OOC:Yeah, I'll finally be on today as well. Here's hoping everyone else will be.
OOC:*Facepalm* Please, for the sake of our sanities, leave. There are many other RPs in which you can join in which you would fit much better. Try Gaia. As to the rest of the members, I don't care which saga is "epic" if it means we are at each other's throats. Quit the arguing. At I sorry Pirate. I really ment to get on, but I had to take the ACT today, and spent the last few days studiying and preparing. This was my last chance to get a high score on it to get a good scholarship. Also, I'm sorry if I appeared snappy before (or even now) since I'm kind of stressed over. They had some problem with my application, and I almost wasn't allowed to take it. That gave me a good scare. But enough dragging my personal life into this as I always do. Let's quit the fighting amonst ourselves and continue fighting our imaginary adversaries. EDIT: Well, lol. Seems I'm not the only one.
Here's what I say! Heed my words! Hidden>Pocketman™
OOC:Well one thing I love seeing in any story is growth, even in things I read. Now, we have had plenty of growth. Its just that all the growth is well, "structured". What I love to see, and even more so, create, is something that can grow on its own. Something, that when written takes a complete opposite turn of what even the writer himself/herself expected, growing, continuing, existing, as if it was an entity of itself. A story so alive, as the saying goes, that it writes itself. Our story is still plenty alive, it just kind of limping, that's all. Let's breath some life into this RP. Let's make it come alive! ALIVE I TELL YOU!! ITS ALIVE! MUWHAHAHAHAHA!
OOC:Massive Storm=Power Outage=No fun....The power just came back on 20 minutes ago. I decided to read for a bit using a flashlight. As for getting rid of the Brotherhood, there is always alternatives. Thinking up of said alternatives may be next to impossible, but I'll try and think of a few ideas. Obviously, it won't be a peaceful solution, but who knows? We'll see what we can pull out of a hat for this one. 1. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Perhaps we could force the two sects of the brotherhood against each other and have them tear each other apart, at least for a large chunk of the fights. Afterwords, we play mop up and finish the rest. Perhaps even using enemies we've fought previously as allies against a common enemy. Unlikely, but its the first thing I came up with in about 5 seconds. 2. An idea for Scourge. He becomes so powerful that his power folds inwards upon itself and Scourge becomes a dimensional instability that threatens the entire universe. Most of the Brotherhood is wiped out, and we are faced against are doom, in no way capable of overpowering him by sheer force and be forced to use our heads to get out of it. 3. Surprise ending! We pull a Chronicle of Narnia and all die. The End. (In the last book of the series, there is a massive train wreck that kills off basically every main character from the series. SERIOUSLY.) (Btw, in case you haven't noticed, this idea is a joke) 4. We break the fourth wall. Always seems to work.
OOC:I've certainly felt that way a lot, but somehow I keep coming back. And I'm glad for it. However, I have been thinking, and while it was nowhere near as "professional" as our RP is now, I keep thinking our earlier days were just outright more fun. Nothing personal, of course, but our earlier adventures just had that bit of spontaneity and no one, even me, had any idea what was going to go on next. It was the days when instead of one or two people coming up with a plot, everyone joined and pitched in with the storyline and each person had an equal effect on the overall story, when they came up with ideas, of course (Thus, I never took too large a part of the storyline anyway, except for the start, and that was about it. Not that I minded, I was still having fun) But this whole, "Ok, we go here, fight this guy, get all beat up and somehow win, then repeat process with next guy" just is really anti-climatic. I love it when storylines throw you for a loop, but so far its far too predictable, no offense. Now, I have been gone a loooong time, so I am most certainly not one to judge, and perhaps really unique things have been happening while I was gone, I don't know, but I love it when things are decided on a whim and the story writes itself more than the people behind do, more or less, where the story grows and takes you in new directions you've never thought of. You guys might have something epic planned, so this might be just a useless rant of bull, still these are my thoughts. I am not saying, however, that the story was devoid of these moments, heck even the very last time I was here, stuff like that happened. Back in the tournament against the gods (wow that was a long time ago) Wing lost his fight and Nulix introduced Ulian Echo (Wasn't that his name? Sorry, I've been gone too long) and had that entire branching storyline behind the scenes of the tournament instead of just having another fight like the rest of us. That was cool. That's the stuff I want to see. The unexpected, not the pointless fights one after another.
OOC:Even as its creator, and as much as I loved this RP, and all the memories I've had with it, it would probably be best to move on after this season is over. Where to...who knows? But if keep on this one, never-ending, we may end up hating it in the end and make it seem as a chore, a fate this RP should never deserve. So, I understand why you might branch and try other RPs now, so that you can get ideas and plans for the future. Just, as a caution, don't become so obsessed with the new RP that this one crashes before it is even finished. Let's end this with a good note. Let's give it our all this summer.
Darxess sits down in the chair infront of the controls and swivels it around toward Pharell, head propped against his hand as if he was bored. "And why should I trust you?" It was the moment, through mental link, Darxess signaled Orb to stop fighting useless guards and to head back toward the ship. Always helps to have an Ace in the hole. EDIT:I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to leave it at that for now. I'm going to a car show tomorrow, and I'm going to have to wake up early for it, meaning that I'm going to have to go to bed early as well. This also means I won't be on tomorrow. I'll trying to get on as often as I can though.
The metal airlock shielding even blocked the noise of the outside battle, the only noise within the ship being their conversation. Darxess tosses Pharell a cellphone. "Have a message to deliver? These things can be pretty useful. Now, if you would be so kind...GET THE HECK OFF MY SHIP!" Darxess tossed his staff through the air like a javelin toward Pharell.
Darxess blocks the shot off the end of the staff, sending it straight through the window, blasting any loose object right out of the cockpit, and seriously messing up Darxess's hair. After a few seconds, a metal emergency airlock covers it and the suction stops, along with any light or view of the outside. Darxess stood in the dark, with only the blue emergency lights providing barely enough light to see past one's face. After fixing his hair from the absolute mess that it was, he raised the point of his staff toward the intruder. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to decline that generous offer."
Sirens were coming from all over the building and several squads of troops were heading their way. "Good job, Darxess. You've managed to get spotted before even entering the building. I think that is a new record." "Quiet! We don't have time for insults!" Darxess exclaimed while shifting his staff into a combat stance. "Let's see how strong they are. Orb, you have the honors." "Ooh! This will be fun!" Orb covered himself in flames and aimed itself straight toward the enemy. While Orb was keeping the guards busy, Darxess heard a small crack coming from the hull. He sighed. "Now what?"
OOC:He wasn't going to be introduced into this storyline. His part has already taken place. During the time of Durgan's absence is when he is encountered. After that, he no longer takes any part in the story. He's just a part of the side story I am going to make about Durgan's disappearance.
OOC:I'm sorry I'm overloading you guys with OOC posts without any RP posts, but there is also a character I would like to introduce. During Durgan's travels he comes across a new character Jeraxan Darkwave. (That is the best name I have for him, atm) He is a man with short black unkempt hair in black armor. Instead of the normal plate armor, he has black scale armor, with each individual scale trimmed at the edges with gold. He has two blades crossed at an obtuse X behind him at his waist. These blades are not traditional single blade swords. The hilt is normal, but it has two thin crystal spikes beside each other with a space in-between them coming out of the cross guard where the blade usually is. It is designed like this so that, by focusing his energies through the gemstone in the hilt, he can arc lightning in-between the two spikes. Of course, even with that little addition, the spikes are still devastating tools of combat. Especially in the hands of Jeraxan Darkwave. That's all I have on him right now, but I plan to further develop this character in the future. BIC: Durgan raised an eyebrow as he checked over the paper in his hand while Orb prepared the ship for landing. "So, this is where the next bounty is? Looks like a doozy to earn." "Quit your complaining, we've both dealt with worse." Orb muttered. "True, but taking on an entire base is not my idea of good time. Oh well, money is money, after all. Especially when its been so hard to come by after being cut off from the U.O. for so long..." Durgan then stabbed the end of his staff in the ground of the ship to make sure the end was still sharp. It nearly poked straight through the bottom of the ship. After the warning light blazed for a few seconds, Orb turned them off. "Try not to get us killed before we even reach the target..." "Well excuuuuse me, Orb. I've been kind of absent minded lately because I've been wondering how the U.O. has been doing after all this time." "All of their vitals check out as fine. There is nothing to worry about." "You know what I meant, Orb." The ship landed and the air lock opened. Durgan stepped out and raised his hood, with Orb follow right behind him. Orb:"Great job at looking inconspicuous. Why not have a giant blinking light that says 'Look at me! I'm a U.O. member!', hmm?" "I gave up trying to look casual when I had a giant talking metal ball following me around." Durgan said before sneaking into the base. "Great, make the attacks personal. Its not like I asked to be a giant talking ball. I have you to thank for that." Orb stated before following Durgan into the base. *Camera pans over* ULFIRE BASE
OOC:I may eventually write a short story that covers what Darxess was doing the entire time I was gone, but the major thing is that during this time while the U.O. was off on their own adventures, Darxess changed his name to Durgan. What events would bring about such a change? It is something I plan to find out and create. Also, partially because I've been gone from RPing for so long, he may be slightly different than you remember him. I also may make a few tiny changes to him myself to try and make him more professional instead of a character that is immediately apparent that he walked out of a fan-fic. His temporary hiatus from the U.O. and the changes that happened over time will cover this.
OOC:Yeah, I was rather proud of it. If you want I can pm you the story behind it and some of the aspects of his character as traveling mage (This Durgan was basically Darxess as if he appeared in a more traditional swords and sorcery universe, and has absolutely no connection to this story, besides the general characteristics of him)
OOC:Well, his human name was Desras, and its alright. There is also Durgan Starweaver, the name I used for him when I RPed him as a young traveling mage.
It doesn't have to be every last important detail, just the important stuff. I have room for 1 pm at the moment, and I'll try to make room for...
OOC:Yeah, that's part of what's be keeping me away too. First, both sides of my family wanted to celebrate (Got to eat out at Pizza Hut, so it was pretty cool. The other side's party was at my aunt's house) Then, of course my classmates. Then, my previous classmates who were graduating at the same time. (I switched schools around highschool because Dad's new teaching job there) Yeah, a lot of parties...Sorry I've been gone so long. EDIT: WHY DOES EVERYONE LEAVE WHEN I POST?!
Yo! What's up? What are some of the thousands of things I missed?
OOC:Hey guess what ladies and germs, I'm not dead! Honestly, I've been taking it easy ever since I've graduated, and playing my new Xbox 360 and trying to pass my driver's test so I get my driver's license and a have a way to getting to college and a job. Trying desperately to scrap together some scholarships hasn't been too fun either. Good news, though, is that I'm finally coming back! Its been far too long since I've done a proper RP. And, I've honestly been missing Darxess as well. So, here I am! Back again! Also, as an added bonus, I thought I would show everyone my Senior Picture. It turned out extremely well.
