

"Let's go back outside, then. Unless he's a complete fool or a maniac, he won't try to kill us while there are all these people around."

ANY song by Kelly Clarkson makes me want to beat something or someone with a large blunt object (preferrably a club of some sort).

Lindsay Lohan and Hillary Duff fall into the same category.

Mr. Wheeler steped out of the elevator and saw Saule talking to the concierge- just as Nikki had predicted.

Mr. Wheeler had to think quickly about how to resolve the situation without killing anyone. Finally, the idea occurred to him. Mr. Wheeler walked up to saule and started talking to him.

"Hey there, Saule. You're just the person i needed to see. We need to talk." And with that, Mr. Wheeler dragged saule out of the building.

"I'm not sure that's necissarily true. If media wanted to kill me, she wouldn't have just sent Saule- who doesn't necessarily trust media either- last night.

Also, Media needs me to help set up for the meeting, which is why i have to go early."

Mr. Wheeler looked Nikki in the eye and smiled at her one last time. "Once again, Thanks for everything, Nikki."
And with that, Mr. Wheeler was gone.

Mr. Wheeler's first instinct was to tell nikki that Media had found him. But for some reason, something was telling hm that wasn't a good idea. He just couldn't bring himself to do it.

"Nope. Nothing's wrong. it's just about time for me to go. Thanks for everything, Nikki."

ooc: sorry i haven't posted in a while. i've been away.

"I figured i'd find you out and about," media said in that smooth, silky voice that usually meant that somethinbg bad was going to happen.

    "Why's that?" Mr. Wheeler asked.

"Call it a hunch. Just calling to remind you of the meeting today."

"Yeah, i know. Where's it going to be?"

MEdia told him. Mr. Wheeler sighed. he should have known that was coming.

    "Okay, i'll be there."

"Be there soon. You're helping set up."

Before Mr. Wheeler had a chance to respond, Media simply said, "Ta ta", and the screen went dark.

It was getting late (or early, depending on how you looked at it), and Mr. Wheeler hadn't slept a wink. Not that he needed too, of course. He had watched as Nikki slipped out the door to buy some more orange juice. He looked out over the landscape of los angeles and thought about the meeting tommorrow. He wondered what would happen. Would the new gods reprimand him? would they kill him? or would they just ignore him like they usually did?

Mr. Wheeler was brought out of his reverie by a crackling noise. Mr. Wheeler knew exactly what it was and the hair on the back of his neck stood on end. HE turned arounf just in time to see the static of the television screen fade into a lone woman sitting in a white room. She looked fairly young and attractive, like a newscaster.

"Hello, Mr. Wheeler. How long has it been since we last met?"

Mr. Wheeler did his best to look unfazed.

    "About two years, Media."

Tabris walked back into the noisy, crowded nightclub, wondering if there actually was a vampire hunter in the crowd. He seemed to be in luck. A young man at the bar seemed to be eyeing zaris with that look of suspicion that tabris had grown used to seeing on people's faces.

Tabris gave a bored yawn and stretched with his hands out of his pockets, which revealed the two parts of tabris he wanted the man to see- his fangs and his claws. Tabris looked back at the man, and was glad to see that his look of suspicion had metamorphed into a look of downright malice. No one else had noticed, anyway.

Mr. Wheeler quickly got a hold of himself. After all, media was probably busy at this point anyway.

Mr. Wheelr looked at Nikki. "I don't know. I know one flaw of media's: She's overly arrogant. She definitely has influence, but she underestimates many of the old gods. I'm sure Zaris will be fine."

"That might not be necessary. In fact, probably not. After all, i have these-" Tabris held up his claws- "to hold up a big sign that says 'I'M A VAMPIRE' to anyone who is smart enough to notice. All it takes is for me to take my hand out of my pocket once, and that can be the bait."

Not necessarily. FOr freedom to have any actual meaning, there has to be certain rules in place to keep people and society in control. Eliminating the idea of law will only make the problem worse.

Without killing every single human being on earth, getting rid of crime is theoretically impossible for one reason: PEOPLE ARE IMPERFECT. There are always going to be deviants who do things the "wrong" way. As long as there are people and societies, there will be "crimnals" as well.

"You know, you can never tell with media. Sometimes she has spies, and sometimes she just gathers the information for herself. And she's damn good at it, too."

MR. Wheeler thought about the way media got in contact with people. IT never ceased to bother him.

From the sound of it, Zaris had left. Mr. Wheeler wondered where the hell Zaris would be going at this time of night. Could he be trying to cause even more trouble? Or was he just sick of seeing Mr. Wheeler. In the end, Mr. Wheeler decided he didn't care. It probably wasn't any of his business anyway.
