"...Kingdom Hearts 3, the console version we're thinking about."

Oh, that's a good sign. Ugh...

But, all in all, this looks awesome. Cant wait for it to come out. I just wish I didn't have to go out and buy another system in order to play it. But 35 to 70 hours is really good news!

By "remix", I assume this is only a remaster of the games? Well, that lowers my expectations. Just look at the Silent Hill remasters. They ended up being downgrades (though, that's thanks to the fact that the current Team Silent is a bunch of derps.)

If anything, I'd wish for just a remake of Days. The one thing I've wanted in a Kindgom Hearts game since the first Final Mix is a game where you can play as a character in that amazing looking trenchcoat and all of its flowing goodness. To be able to jump and run around and have it flow as if it were actual cloth (like in Chaos Legion, the game with the greatest pseudo-physics engine on the PS2). And what do we get? We get a game on the DS where the cloaks dont move at all.

And I know we have mods to play as Roxas or Marluxia (which I've used), and all the other bosses if you're using an emulator, and they're pretty good. But you're still limitted to a very small amount of animations.

This is nice to read: "If it is possible, I would like to do something about the series being spread over so many different consoles, too."
And this: "I also feel that it's about time that Kingdom Hearts should go back to being on a console."
I originally got a PS3 since it was the most likely system that the KH series would continue on. Guess I was wrong. Hopefully I wont be for long, though.

As for FFvXIII, Square can take as long as they need to, so long as they make it just as good as it seems like it's going to be! It looks like it's going to be, if not the best, close to the best Final Fantasy game yet. A heavy story, Kingdom Hearts-like combat, pseudo-open world gameplay...
So, no point in rushing Square. They can take their time to make this game perfect.

So, is this "play as Dark Riku" the Riku with the Keyblade of Hearts? Or is it with the Soul Eater? Either one is great, but the Keyblade of Hearts is my favourite key in the series, so it'd be awesome to be able to use that weapon. I saw on a previous page that there were difficulties replacing Sora's weapon with the K.o.H., so I guess this is the only way to use it.

Now THAT makes a lot of sense. I've never read the manga, and I've always wondered why Vanitas looked and sounded like Sora. It didn't make any sense to me. But if that's the case, then it does. Brilliant.

First Final Fantasy XIII-2, and now KH3D. Square really needs to get it out of their system and just make a Pokemon game! (can you imagine, though? A Pokemon game with modern Final Fantasy graphics?)

"...it's more of a mix between Days and Re:coded's systems."
^Not sure how to take that. BbS had one of the best interfaces of any game I've played. Days was pretty good, but RE:Coded was awkward and uncomfortable. ///_=

I get what you mean. Those flashy battles are sometimes the focal point. But:
Naruto has a far more realistic ideal and political understanding than One Piece. And I wasn't talking about cultural references either. It's just that Kishimoto put a quite a bit more thought into that series than most other writers put into theirs, including Nomura (though Nomura does do a pretty good job). And while the character Shikamaru is portrayed as smart, that's, again, not what I was talking about. It doesn't have to do with the characters, but the ideals they're trying to push. If I were to make a comparrison, I'd say Naruto and Assassin's Creed are almost identical (though based in different backgrounds). It's about whether or not Carthaginian Peace is necessary in the world or not. Pein and Tobi fight for that - peace through either controlling the mind or peace through fear. So far in Naruto, it seems that yes, it is necessary. And the only way to have the illusion of unity between people is when they're all fighting a common enemy (the war vs. Tobi). So I'd have to say that, while Naruto seems to be pushing "Friendship and hard work overcome anything", it really isn't. Now, since Kishimoto will probably have to end the story on a happy note, it might end up being friendship-and-love-conquer-all, but if he stays in this realistic path he's on now, it wont.

And there are a few stereotypes in the series. About the same amount as in Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy. But, I am always saddened when someone calls the Sasuke character a stereotype. He's absolutely not, as he's reacting like any true person would in his situation. It's kind of like how people hate on Hope so much in FFXIII, yet he's acting just like a kid would in his situation.

You're throwing Naruto into that type of category? Naruto: a story that has heavy themes of Nationalism, political struggle, mythological and historical basis, social hierarchy and the bonds within them. Of course, there are things that only certain types of people would be able to understand. For example: Being from a noble clan myself that was betrayed and almost destroyed, I can personally relate to Sasuke's story and the familial and nationalistic feelings that go into his desire for revenge against the people who made his brother kill his clan. That series is far, FAR deeper than Kingdom Hearts is. It's just that no-one takes the time to really look at the series. Because it's so popular, they instantly assume it's just a silly story (even the people who like it assume that).

Now that I say that, that's sort of what I think IGN is doing here with Kingdom Hearts as well... hmmm...
I know it sounds weird, but this has happened before: because KH is so popular, they might think it cant possibly be a deep story. If it were, then it would have a more elite fan base since most people wouldn't be able to understand it or appreciate it.

We've been in Kingdom Hearts twice, if I remember right. It was, as Stoop Kid said, where the final Xemnas battle took place, and it is where Aqua's "secret ending" took place in BBS Final Mix. Plus, we saw inside of it at the end of KH1 when Riku and Mickey were stuck inside of it. I'm pretty sure that door is the border between Kingdom Hearts and the world(s).

"It's like Twilight for boys." No. Not even remotely. What Twilight is, is a holocaust of Eastern European mythology with a main female protagonist that it supposed to represent the average girl, but is instead a stupid cur who should be tortured before dying a most painful death. (Spoony from Channel Awesome says it better in his review of Eclipse than I ever could.) Plus, Twilight is a disgrace to my name (Edward). How dare they compare Kingdom Hearts to Twilight.

But I do agree with the fact that the story is getting way, WAY too muddied up. Brad from 4playerpodcast gave a talk on this a few years back during one of their streams.
Also, the fact that the games are spread across multiple systems really pisses me off. It wouldn't be so bad if they were all on Sony systems, but Nintendo? I didn't even own a GBA or DS when CoM or 358/2 came out. Thus, I had to go and buy them. And those games were the only games I ever owned for the consoles (and this was before I knew about emulators. I got the ROM for RE:Coded).
I dont own a 3DS, and if I get one for KH3D, then it'll again be the only game I'd own on the console. I dont even know if they'll make an emulator for 3DS games, if they haven't already. But even if they do, the games on emulators still run horridly compared to on the systems.
If they dont want to make a game for the next gen consoles, why didnt Square just produce KH3D for the PS2? The PS2 isn't a dead system, and people would still buy the game if it came out for it. I'm sick of having to get new systems.

In the 8 minute trailer, we actually see Ienzo, Lea, and if I remember right, Aeleus and Dilan as well. So we know at least 4 of the original 6 are back (including Xehanort), and Axel's human is back.

We've discussed why Ven and Roxas look alike, but the bigger question that I have is this:
Why do Vanitas and Sora look alike and have the same voice? Sora is a unique human, and Vanitas was a part of Ven before he ever met Sora. So why are they so similar?

That systems section is pretty nice. Seeing the gameplay mechanics does hype me up a bit more. However, that pet-scenario thing in the 4th video is still stupid looking.
The rendition of Dearly Beloved that auto-plays on the site is absolutely beautiful, by the way!

Is there a code for FFX that has all the arena monsters unlocked? After doing one playthrough of over 130 hours to unlock everything a few years ago, I really dont want to do it again just to be able to start a new game. ///_=

    1) Hmmm... Eleanor Roosevelt and Marilyn Monroe. Nice, nice. I like Monroe as well, haha.
    2) Walt Disney. Now THAT is a good choice.
    3) Robert E. Lee is epic.
    4) Bach is nice as well. Theodore Roosevelt is brilliant.
    5) Caesar. Not silly at all. Which Caesar, I wonder. ///_^
    6) Speaking of composers, Chopin is probably my favourite.

    1) KotOR is one of the greatest games, I think. Nice choice.
    2) Ah, the Tycoon series. Good choice. Sims City, too.
    3) L4D is extremely fun. And it's not terrifying, lol. The mods for it are amazing.
    4) Monkey Island? Huh. Portal -and Portal 2- are awesome, though.
    5) Did he say Xenosaga? I couldn't quite hear him.
    6) Okami. I haven't played it, but I like how it touches on Shinto mythology so much.
    7) Assassins Creed is one of the most epic series ever. The Sims series is also an amazing choice. I once put a baby in a closed off room and just left it there to die. It didn't. Child Services tried to get to it, but they couldn't.

These already exist. In fact, if you download the most recent official CwCheat database, it has quite a few codes for Crisis Core.

Out of all the worlds, I'm glad Traverse Town is back! (though, it sucks Disney lost the copyrights to Tarzan, as Deep Jungle was the best in KH1, and I've always been upset that it's never come back in any of the other games)

Paris sounds fun, but I really cant imagine it in this game series, haha. (Notre Dame)
