I think when people say "thank science", they say it as more of a joke. I know some atheists who jokingly exclaim "Thank science!" when they're happy about something.
I want to study writing. If that can't be my major, English will be my major and writing could be a minor. Writing is my passion, so I want to learn as much about it as I can.
Ah, I see. For a second I thought the person was implying King wasn't a good writer, and "even he" considered Twilight to be badly written. Sorry, misunderstanding on my part there. Yeah, the main reason Twilight Sucks was created was because Anti-Twilighters wanted an internet community where they could express their opinions about the series and not be afraid of getting attacked for it. Although we do have trolls visit the site every so often.
No way! Gosh, I wouldn't even consider that for a second.
Oh, one think I dislike about mission mode is that you can hurt the people you're playing with if you get too close to them. I find that incredibly annoying, because then you can't work together to defeat the same Heartless. What fun is that?
What are you implying by that? Stephen King is a fantastic writer. What do you mean when you say "even Stephen King"?
Okay, okay...I don't think there's any reason to be contemptuous about it. His original post was clear enough to me but what got me confused was his second post. Let's all be friendly! :D Sure, the person made the mistake of not wiping the memory, but not everyone is very, erm, computer smart. It could have just been a mistake, a slip of the mind, so I don't think it's fair to peek just because of the person's stupidity. I mean, what would you do if you forgot to wipe your memory (maybe you had a lot on your mind or something and didn't remember) and someone else invaded your privacy?
Well, ever since I was little, I've loved Aurora, or Briar Rose, or Sleeping Beauty (jeez, she's got a lot of names). Now that I'm older and pay more attention to characters and whether they're well-rounded or not...well, I guess I would still count her as my favorite, but only because that's leftover for my childhood and I can't shake my partiality towards her. However, if I were introduced to the princesses at this age, I would probably have chosen Mulan, and if Mulan doesn't count, Belle. I'm apparently most like Belle, according to online quizzes.
Um...yeah, I'm confused as well. If you mean that the computer remembers all their internet passwords, you should definitely wipe the memory, because that's an invasion of privacy and, as Plums said, it could get you into a ton of trouble.
Oh, Harry Potter has its freaks all right, but as far as I know, none of them took it this far. Every fandom has its crazies, but it seems that violence is a recurrent trait in (diehard) Twilight fans. It makes sense, what with the obsessive nature of the book, that the fans would emulate the behaviors of the unrealistic characters.
Aw, Andy all grown up! It's adorable and sad at the same time. I wonder if they'll show his "baby" sister. I really am looking forward to this movie. I have faith in Pixar, but it is a sequel, and that's always dangerous territory.
Axel and Xaldin are really fun to be. I found Demyx and Marluxia's weapons difficult to control. Xion's all right, but using her is exactly like controlling Roxas, so it's not fantastic. My favorite to be is Axel.
I like them so far. I was worried about Xion's voice, since I've heard the actress' voice before and didn't see how it fit the character. However, she did a good job. I can hardly tell it's her. Namine's voice was better in KHII, but it wasn't horrible in this game. She did all right.
Where'd you hear that? I adore Brand New Eyes. My favorite songs from it are Brick by Boring Brick, Careful, Playing God, Where the Lines Overlap...I love all of them. It's hard to choose. :P
I think the proper pronunciation is She-on, which I completely ignore because I started calling her Zye-on and got too used to it.
I don't think you can beat the old one. I don't know what it is about that one that I prefer. Maybe it's just because it's the one I'm used to. Also, I didn't like the whole "dad" plot they added to the new one. Don't get me wrong, though, the new one was still good. I liked Veruca Salt a lot.
Oh, Twilight Sucks! Haha that's the other forum I frequent! Yeah, I'm hoping most of the stories aren't true. Otherwise, I'd better watch my back. So far I've never come across any rabid Twilight fans in real life, thank God. I've come across sane ones, though, which is completely fine with me. If you like Twilight, that's fine, as long as you're not going to assault me or something. As I mentioned earlier in my post, that would be me. And I must defend TS here: it is not just a site meant to bash the Twilight series. Yes, that's a part of it, but it's also a community of writers. We discuss writing, give feedback, help each other out, etc. We also discuss a ton of other topics, like music, television, and other incredibly random stuff. You know, just like on KHV. ;)
Ah, Roald Dahl! He was a fantastic children's writer if there ever was one. He had such a vast imagination. I mean, just look at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Witches. Matilda is also a beloved favorite of mine, but that might just be because I grew up on the movie (I read the book as well). He apparently hated the movie adaptation to The Witches because they changed its ending to make it a happier one. I heard he was outside the theater telling people not to go in.
^Yeah, I think the main reason I'm attending public school instead of homeschooling is because of the social aspect. It's important to mingle with people your own age, and while sometimes it can be dramatic and awful dealing with social situations, that's true for any part of life. If you don't build social skills, you're going to lose out on a lot of relationships and life experience. I think that the teachers hired should be different. There should be a certain criteria, one that my school usually follows, and so far it's worked for me. The teachers should be able to 1) discipline the students (in other words, the students should respect them enough to listen to them; this was the downfall of one of my teachers last year, who was fired) 2) have a connection with the students (ties in with the first one), 3) not only know their subject but be enthusiastic about it (this will better encourage the learner to be enthusiastic about it as well) 4) come up with fun and interesting ways to learn in order to entice the student. This is also a small one: in elementary schools, they need to STOP teaching children in English class that "said is dead". Using the word "said", according to elementary school teachers, is reprehensible and should be replaced with something more descriptive. While this is a semi-good lesson, one who studies how to write narratives later learns that the word "said" is actually the most appropriate thing to use sometimes. In fact, if a writer doesn't use it ever, they are considered a novice.
It'll be out 2010 in the USA or Japan?
