The beta patch does not work on PS2 period as a heads up. I tried and it crash for me in Dive to the Heart. It crashed for Sora right before Traverse Town. These ae soft crashes BTW (music is still playing) I don't know if it's fixable or we should just make this PCSX2 exclusive
