Not sure what you mean when you say "stick with the online one, even if I don't have live".

Technically, everyone has an Xbox "Live" account, the only difference is whether you have a silver one or a gold one.

The major difference between the two is that gold is the only one that allows you to play games online with other people. With a silver account you are still able to download demos, videos, themes, etc from the XBLM, access friends list, etc, so you are still able to 'go online'. You just aren't able to access online multiplayer for any of your titles.

I digress, by 'online one' I'm assuming you're referring to a gold account that you have made, and if so then yes, it'd be best to stick with that one from now on as all you'd need to do if you decide to want to play games online again is to simply renew it, instead of making another account.

I would like to guess that moving your data onto USB sticks would suffice, and just move them back onto your new PS3 later. But that is if they decide it would be better to give you a new PS3 altogether.

Regardless, it would be best to ask Sony about whether or not there is a way to preserve your data in the case that you need a new console. It makes no sense to me that Sony would not consider cases of this happening since console replacements is not a foreign solution in the industry. I'd like to think they'd have a solution for you.

But again, I would like to imagine USB sticking would work, but I'm unsure about whether or not game data is linked to your console the same way it is for the 360 and Wii.

    Problem

Black lines... is the colour distorted in any way?

You say you're using components, and often times if you plug the RGB cables incorrectly (ex. plugging the red into the blue spot), your image will be distorted. Double check at the back to make sure you placed each plug in the right slots.

You also say it works fine on another TV, so if your plugs are in correctly, then it's most likely the TV.

Could you specify more about your problem? Providing as much detail as possible helps us know where exactly you might be having trouble and what the source of the problem might be. There are many things that might help posters address the issue:

Does the network still show up on your laptop/PC/Mac but you're just unable to connect to it? Or does the network not show up at all?
If it does show up, is it passworded? If so, does it say your password is incorrect?
If you are using a password, what kind of password encryption are you using? WEP? WPA? WPA2?

    Details please.

Just had to revive the old forum helper colour, didn't you?

Blinding neon lives again. *massive uber frown beyond comprehension*

EDIT: Actually, I take it back. It's not that bright.

No, I disagree. If you consider the things that make the MG franchise so amazing, I hardly doubt the 'voice of David Hayter' is a major selling point. I'm sorry but I hardly see anything amazing about Hayter as a voice actor. He's not terrible, but he's not breathtaking and blow people away in any sense when it comes how much he's been glorified by not only the fanbase, but himself as well. Too often have I seen interviews of this guy where he just self-deprecates himself beyond the point of amusement.

He's just along for the ride; doesn't really give him the right to pretend he, cause he's really not, lol. There are far better voice actors with far more versatility in their craft than Hayter, and they receive far less recognition. The Metal Gear franchise did well because of its complex lore, not because of a voice actor doesn't stand out any more than any of the other characters.

Nope. Jeff "Joker" Moreau is untouchable in terms of a romantic plot. He's pretty minor overall to the story.

I guess that's where we'll draw the line. I don't believe either the R700 or the Barrett are broken. They simply have their own strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps these 'weaknesses' come across as being broken to you, when in reality you may not be using them correctly or addressing their weaknesses properly.

On the other hand, the M40 has balanced stats with no real weaknesses. This is probably why things work out for you almost all the time, because there is no drawbacks that you need to address. And in my opinion, I don't think using such a rifle with such properties requires more skill.

But I'll leave it at that.

The only long-term future I see for MG is for Kojima to start doing other people's stories. No doubt there is an incredible reservoir of material in the MG mythos. He has a crap load of material at his disposal. I think it's about time he changes the direction or just works on something new altogether.

Stop giving David Hayter more work. The guy's gotten so full of himself, it's getting f*cking annoying.

I'm actually quite surprised you discovered it on FF.net first before here, but even more surprising was I had no idea you had an account there. lol.

XD I read your review on FF.net, and I had no clue that some people find my writing style distinct. But I suppose that's a good thing.

Thanks again, and I'm glad you liked it.

I haven't had much problems with hit detection, and when I do miss a hit I feel I should've landed, the reason is usually lag (since Infinity Ward decided to go with a migrated host system, which pisses off a lot of people), or I just didn't lead my shot properly enough. Again, it's not that the hit detection is faulty, it's simply they give you less leeway in terms of what 'counts' as a hit; in other words, the hit range is smaller (which is how accuracy works in games like this). This is one reason why it's more challenging to use the R700 or the Barrett.

Granted, unless you're a machine or an insanely unreasonable geek at the game, you're going to miss every now and then, but my point was that if you do things correctly, you're going to land your kill. I don't see luck having much to do with getting kills with either the R700 or Barrett.

And I've used the ACOG on just about every map. I know how it works and how it benefits the gun it's being used on, but in the end I prefer the naked scope, regardless of which sniper I use.

Then allow me to join you in the 'Fabless' club.

Truth is I've procrastinated getting it, possibly because my wallet has been diminishing lately.

Well that was ass. But at least I now have a game for December (if I'm safe to assume that's the month). And although almost all of my friends play on 360s, I just don't see myself buying this game for any other console but the PS3. 2D fighters (although SFIV is like.. 2.5D <_<) just don't get along with the 360 controller. I somewhat regret buying Guilty Gear off the XBLM.
