"Congratulations," Allen was in excruciating pain, but suddenly he'd had an idea. "You proved you can beat an injured man in a fight. I doubt if I was running at a hundred percent that you'd be able to beat me though. That's why you waited until after I was stabbed to come here and cause problems right? You knew that if things got violent you wouldn't be able to hold out against me. So you waited until I'd be at a disadvantage before you came here. Like a coward. You and I both know that you wouldn't have been able to pull off that last trick if I was completely healed." Allen hoped that by saying these things he could bait the man into healing him before he bled to death.

"You're full of it," Allen said curtly. "I'm Janinan through-and-through, born and conceived here. And if you're curse really is effecting me, then why do I have so many people I know who like me? Did you think of that. As for looking like I could down easy-" Allen gripped his sword tighter "-you should know that looks can be deceiving. But please, come and test that if you like." Allen was hoping that the man would be more interested in talking than fighting. For all his talk, he knew he was in no condition for a fight.

Allen laughed, painful as it was. He looked at the man with an arrogant grin. "Then you must have the wrong guy. I wasn't born under your curse, I was born in Janina, and plenty of people like me." Allen thought of Jen, he knew well enough that she didn't dislike him, and there were plenty of other people who liked him too. He laughed again. "You come here, trying to get under my skin, for whatever purpose, and you don't even have all your facts straight. That's hilarious, and here I thought you might actually be trouble. My mistake."

"What? What are you talking about?" Allen had no idea what the man was trying to get at, though he suspected the man was trying to agitate him. He didn't know what a son of the eclipse was , or what his parents had to do with anything.

"Why do you care if anyone's seen me angry?" Allen's injury almost made it hard for him to speak. His walk here had agitated it and it was worse now than it had been when he had first received it. Nevertheless he wasn't about to back down or show any weakness in front of this man, who had suddenly appeared with no other apparent purpose than to insult him. "And what do you want with me anyway?"

Allen hobbled to the place where Claire had fought with Rako, every step he took caused him pain but he made it back at around the same time Vendeval was getting there. He looked around, unable to find Rako. He leaned against a wall, supporting himself on it. "Rako's gone?," he asked no one in particular. "Don't tell me I missed the party." The pain from his stab wound could be heard in his voice.

Allen laid down on his back, letting gravity hold in his innards to free his hands. He removed his vest and shirt. Then tore the shirt in a way that would make it into a makeshift bandage. He tied it tightly around his wound. With some effort he stood up, he set the tip of his sword against the ground and leaned on it. When Drei had offered to help him, he thought the other boy was offering some kind of healing. He could have gotten himself away from the fight if he had wanted. Shirtless, and using his sword like a cane, he began making his way back to where Rako and Claire were fighting. Unsure exactly what he planned to do once he got there.

Allen looked up at Drei, and accepted his offer for help. "Be quick about it though. Soon Claire's going to need more help than I do." He recognized Drei from the night he had fought Rako, or Mixt, he wasn't entirely sure now. Either way he remembered he and Drei had been on the same side in that fight and figured right now they could use all the help they could get.

Allen clutched at his gut, doing his best to keep everything from falling out. He fell to his knees. "That's a dirty trick." He looked up at Rako as he said this. His mind was suddenly assaulted with images of the night Mixt had killed the boy. The darkness Rako had placed inside him was reacting to his proximity to Rako. He was assailed with images of himself fighting with the creature standing in front of him, and of Rako standing over the dead body of the student Mixt had killed. These images competed with the memories he had from that night. His mind was also assaulted by other thoughts, most of which he could not clearly make out. As he kneeled in pain and confusion a single word escaped his lips, "Rako." Then another word, spoken more softly, "Jen."

"Well then give me my power back for now at least. If you're really as righteous as you're acting, then you'll want me at my full power to protect the city." Allen was growing seriously concerned with the voice in his head. He turned to Claire. "Can't run fast or else what?"

I think I agree with riku, just look at my last couple posts to understand why. I was wondering though, Is there a way I can check to see if anyone's posted without losing everything I've already typed? I don't want to go check if anyone's posted after spending over ten minutes writing my own post just to find out no one else has put anything and I'm just going to have to type the same thing over again.

After Claire had called Allen an amateur, and after she had treated him like an idiot whenever he asked a completely reasonable question, he felt like he had something to prove. That was why he had run with her when she left for the palace. Now he looked at her and wondered why he felt like he needed to prove anything to her. It wasn't like him to care about someone else's opinion of him. Especially a stranger's. He spoke to her. "Hey, how fast did you want to get to the palace?"

Allen's pride was hurt somewhat when Claire called him an amateur. "Wrong. We may be a little inexperienced compared to some others but Nny was one of the top students at one of Janina's top academies, and I've already taken on armed soldiers and beaten them. On top of that just recently I single-handedly took out an airship's engine. We can definitely manage this. More importantly, look what that airship just did to the hospital. Look what it's still doing to the city. We should take that thing out."

Allen considered what Claire had said. Running over possible ideas and trying his best to ignore the pain he was feeling. After a short time he thought of an idea he liked. "Maybe we don't have to destroy it. Maybe we just break into the bridge and fly it away. Mess with the controls so that they can't fly it back, and then bail out as the ship's leaving to fight on the ground. Does that sound good to anyone?"

"I don't have time to discuss this with you. We'll talk later." Allen could tell this was going to be a complicated discussion, and right now, he needed his focus to be on the battle. He turned to Nny. "I don't know. I didn't actually take out the first airship, I just destroyed one of its engines, and that was kind of by accident. Those airships definitely need to be taken out though. So it might be worth a shot." This was the first full-scale battle Allen had ever been in, and as a result he was forgetting to fake emotional detachment.

Allen looked in horror as debris rained from the heavens. He recognized the Eclipscion insignia on the attacking airships, and suddenly realized that Phisoxa must have been right. Somehow he had started a war. He tried to console himself with the thought that they could have attacked for other reasons. It was no secret that Eclipscion and Janina hated each other, so this war could have been started for just about any reason. The thought brought some comfort. Allen responded to the voice in his head. "What are you talking about?" He turned to Nny and summoned his sword "I'll fight, and protect these people." He looked at Shero and Dante. "Can you two help?"

"It's a long story." Allen scanned the area around them. "Is Phisoxa around? I'd rather tell you both at once if I can. Besides that I have some information about-" Allen looked at Dante suspiciously- "about the school, and I wanted to talk to her about something."

Allen recognized Shero and started over to her, glad to have found one of the two girls he had been looking for. He had actually forgotten that he was supposed to be searching for Phisoxa and Shero after running into Nny. As he reached them he heard the voice in his head, so to Shero he just said a simple "hey." Then he addressed the voice in his head. "Hello? Who is this?"

After trying to contact Legion several more times without success Allen walked out of the hospital. He saw Nny and Claire talking and walked up to them. He didn't particularly like Nny, but it would give him some company. Plus he was in a part of the city he'd never been in before and didn't know his way around, or where to go from there. Of course he did his best to not let them know any of this. He said to Claire, "hey. So, you ran off before I could ask; exactly what are those consumer-killing weapons you mentioned? How do they work? And where can I get some of them?"
