Sorry, that was poorly worded. Objectively... well-written? Complete objectivity is unattainable, but "well-written" productions are usually universally recognized (see: the award ceremonies). It also matters whether the film portrays what it intended to portray and didn't sway off the mark, e.g. I am willing to be somewhat lenient with the previous Spider-Man trilogy because the source material it was pulling from wasn't (as Sforzato mentioned) chronologically "immaculate." Although, I suppose if you are releasing a film to general moviegoers it deserves to be revamped for that purpose. This once again falls back to whether the trilogy benefits from retaining those campy elements from the comics (and now we have come full circle).
Yes, as Fork said. It's the campy appeal. I haven't met anyone however who has gone out on statement and said the previous trilogy was objectively good (notice I omitted the usage of the word "better"), excluding perhaps our dear @Ars Nova Then again, he did say he "preferred" it-- which is generally the gist of most fans' argument, it boils down to preference. At least I can laugh at the Maguire films.
It was OK.
What an adorable pipsqueak!
Hey, I made another icon. I'm gonna be Dick Rider, use this one if you wanna team-up or something. Same theme/art style for each....
Somewhat belated. I think Rocafort draws pretty eyes, boys, etc. But his sense of anatomy is skewed, esp. with women. Starfire looked *very* off...
Do you have a favorite musical(s), and if so which are they? What was the first article of clothing you pined after/desired as a means of self-expression? Do you enjoy walking in the rain? What's on your reading list at current?
The Masked Marvel. Oh my goodness, that's cute.
They're not very good, but here's two: a) http://i7.minus.com/jSiiW3ZtOda7K.png b) http://i5.minus.com/j06f4nGM5JNS6.png
Would you like me to make a set of Robbie icons? Jus' for you. :P or any other character you like I can do
What about the lack of Nova Prime, period. I find it doubtful Richard Rider would not be involved in the events which took place in the movie, considering he is essentially Nova Corps' front man. Apparently James Gunn scripted a Nova cameo in the initial draft of the film, but he was removed from it in the final script. Thus, the film utilizes major components of Richard's backstory and has the setup to his cameo established but it's never delivered. And why was he removed? Gunn was playing favorites. Nova might not be Gunn's favorite hero, but he certainly appeals to other demographics. His choice to omit Richard Rider from the MCU doesn't make sense from a marketing point of view because, prior to the GotG film, Rich was the most well-known Marvel hero whose exploits involved space travel. He appealed to gamers when he debuted in Marvel VS Capcom 3, and his action figure sold best from the GotG lot. So that's two demographics Gunn is missing out on. But, y'know. Silly helmet. Like a raccoon rocking a machine gun is any stranger.
Although, doesn't Red Hood & the Outlaws have a new writer? Will Pfeifer. Not even "new," he came onto the project in 2013. I am not up-to-date...
You're right, the damage has been done. DC should have been more careful in selecting introductory writers, esp. following the reboot of the...
Wasn't Scott Lobdell's Teen Titans series cancelled? Serves him right for writing Bart Allen as a terrorist.
It would be more accurate to say that Supernatural possesses a "Constantine" sort of tone to it, as the latter's solo series was published as early as 1988. I'll pass on this. Apparently the creators handwaved the titular character's sexuality, which is somewhat of a disappointment (he was one of the first bisexual characters to "come out" in comic). Disappointing, but not surprising. I don't mind if other people like/enjoy this series for I was prepared to like it too, albeit I have no interest in supporting Goyer's production if he is going to do away with whatever aspects of the character he doesn't like/think important.
A good portion of these are rather old, but in any case:
They still show reruns of season one where I'm from.
