Speaking of people with badges... Rosalie exited the bank just in time to see Nick flash one to the cops. She knew there was a reason as to why she didn't like the guy. This would also explain why he thought it was okay to order the others around so much. How bothersome. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that his plan had just worked so well in there she wouldn't want to see him ever again. She even felt thankful for the guy's plan...however saying so didn't cross her mind. All she really wished to do now was rest.

And since Thallen seemed to be looked out for now she could do that so, after waving and saying bye to the others, she simply headed back to the bar. Once there she expected to tell Jed what happened then go straight up to the apartments, however when she got inside she was surprised by how clean the place looked now. Had he done this while they were gone?

"Wow..." she muttered, walking through the place for a better look.

So this girl was named Keeva. What a wonderful name for such a interesting soul. How nervous she seemed though, but she supposed that would be expected. Even so the girl was able to answer her question wonderfully, so this was pleasing.

"With your father ill and you running the farm in his place must be hard. Many must be saying that as a woman you should let another take charge and yet you do not kneel to their wills." She paused to gauge Keeva's reaction and for a breathe. "This is what caught my attention. Such an admirable quality should be rewarded, or least defended. And a contract with myself would do just that. No deal is fit unless both sides gain something, so crops will be needed for the wedding. Perhaps even to feed our troops. What say you?"

    The queen awaited a reply.

The first thing she did when the cops came in was grab her phone and pocketed it. She thought about getting the others' phones for them but then realized it would be a hassle making sure it got to them. Besides, a cop would handle it. Seemed like it was a part of their job after all. That and questioning everyone, which they were already doing as the robbers were being cuffed and taken away. They even got the one from the vault.

One came to question her but she insisted that he already had her statement and he wandered off rather confused. It seemed foolish not to just comply, but she really disliked anyone with a badge. Not only did they ruin everyone's fun they were often not to be trusted. Something about that power...

Instead of dwelling on it though Rosalie headed outside, ready to go home now but okay with sticking around just for a bit longer to see if the others got away without any problems as well as to see if Thallen's wound was okay. Which it probably was, given how much she was protesting going to the hospital.

"An interesting farmer girl caught my attention..." she said to the king before telling a guard to send the girl in. Once he carried out his order he returned to his post in the most stiff position physically possible. And once the farmer girl was inside the queen would ask her to describe her farm to them.

It seemed that he and Theodore were on the same page, or least a similar one. This is what he thought after checking his phone per usual in his morning routine. Something about a party was mentioned though... What was that about?

To find out he went to the next message, seeing about the meet-up at the labs. A good idea, until the mention of alcohol. That would surely distract those attending if they are foolish enough to drink it... Still, he had to go. A chance like this could not be passed up so easily.

So once he was ready to go he began poking at the bird in hopes that it would awaken as he did not wish to leave it behind so rudely. Still, if it took too long he would end up going on his own.

As Wesley passed he spoke to her. Something about the guards... Had he fought with them before? The agents here did partake in sparring as they were there to train them, but the guards never seemed to join in. Not normally anyway. So did he start a fight? An interesting thought.

But there was no time to ask about it as he kept moving. That was good in regrades to her having to thank him for the advice or something along those lines, as it was not welcomed. She listened to it. But it still wasn't welcomed. There was a downside, as she was left to wonder what he had meant. Either way...

Looking over she noticed Cross at another dummy. Moving over to him she went in for a request.

It was nice seeing Thallen carrying out her order as it was Rosalie's job to pass it along. A sense of pride filled her, and she happily smiled. Though it was short lived as from there things got a bit crazy. Multiple rabbits, a ringing sound, a gunshot, and fighting. This was a bit much.

Her hands shot up to her ears by the time the fire alarm went off and she found a safe spot next to the benches. Or what she thought to be safe at least. But upon seeing Nick struggle with one of the robbers the safe spot was forsaken for surely she could do something to end this faster.

She ran up to the two, falling to her knees once close enough. The mask was pulled off and thrown aside. Now she had a perfect view of his eyes. One word would end this mess.

    "Sleep."

The robber's eyes grew heavy and within seconds he was sleeping like a baby. So now it seemed that all three were down. But there were still a mess of rabbits and flaming curtains. They needed to clean up this mess before the cops got here, as it would be hard to explain. Maybe she was just being paranoid though...

Either way she looked to Teagan, hoping she thought the same. "Can you send them home? Also, Vergil, the fire." It was weird, asking for something and not demanding it. Least it was in this situation. But she didn't want to push any of the others, especially not this early in their relationship.

Due to her dislike of the police she would like it if they all just left now but as she looked around she saw Thallen's injured leg. A gasp. That all she could muster now as no ideas of how to handle a gunshot wound came to mind.

She would have been polite enough not to pry into the other recruit's life but Azrael would not see that for herself as a guard stepped out of Operations and called for her. Wesley was also sought after. So there went her chance for a sparing partner, because one try at conversation was enough for her.

Sighing she sat up, getting to her feet. "Good luck and all that."

That girl always did look like one of the tougher ones, but Lily had not expected to hear quadruple homicide. Now she regretted only saying kidnapping, as she sounded weak in comparison. It was already apparent enough, the other being here a year longer already. That meant more training. It could only be a matter of time before she made agent, leaving Lily behind in a trail of dust. How unfair. The only hope she had at being better if she ranked higher in some skills.

None of this really mattered though. It was time to move on. So with that thought she wandered off, returning to one of the training dummies that she then began punching. She hoped there was gun training today. Schedules were constantly changing around here so it was impossible to tell which lessons they were going to get. The only thing that stayed the same was this free training period and breakfast which came after, though sometimes even those got thrown around. So all she really could do was hope for the best.

"How do I move on to the next circle?" She mumbled, mostly to herself as she didn't think the voice would reply.

While Jane thought it over she was removing gold from the treasure chest she found before climbing in, making sure it could easily be climbed out of so she would not end up trap inside. That would have sucked.

Once inside she pulled out the mirror from a pocket hidden in the folds on her dress. A rather useful thing she liked and probably the reason she bought it. Though if she knew she was going to die that day she would have picked out a comfortable pair of jeans instead. Anyway...moving on.

While waiting to see something in the mirror she thought about her next move. Was it as simple as running through the wasteland until finding a path or something of the sort? No other ideas were coming to her...so that would be what she did.

Before then though she would wait until the demons went away, if they had even followed her here. It gave her a chance to rest too, which was something she never had since coming here.

    Her feet were so sore...

But not wanting to stay put for too long she got out once she thought it to be clear and headed in the opposite direction of the line. By doing so she didn't give the other end of the mirror much time to call or even speak to it, but what if they were hiding like she was? Talking to them would make noise, noise that could end up putting them in danger. Though...they could do the same by contacting her first...

Unsure how to go about this she decided to just keep the mirror out while running, hoping for the other person to say something before the next obstacle. If not... Well, she would think of something. Sooner or later...

The branch snapped and her body fell to the ground. But instead of just knowing this from a third-person perspective she felt it herself. The pain of falling. The feeling of dirt under her hands.

She was breathing again. Well, more like gasping for air. Did the dead even need to breath? Either way Kyle was thankful for the functioning lungs again but the time for joy was short lived at the sound of a harpy's shriek. She turned and began crawling for the branch, throwing off her noose while doing so. It would be her only defense against the dangerous monster.

Once her fingers tightened around it she was on her feet, swinging it at an in-coming harpy. It flung its talons at her but was unable to close in enough to do any real damage. There was, however, a nice scratch on Kyle's arm. Though it was traded off with a good smack by the branch.

That hit broke it even further though and she was forced to throw it aside. Now defenseless she turned and began maneuvering through the thorns and trees.

It worked! She actually had the demon's staff in her hands now. However she was so overwhelmed with surprise the demon nearly gotten over its own shock. What a mistake that was. But in order to fix it she gave the thing a good whack on the head before leaving the line.

Running with the staff in her hands was an odd feeling but she wasn't exactly willing to lose it just yet. After all it was the only weapon she could find in miles unless she got extremely lucky. And looking at the fact that she was in hell made her doubt her luck. So Jane held on tight as she made her way to the nearest tower of gold.

Just jumping in seemed physically impossible and even if it were possible the gold would undoubtedly crush her. So instead she ran behind it, hoping no one had seen her do so. That is when she remembered a being watching from above. Surely this would not be enough. Even something like that needed time to look around though so perhaps she was still safe.

Still, no use in wasting time. So where to hide?

Aha, a chest was near by. Once emptied of its contents it was wide enough for her to fit in it. But after waiting what would she do next? As far as she could tell there was nothing but an endless wasteland. Would the voice tell her another hint? Reward her in escaping the demons but placing her elsewhere? If not then she had no idea...

Wait. Maybe the mirror would help? Perhaps talking to whomever it was on the other side would give her some insight, and she could even do that while hiding, sparing her some time.

She finally reached the demon. It started to poke her arm with the staff and, to keep calm, she took a deep breath. This had to be timed perfectly.

    It had to.

Looking towards it Jane watched its movements, waiting to get in sync with its timing. After each poke there was a three second waiting period.

She had it down perfectly and just in time too because surely it would not be long before it started to hit her instead of giving nothing but pokes.

So after it pulled back the three second waiting period started.

In the first second it laughed.

    The second it aimed.

The third would be painful, but just before the staff could make contact Jane's body turned and it went right by her.

She reached to grab it, hoping the demon was too shocked to fight back before it was hers.

With the drills frozen in time they made easier targets. She was easily able to rush through them, slashing a few before ending up on the other side as she waited for the spell to wear off. Once it did her attacks were shown as they were beaten around before vanishing. That dropped the drills numbers down into the single digits. In fact, the birds were also few in numbers and with no dogs remaining. They would all soon be gone.

From pretending to feel pain in her body to imagining the fingers twitching and eyelids opening. This as well as trying to sway her branch for the body to fall to the ground. It was hard working as both but she had practice being a tree, plenty in fact. So it was like breathing, something that took no focus which allowed her to give all of it to being human again.

An idea to help popped up. Instead of just picturing her moving and feeling in her body could there be a better way to do this? Perhaps to think back to her life... That lead straight to sorrow though, which sounded like a bad thing. After all it seemed like this was their time for a second chance. Throwing it all away again through despair wasn't the way to go.

So instead she thought back to a happy time in her life. It was when she dated someone she truly loved and made plans for the future then. That was the feeling she focused on and tried transferring next.

And if emotions weren't enough she pictured the times they danced together, hoping that it would be enough to get free.

At first the piles of treasure taunted her every waking moment, and Jane desperately tried to get at them only to fail every time. After so many failures no more attempts were made. It just made no sense to keep trying, though some souls down here still did so. Even those who had gotten here long before her.

She tried reasoning with them, telling them it was pointless. But no one really listened. It was a shame, because she really had hoped they could work together for freedom.

Freedom... An impossible dream. Or so it seemed until the voice.

Now there was a real chance to get out of this wretched place.

But the real question was how? While in line they were guarded and tormented by demons, one of said beings stood a few people before her. Its staff knocked one soul down before it started bashing against the poor sod's back. All she had was a mirror and a few words of a voice without a body to go off of. Perhaps she could ask whoever that was on the other side of the mirror for advice... Though instead she simply hid it, fearing the demons seeing and breaking it. And it was just far too early to risk losing it.

Her first thought was to hide in the treasure until they noticed her missing and started the search, waiting for it to move away from her before slipping out, but it was impossible to get there... So plan B. What was plan B?

Plan B could be... to take the demon's staff and knock it out, rewarding herself with an opening to run and maybe even try plan a. So she waited until the line moved her closer to the demon, taking deep breaths along the way.

So how did a pawn take over the gameboard? Typically by crossing to the over side. But he didn't have the faintest idea how to do that here. And it wasn't like this was chess, though the idea still suggested upgrading to a more important piece.

No idea how to do that either.

Perhaps he should talk this over with Olivia, but he wasn't exactly sure what was going on with that as well. Wow, how useless was he... What really would help would just being able to see this thing from a better view. To do so more view points would be most helpful. And so he sent a text to Theodore, the only other person still alive in his contacts, asking if they could meet up somewhere.

After that he realized it was getting late and so, skipping his second shower for once, Elliot decided to go to sleep.

It had been strongly suggested to them to leave their pasts where it was, behind them. Thinking back on it would only cause a longing to return to it or a sense of regret for leaving loose ends. That was the motto they always heard anyway. Though it couldn't be bad to discuss this, right? Because surely no one wished to go back to jail.

"Had a kidnapping episode. What about you?"

She then nodded at the gesture to trade places before doing so, waiting for Azrael to get her feet before starting her own set of sit-ups. In mid-process of doing one she noticed something moving towards Ops and paused the work out to get a better look.

Vincent was walking by. It wasn't something strange in of itself, as the man in charge of this particular Division base had to keep up-to-date with everything going on. But his expression showed signs of anger. That was never a good sign.

Added. Also belated realization that it should be 'Time with Division' instead of years, for people can be there for a few months or even new. So fixed the forms and accepted skeletons in the OP.

    "How ridiculous could you be?"

It kept playing in her head.

    Over and over.

    "How ridiculous could you be?"

Ridiculous? It was ridiculous to take her own life after years of suffering? Of never-ending pain? Though if she were to be completely honest it was not about that at the end. No, it was for a much simpler reason. She just didn't want to live anymore. It was too tiring, just existing.

Why was just being alive so hard anyway? No one asked to be born, it just happens. So why was some punished for it? None of it made sense. Nor was any of it fair.

The worst part about it all was that in the end, after all that pain, she ended up here. It was like God wanted anyone who suffered in life to suffer in their after-life too because somehow suffering in one place just wasn't enough.

The thought made her want to scream.

But now it seemed that she had a chance to escape this unjust fate thanks to whoever this voice was. It said something about higher-ups so it couldn't be God, if such a thing truly did exist. Was it some demon? To think...something everyone thought to be evil being the kindest thing she's ever known. Even if it was only doing this for amusement or something and was only letting three of them out it truly did feel like the work of an angel. And she silently thanked the being as this unmoving existing carried on.

However, even with the promise of a way out of here it seemed impossible to do so. How could a tree run? All it could do was feel its old body hang from its branch and pain from the harpies. Though if it could feel pain than surely something could be done here... Maybe there was a way to transfer her soul or whatever to her body. How, she had no idea. But there had to be some way...

Maybe, just as a start, she would imagine herself being whole again. Even so far as feeling the pain in her body, the scratches and bite marks appearing on her skin. Her crying out. Just something, anything to make it feel as if she was normal.

Upon finishing his routine Elliot searched the internet to discover that while on his little underground adventure nine students had died. Things were just getting crazier around here with each passing moment... Speaking of, he turned in his desk chair to glance at the bird still sleeping on his bed, wondering if that really was his friend in there. So bizarre.

However, despite how surreal that situation was and how little he cared for the victims, as none were people he knew of, that wasn't the most important thing.

All of the names the news listed were also in the email. And for so many to drop, before the deadline even, pushed him to the final point needed for the boy to take it completely serious. In fact he even decided to trace all the names listed to see how many of them were gone. By the end of this study he was uncertain of his future, or if one even remained for him.

Would he be dead soon? The thought of leaving this world stopped bothering him a few years prior but it wasn't like his life had being threatened since then. There was also Theodore and Olivia's names present, so surely their lifespans had shortened drastically just forty-four days ago.

Forty-four days. It was almost the half way point already. How dare he waste so much time!

Standing up he began to slowly pace the room, trying to think of a way to save those he cared for. For them to live, they had to win right? The email didn't even say anything about winning, though it did claim this to be a game, one with rules even. So there had to be a way. And there was...what was that line again...

"Whether or not you create or posses the gameboard has little to do with your ability to control it."

Was there a way they could take control? This was something he should invest time in.
