Hey everyone! As some of you may know, the User Awards run every summer. It is getting time for the 2017 Awards! This thread will have some general information on the Awards, and is your go-to spot for any questions or suggestions you might have (excluding category suggestions). Nominating When will nominations be opened? When category submissions have ended, nominations will be opened. This will likely be July 16th. How many members can I nominate per category? Can I nominate myself? You may nominate two members per category. For couple categories (e.g. Cutest Fake/Real Couple, Best Bromance, etc.), you may nominate two couples; for thread categories, two threads, and so on. When nominating, use a member’s current username. Nicknames, real names, or former usernames will be discarded. Please do not nominate inactive members. The 2017 User Awards cover the period from the end of the 2016 Awards (roughly August of 2016) to the present, so consider that when nominating. For example, if Joey was a Sectional Moderator in February of 2016, but left in March of 2016, do not nominate him for Best Sectional Moderator 2017. How do I send in my nominations? When nominations are opened, staff members accepting nominations will be listed. Please send only one message to each staff member. For example, even though you are sending Xavier your Thread Nominations and Best/Worst Member Nominations, just include it all in one message. Please directly copy and paste the categories. You do not have to nominate for each category—just leave an N/A in the space. For example, even if I choose to not nominate anything for Thread Nominations, I will still include it in my message. Voting Public Polls & Alternate Accounts Polls will be public, therefore we can check if someone is creating alternate accounts to boost votes for a particular member. If you are found doing so, you will be removed from this year’s awards, and will face our typical alternate account punishment. Likewise, other users can see who you are voting for. Can I vote for myself? You may only vote for yourself in a couple category (e.g. if Joey and Jim are in the running for Best Bromance, Joey can vote for the Joey & Jim Bromance). In other categories, if you vote for yourself, you will be dropped from the category. I want to change my vote! If the poll is still open, message @Plums about changing your vote. Hottest Members/Best Members/Worst Members For these categories, you'll be allowed to vote for two separate members. These are the only categories in which you'll be able to do this. Misc. If you would like to withdraw from the User Awards entirely, message me and I will take you out of any category you’re nominated for, or think you may be nominated for. I can also remove you from any polls you appear in. Please do keep in mind, however, that the awards are all in good fun—so don’t feel too bad if you’re submitted for Biggest Post Whore! Hey everyone! As was announced Saturday of last week, the KH-Vids staff is going to be streaming Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue this weekend! We've been super excited to start, and have been preparing behind the scenes to get ready. We will be streaming on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday at 7PM EST, @Cat~ will be streaming Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, with commentary provided by her, Heart, and Karuta. On Sunday, Plums will be streaming Kingdom Hearts X: Back Cover at 12PM EST (with no commentary). Later that night, Plums will stream Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage, with commentary from Plums, Heart, and Fearless at 7PM EST. Hey everyone! If you've been following our social media outlets, you know we teased an announcement that would come today. After some of discussion and prep work over the last two weeks, I'm happy to announce that the KH-Vids staff will be livestreaming Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue next weekend on January 28th and January 29th! We figured it would be a good way to allow everyone in the community, both ours and the broader KH community, to get together and experience the newest installment in the series, whether you're planning to get it now or later on down the line. On both Saturday and Sunday, we will be streaming the entirety of both Kingdom Hearts X: Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage-. View attachment 46139 With Kingdom Hearts HD II.8: Final Chapter Prologue's release a mere 20 days away, GameInformer released their review of the much awaited precursor to the Kingdom Hearts III story to its paid subscribers. Looking into the more technical aspects of the title, the author commends the voice acting & music, indicating solid performances overall, though remarks that the graphics are par for the course for the series, with the obvious bump, rough as it may be, in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage- and Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover. Gameplay-wise, the author remarks that gameplay feels smoother than previous entries into the story, and states there will be exciting boss encounters that can take up the entire landscape at times. Furthermore, after completing A Fragmentary Passage, you can unlock a Critical Mode for the game, and play through again with a much tougher challenge. Most important to note is, at the end of A Fragmentary Passage, there will be an extended cutscene which sees characters we're familiar with take the steps into what is, definitively, the beginnings of Kingdom Hearts III. All in all, Kingdom Hearts HD II.8: Final Chapter Prologue received an 8.5/10, praised as a solid collection that amps up excitement for the conclusive game to the Xehanort Saga, and gets you prepared for what's coming next. Gifts will be given on Christmas Day, but let me know in advance if you know you’re going somewhere so I can let your Secret Santa know when the best time to exchange gifts would be ahead of time. In order to participate, you need to be an active member for at least a month, OR have 30-50 posts INCLUDING posts in areas without post count. This is just to make sure that you are an active member and won’t disappear on your Secret Santa.
