The two saw them coming and made a break for the nearest gap in the crowd. Detectives had already surrounded the place and shouted for them to stop but they had no intentions of going quietly. Broccoli pulls out a copy of The Economist and opens it to reveal a blank piece of paper on which he writes ICSP's name, hoping his death will buy himself time to escape. ICSP pulls out the Death Note and writes Broccoli's name in it hoping the same thing. The two are found dead a block away from the cafe. The Death Note failed to be recovered.
