I decided to sign up for this Jmanga site so I could get access to a manga I wanted. Could've stuck with free scanlations but I like the series and want to give the publishers their due. Anyhoo! I sign up, get myself 1,000 points (You buy points) and I got 2,000 free. Pretty sweet I'm thinking. So I bought 3 volumes for 499 points each and I had 1,503 left. I figured I'd buy another couple of manga's that I liked and since 2 volumes were you got 50% back. So I bought one volume for the 499 price expecting to get the 50%. It might be that I haven't studied maths for many many years, but I can't figure out how 1,248 points is 50% of 499. ._. I hadn't realised at this point. It wasn't until I bought the other volume and when my points shot up to over 3,000 that I realised something was funny. Well, not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I bought the rest of the series and I now have 1,504 points. xD I had thought that maybe the site was maybe a scam but from what I've read it's legit. It wasn't until they contacted me about feedback I gave them that I understood. THIGH HE! Yup. Numpties! :|
I've been at this for a while and I can't see anyway of saving images from an online manga flash player to my computer. Basically, I bought some manga from the site JManga, and it's all fine and dandy if I want to read them online but I would like to be able to view them offline as well. I know I can screenshot them but I don't get the full quality of the image if I do that (especially if I want to zoom in). I've tried looking at my internet temp files and even the swf file (lol, just gave me the flash player) but I haven't been able to find the actual image files. I've tried to use chrome's network resource and Firefox's firebug to trace the images but it always says 'failed to load the given url'. Any input as to whether or not this is possible would be very much appreciated. But I kinda figure it's done to prevent folk from downloading them. Cause Easter Sunday isn't Easter without a drive. It was drizzling a wee bit when we left but nothing that would put us off from walking. But when we got there is was pouring down - torrential rain and high gales. My dad asked us if we wanted to go out but it would have been a waste if we didn't so we did. Walked for a wee bit till we were in line with the first wind turbine... Me - That's going fairly fast. Dad - Yeah... Me - Funny if the blades came off. Wee brother - Or if it exploded (that has happened) Dad - We're going home. And so we did, out walking for no more than 15 minutes, completely soaked and battered. Got home and it was blue skies. T'was a fun, random dream. Starts off in the middle of the city, inside a construction building. For some reason we're being chased. Fang and Lightning aren't in my dream yet, it's...like Harry and Malfoy and a few others. So we all get into a couple of vans and drove off. We're soon attacked by masked men with machine guns and we're forced to run by foot to the subway Station. When we get to the station the Railman demanded tickets from all of us, even the guys chasing us and he would not having any random shootings without tickets, so there was quite a line. xD We all got out tickets and chaos ensued once again till we escaped onto the train. This is were it changes. Harry and the like are gone, and Fang and Lightning are in. We arrive at an island (Apparently our train was also a submarine) and Lightning thinks it's best to explore the island. So we all got off, dressed in our swimwear , and went to 'explore' an area of small pools next to this massive, derelict white tower. I sat inside one of the small pools for a bit when I felt something move about my legs - a wee white dragon looking snake. I start to panic and call the others over, trying hard not to move. But before they could make it the wee thing starts making an awful noise, like an alarm. Lightning tells us that we have to find three water flowers; a blue, green, and a red one, to calm the snake. We find all the flowers and the the snake shuts up. Though we were too late an we woke up the residents of the tower (though we don't know that). Then it skips to Fang and myself exploring the lower levels of the tower (The others are in a different area of the tower). We explore for a bit until we walk into this hall with a massive statue. Suddenly this wee lass in a black cape attacks us with magic. Literally, she was just above my waist in height. We fight back (apparently I know swordplay) but the wee thing sends me over a small wall in the centre and I'm hanging on for dear life. Fang tries to help me up but I keep slipping till she lowers her spear for me to grab on to. The wee lass strikes her on the head from behind and she drops me and her spear. I fall into darkness and Fang is kidnapped. Fang wakes up some time later, chained and imprisoned. The wee lassie is standing on the other side of the bars basically taunting her. Then others appear and Fang finds out that they are like royalty (The King and Queen are only referred to as King and Queen while the siblings are Princess whatever her name is. Can't remember lol).They tell her the castle is split by a time barrier. So in order to get from one time to the other you have to go through the barrier at a certain location. Otherwise You'll be stuck in that time period. Anyway, they tell her she'll never the castle nor will she see her friends. They walk off and she awready has the chains undone. She's running down these wooden corridors when she is met with these wee flying bats (They have an eye for a body then bats wings xD) and they start shooting lasers at her. At one point she slips on some water and is sent back to prison. So she tries again. (Can't have a dream without some Zelda in it) She runs down the corridors again, gets chased by these bats things but swings herself round the corner were the water was. Then she goes Ass Creeds and starts running and jumping on roofs while being chased. She stops when she finds this huge caber (Seriously...HUGE!), picks it up and whacks the bats. The King, who is on the other side of the tower's garden, starts yelling and shaking his fist at her. It's too far for Fang to jump but she runs and jumps over the garden with the caber. Just as she's about to fall she uses Highwind and throws the caber to the ground, it bounces off the ground and shoots back up towards her, sending her high into the sky. The King panics as he see Fang coming down right on top of him. She narrowly misses crushing the the King, but gives chase. The sound of sobbing stops her and she looks over a hole to find Vanille crying next to the statue where she fought the wee lass. Fang runs up to Vanille and hugs her and everything goes black. The King and his family find Fang slumped against the statue, believing her dead, and leave her there. Just as they leave Fang smiles and I wake up. I WAKE UP! I love Midnight and her organising skills. ;__; So far for the night of the murder I have...the murder. xD So the victim is the Master. But I don't plan to make it clear what exactly killed him (to the player). When the player wakes up after all the lights go off to find the Master crushed underneath a chandelier but there will also be a knife in his neck. The player will then need to interview each of you and gather a Character Profile. What you guys need to do is create an alibi for the murder. The tricky part is to try and place the blame on others. Part of your job is to point the finger at others but at the same time create contradictions for the player to find. This is open to all suggestions and ideas. Post anything you think would help drive the story. I will update this tomorrow with the basic story outline, as well as the murderer. Mhuahaha!
You guys don't need to worry so much about this since it's intended for the Player but it's good to have as a reference. How to play The ultimate objective is straight forward – solve the murder. Sounds simple enough, however, in order to solve the murder you must first gather a sufficient amount of evidence and complete certain objectives to progress through the game. Even if you believe you’ve solved the case there are certain events that must first take place before you attempt to confront the murderer. Attempting so early in the game will not end well. The Player Due to an inexplicable event the guests have found themselves sharing one body. It is unknown how this occurred but from the message left by the Master your only hope is to solve the murder. Decisions/actions are carried out by the majority of votes. In the event that a tie has occurred a decision will not be made till one side wins. There is also an additional point in the voting system. Those who signed up to the Guest List will have the benefit of having their vote count as two. For example; 3 non-invited guests vote for option A 2 Invited Guests vote for option B In this instance option B would win as the 2 Invited Guests votes would add to a total of 4, despite more guests voting for Option A. It’s the total value of votes that decides the next decision/action. Having several minds has its advantages but the Player must be careful. Warning: Prolonged debates, arguing, indecisiveness will result in your Sanity Levels dropping. (See Sanity) Inquiries/Statements/Alibis Suspect statements will be a vital source of information in understanding and progressing through the game. Just don’t believe everything you hear! Some suspects may feel inclined to lie if they have something to hide and it is your job to reveal the truth. Looking for contradictions and comparing suspect statements will help reveal the truth. Presenting evidence to the suspect can also be used against a statement. Presenting a piece of evidence to a suspect you think can help might produce further details about that piece. Questioning a suspect will not always give you the answers you need. Commencing an inquiry with the wrong suspect or at the wrong time will leave you empty handed and may affect your Sanity Levels. (See Sanity) Evidence/Items bag Evidence will be your main source of information in solving this crime. Evidence can be used against suspects to reveal the truth or to draw out more information. For a piece of Evidence to be added to your bag the player must state that the Evidence be added to the bag. The same applies for Statements/Alibis. Failure to do so will result in the Evidence unusable. In some cases the player can retrace their steps to retrieve the Evidence but there is always a chance the Evidence has disappeared. Be sure to pick up everything you think is important! The player may also pick up items that they think could be of help in their investigation. Items can range from torches, food, books etc. To use an item the player must state that they wish to use it and for what purpose/how. Promptings will not be given. Logbook Your logbook will contain information about your investigation so far. Suspect profiles will be kept in the logbook and updated once new information is obtained. Further details such as rooms explored, Evidence, Items and decisions taken by the Player will also be logged. The Player does not need to worry about adding basic information as Kitty will maintain the logbook. However, it may be in the interest of the Player to give Kitty their own additions for the logbook. Personal additions may include theories (Must be backed up with sufficient evidence), things to further investigate, reminders etc. Highlighting points in statements/alibis is possible. If a guest notices contractions or relevant information, they may highlight it and store it in the log for the convenience of fellow guests. Green highlight – Relevant information Red highlight – False/Lying/Contradictions Blue highlight – Possibility of relevance. Objectives Despite the Player’s Ultimate goal being to find the murderer, there will be mandatory objectives to complete in order to move on. Objectives to complete and those completed will be listed in the Logbook. Sanity Having multiple minds in one body is dangerous, and having all those thoughts running at the same time is going to do a number on your sanity. Over time your sanity will wane, causing your grasp on reality to slip. Let your sanity fall too far and you’ll start seeing things. Performing certain actions or decisions will also cause your sanity level to drop. Also be aware that disagreements and long debates with yourself will also affect your sanity. Be careful not to argue with yourself too much! Resting The player may regain Sanity points by ‘Resting’. ‘Resting’ may be chosen at any time throughout the game, unless specified otherwise. When ‘Resting’ the player is unable to progress through the game but may continue to communicate. If the player wishes to ‘Rest’ they must choose between a ‘Quick Rest’ and a ‘Normal Rest’. Quick Rest – Player rests for 12 hours. Regains 25% sanity. Normal Rest – Players rests for 24 hours. Regains 75% sanity. After a ‘Rest’ is completed the player can continue with the game. Once the player’s sanity reaches zero it will be game over. Death Investigating a murder is a dangerous job and the choices the Player makes will mean life or death. In most situations the choice will be an obvious one. As the game progresses the chances of death increases, and in some cases, will happen suddenly. Sometimes playing it safe and slowly working your way through is the best option. If the player dies they must wait 24 hours before beginning again at the Save Point. Death will also occur if the Player’s Sanity level has depleted. A greater penalty will be given and the Player must wait 36 - 48 hours before continuing from the last Save Point. Saving Saving will be available at selected points in the game. The Player must request to save in order for it to come into effect. If the Player dies they will restart from the previous save point. Kitty Kitty will be your guide for this game. She will maintain your logbook and carry your evidence/items. The Player can also ask Kitty to further explain a room and items picked up. Some items full descriptions are only attainable this way. Kitty will also offer her opinion on matters and give hints if something is missed. Kitty is not just there to offer advice and help you on your journey, she also helps keep your Sanity. If the Player and Kitty are separated they must find her as soon as possible. Separation from Kitty will cause your Sanity decrease at twice the rate. Decisions made without the presence of Kitty will cost you twice the sanity points. So be sure to find her if she disappears! I will update this later. Suggestions are also welcomed.
As the title says, this will be where you guys post your character profiles. You're all basically free to create your character as you like. Create their personality to however you like, and create a motive as to why your character would kill the Master. Lets face it, everyone has a reason to. xD There will be, on occasions, that I require your character to have a special quality or skill, and I will tell those members what it is. This is purely to fit parts of the story that I have planned out awready. But I'll get to that in the Story thread. The Master Kind and welcoming to his guests, a womanising old man to any woman under his employment. He looks like a perfect gentleman in the public eye but in his own home he is grumpy, abusive and demanding to his staff. He expects and demands more from his female employees, and throws jealous fits at the younger male employees. The Master also has a few dark secrets that he thinks no one else knows... ^That's all I've got so far. XD Now, I ask that each of you write, or list, a brief character profile. It's nothing detailed, just your personality, perhaps things you are good at, skills that you have etc. Also a reason why you would want to kill the Master. You can pair up for motives if you like.
